"Old School"?! LOL I'm now sad that I never kept all my Johanna Lindsey books from the '80s and early 90s - Her books and Jude Deveraux had the best covers!
I did keep them, I have Spanish editions of many Johanna Lindsey which are gorgeous!
@@solevazquezmaria ooh I bet those are gorgeous!!
Lorraine Heath’s A Sin for all Seasons series is one of my favorites! And I’m obsessed with The Earl takes a Fancy 💛📚🥃
That Seaflame cover is everything! 😍 Vivid is one of my fav Bev books, I just got a copy from ThriftBooks over the weekend…it was the hardcover though and not the paperback 😅. And Lorraine’s Sins for All Seasons series is so good! The last book leads right into her newest series/the first book at least, Scoundrel of My Heart. ❤️
Omggg so jealous you for the hardback of vivid!!!
@@PeaceLoveBooksxo I wanted the paperback 😅 but I’ll definitely keep the hardcover until I can find a paperback copy lol
I read Sabrina Jeffries on a whim. The first book I read was The Pirate Lord (of course I had to pick it up because duh, it’s has pirate in the title). It’s the first in the Lord Trilogy. It was sooo good!
I’m currently reading the third book, The Dangerous Lord, and loving it so far. It’s hate to love and the wittiness is just so fun, I actually laughed out loud.
The second one was great also! I don’t think I could choose a favorite from the 3.
Those hardcovers…😍🤩
Such beautiful books! I look forward to hearing your impressions on some of these authors I have not read.
I love the red edges on This Other Eden!
I need to actually read some of my Norah Hess books, have a couple of them and purely bought them for the covers as well!
I Have Almost Of Norah Hess's Books They're So Good.
I need to read books that I buy for the covers too 😂😂
Ahhhh so nice. 💐 Wonderful to see younger ladies appreciating the VINTAGE historical romances of years gone by. MEREDITH DURAN is a keeper author along with PATRICIA GAFFNEY. Beautiful copies!
Great video. ❤️
I enjoy seeing you enjoying the older romance books. I grew up in the 80's reading those books. Johanna Lindsey's older books had a great cover artist, Robert McGinnis. One of them was A Pirate's Love, and the other was Love Only Once. 😊
Sabrina Jeffries rocks! Her best book is "Beware a Scot's Revenge" as far as I am concerned.
So jealous you got the Julia Quinn one. That would be my third favorite. You are going to love A Scoundrel Of Her Own.
I have many unread books in my kindle plus others books waiting to be read. I decide to read the favorites first and then read the new writers because unfortunately the old books are better. My apt is small and no space for books. Most of those books I wish to read it no space
old school historicals are just 😍
Right 😍😍
I wish they would still do step backs!!
Sweet Everlasting by Patricia Gaffney has been one of my favorite historicals. (I haven't read it in a while so I'm not sure if it holds up.) I also read Lily, which I can't remember as well, but I do believe it's very angsty.
Betina Krahn is another favorite, although I've not read the book you bought.
In both cases, I've read about five of their books each.
I too buy historical romances based firstly on the stepback/cover and secondly on the plot 😆
Why are we like this 😂😂
Yes the cover is very important and I will like to send a email to the editors.
Come The Morning by Shannon Drake is a good one also The white Rose Trilogy by Linda Lad are good ones also those seem like good rec u have.
Yes come the morning is a 5 books about the conquest of Scoth land by William the conqueror who seeks to annex to England. I love historical romance in these series you will have the best in one book.😍😍😍😍
I read the Valerie Vayle books when they first came out. I ordered Seaflame from Thift Books at the end of January and hopefully it will arrive next week. I'm rereading some of the books I liked back in the 80s and so far, it's been mixed results.
Lynn Kurland has many time travel romance novels
I agree with you about the rating of the conditions of books on Thriftbooks and eBay. I'm extremely picking about my books and don't crack the spine, so I want my used books to be the same way. eBay at least will sometimes give you a picture of the spine, but unfortunately Thriftbooks does not. I've gotten so I only buy "like new" and "very good" books.
Did anyone of else think of Kerrigan Bryne's The Highwayman when seeing that yellow cover from Lorraine Health for The Earl Takes a Fancy?
I read the Earl’s take all by Lorraine and I keep to reread and I recommend it. I bought in New York City in Strand book store new books for a $1. I recommend go to your public library because they sell them. Look for yard sale and Thrift stores like Salvation Army and goodwills. I am looking for readers that are selling their books by mail. I try amazon but the shipping is expensive and is better to buy new. Try other sellers in the internet.
Have you ever read any Georgette Heyer, Roberta Gellis or Elizabeth Chadwick's novels. Granted Heyer and
Gellis have both passed away but Chadwick is still going strong. I'm sorry I can't tell you anything about their book covers but Chadwick did mention her covers once...I just can't remember what she said. But the stories and the historical details are terrific.
Your sweater is so cute!! 🥺
Thank you 🥰
A Slip in Time's cover🥰😍🥰😍
You'll should read the ice swan , and Beauty amount the ruins by j'nell ciesieLski .. you will fallimmensly in love especially the ice swan , it is omg .... and this Duke of mine by Delilah Marvelle , this one is mind blowing , ..... I love the stories and mostly the way these 2 writers write it is so beautiful ... I dare say this Duke of min and the madness of lord Ian Mackenzie , the ice swan and My darling Duke by Reid Stacy are my top of top historical rom
I couldn't find the shirt you have on , I am in love, it's my jam! Help
It’s from Hello Lovely Box! It’s on their website!
Forever his is a great book.
I know what you mean about Thriftbooks. I've ordered 'good' books that turned out to be in fair to poor condithion so I just gave up and decided to order the cheepest they have availeble.
Sabrina Jeffries series The Lord trilogy is a series I'm actually rereading now. But another of her series that is really good is the Hellions of Halstead Hall and the Sinful Suitors series
Zebra historical romance and zebra heartfire romance have some of the hottest covers. You should check them out sometime if you haven't already 🥰🥰
Lily Blackwood… run don’t walk to read that series. It’s awesome on audible too! Thanks for the eye candy! Do you hit up goodwills and thrift shops?
Shot in the dark…, In the early to mid 90’s I read a ton of historical romance…there was one that I absolutely fell in love with and lent to a friend…never got it back 😢. I remember the male character was named Cheyenne..I can’t for the life of me remember the name or the book. Is there any way you can think of for me to figure out what book this may have been?
I have no idea 😫 sorry!
Have you read any books by Laura Lee Guhrke? Also, love those covers thank you for sharing, they're such gems :)
Where you get those old school books? I am looking for MaNaught, Meredith Duran Jude deveraux, Virginia Hunter Judith Ivory many others. Somebody there pl ase
