- SCP 001 is an Apollyon Class anomaly also known as When Day Breaks.
SCP 3008 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as Infinite Ikea.
SCP-001 is the designation given to the Sun, after an event occurred that resulted in roughly 6.8 billion casualties within the first twenty-four hours. Upon contact with visible light produced by SCP 001, living organisms liquefy at the point of contact, with the effect spreading until the entire organism is converted into a form resembling melted wax. Organisms exposed to SCP001 though, do not perish.
SCP-3008 is a large retail unit previously owned by and branded as IKEA, a popular furniture retail chain. A person entering SCP3008 through the main entrance and then passing out of sight of the doors will find themselves translocated to SCP-3008-1.
SCP 3008-1 is a space resembling the inside of an IKEA furniture store, extending far beyond the limits of what could physically be contained within the dimensions of the retail unit.

all i can imagine here is the ikea workers getting even SCARIER and the people living in 3008 being (surprisingly) much safer than those outside the anomaly, think about it, no sunlight is in the ikea, and massive civilizations are already built. This seems like a near perfect situation for those inside

About 5 months safer, according to the video.
There is a chance that she didn’t get transformed into a blob when she stepped out into the light. The infinite ikea connects multiple universes and it’s possible not all of them contain when day breaks. I guess it’s meant to be left up for interpretation

I prefer the other version of this WDB story where the 3008 Staff focused its hostility directly at the instances of 001. it kinda made it seem scarier that way when basically every terrifying SCP acknowledged WDB as the primary threat.

There is another story revolving around SCP personel surviving in the streets of SCP-1678, with bobbies lining up to fight the flesh wave and the entity inside the Parliament delivering an awesome speech telling the monsters to go back to their corrupted sun.
It would be a blast to get a video about all SCPs actively protecting humanity from WDB.

When Day Breaks is so terrifying because of how sudden it is like disaster.
You don't have time to prepare. The foundation may know that it could happen but never when or if it could.
Like doing a normal day then suddenly a flash flood happens, sweeping everyone away.

For me it’s the opposite, “When day breaks” is such a ridiculous idea because it’s so over the top that it’d never actually happen. Yeah I get this is all fictional, but something’s more scary when it actually resembles something that could actually exist.

You know the Infinite IKEA probably could be the best place you could be for when day breaks. I mean you get lots of food and shelter and the staff will help if the monsters get in and plus even if they do drag you outside you might be in a different universe where the event hasn’t happened and probably never will since the Infinite IKEA is a dimension hopping anomaly.

One little fact that makes "when day breaks" much worse is that it's not actually safe at night. Due to the moon reflecting the light of the sun, the moonlight will have the same melting effect as the daylight.

The surface of the moon has geology that makes it REFLECT the light of the sun, thus day or night, if you see light, IT IS FROM THE SUN in one way or another! It's the same principle as a MIRROR: If you point a mirror, that is exposed to sunlight, towards something you see the sun's light reflected towards whatever it is you are pointing it at... except the moon is so far away the light encompasses the full width of Earth by the time it reaches us, same as the sun itself.

Come to think of it. It's more likely staff members consider the blobs as enemy too and attack them at night fall. They're also organisms not native to the store so it only makes sense that the store considers them hostile too.
682 was sent in there in a cross-test and it was confirmed the staff attacked him. So I don't think they would ignore the blobs.
And the Ikea PA system could say "Cleaning reguired on isle 3" And the dozens of staff would rush in to battle.
I remember in another scp video about this topic the staff became friendly to humans because they had a bigger threat

For people wondering how these videos get animated so fast. This channel is based from the channel info graphics that use presets characters they dont draw them by hand many of the buildings and people you see are pre made and if they have made it previously they will use it when needed. This is great becuase they explain scp's in way for many to understand.

@@animodev2099 they animated these simple characters with joints(or by using pre done animation.) like adobe flash. Normal animation is done by drawing frame by frame (usually up to 24 per second.)

Has anyone ever dug into the floor of the ikea or tried to reach the ceiling? If so then these would be the safest locations within the infinite IKEA, it not only keeps you protection from the anomalies but it's a perfect shelter.

In the animated RUclips series Confinement the infinite IKEA episode had a community built up on a pillar and was pretty safe, but it didn’t seem like they were anywhere near the ceiling which was interesting.
@@demoneon9527 I guess the IKEA's ceiling is also infinite. The safest place has to be underground, though it's possible that the IKEA's floor is indestructible. Even if you could penetrate the ground there's a chance that you will see an abyss, still worth the shot though.

@@phineasduke9832 that's actually a good thing, IKEA'S residents will be able to dig and tunnel miles into the ground, much like ants. This will allow them to be completely safe from most dangerous anomalies, the rate of survival will go up 98% with the 2% accounting for the residents outside exploration for resources and the small chance that outside anomalies wonder into the IKEA.
@@quaktoons331 there's still lots of problems with that. Tunnels can be death traps if they're not properly ventilated. With Co2 buildups and such.
This needs to be made into a Full length movie! I’ve always loved the “when day breaks” and “infinite IKEA” story’s and this really, in my opinion is the ground work for an epic movie 🎥

I'm really enjoying these "when day breaks" stories. a world in which just "sunlight" for a brief moment and it'll result in one of the if not *THE most* gruesome and treacherous of demise.
"When day breaks" and "O, Death" are absolutely my two favorite "XK Class" SCP's.
I wouldn't say when day breaks is one of the worst ways to die, I'd imagine after what's left of the people don't have enough mind left to comprehend their situations. The real worst way to die is those left alive who managed to stay alive long enough to understand how to survive, having to live the rest of their lives alone.

Shouldn't the blob have tried to take IKEA workers thinking they're humans? Or at the very least, shouldn't the IKEA workers have tried to attack the blob because it wasn't leaving the shop? I don't know if it was just me, but I was waiting for more chaos and confrontation between all three parties, and not such a coordinated attack from the blob and the IKEA workers against the humans. It seemed as if the author of the story cheated, telling the monsters not to attack each other.
Also: shouldn't the blob be trying to bring its victims under the sunlight? That means a blob gets a victim and then spends possibly all of eternity trying to get out of the precinct.
Yeah there are other daybreak stories that assume the staff would attack the the 001-A's and visa versa triggering a swarming of staff that would try to beat the mass to a pulpier pulp. Which of course doesn't work, and the 001-A only breaks off to carry victims outside, that story made the convenient assumption that the fighting took place close to a temporary exit so if a 001-A would get lost is still up in the air, it was also conveniently night time when the story ended so the meltability of staff was also left unanswered.

@@MrAirpumpkin The writer of that story forgot that moonlight also isn't safe. Any exposure to light will melt you, even reflected from the moon. It was mentioned in the original article
So to touch on a few questions here: We have a precedent for what the staff will and won't attack, while they attack most everything, there are acceptions to these targeting perimeters. While 001-A's could possibly be attacked by the staff, it is unclear whether the 001-A's would even be able to get into the Infinite IKEA, as it hasn't happened yet in ANY universe. If there was a universe it happened in, there would be some kind of evidence of it, possible leaks of those 001-A's into other realities as one of the many forgotten properties of the Infinite IKEA, you are not guaranteed to return to your original universe when going through an exit of the Infinite IKEA. Ontop of that 001-A's possibly are intelligent enough to know the threat the Infinite IKEA posses as they will have consumed some SCP Staff. Likely enough, The 001-A's would leave the IKEA alone whether intentional, or because the prospect of most humans being instructed to make their way to SCP Sites.
When not even Dr. Bright is causing trouble, you know something's wrong.

When Day Breaks is simply the most terrifying idea to ever exist, There is nothing else too it.
Plus it's something which can be real, I mean not as extreme as SCP but sun rays are quite harmful and without ozone layer we all would get cancer and God knows what else.

And scary, oh god i cant imagine what it would be like just trying to survive "when day breaks" knowing that even the smallest slit of skin exposed could end your life. I would just try to end myself.

Well, the story of SCP-1632 (UnLondon) fits that bill. The "Bobbies" (the city's undead Police force made from dead prison inmates) changed personality from hostility against the Foundation and anyone in it to cooperation, serving as the undead wall against the blobs...

There was one SCP-3008 _When Day Breaks_ story where The Staff managed to work alongside the other residents trapped in the IKEA to fight back against the flesh creatures.

People under the influence of the SCP-001 do not feel pain during the transformation or after. It is even hinted that they might be happy with what happened to them.
Every other video after SCP Ilustrated about SCP-001 "Thousand Voices":

...Like why are people doing this? Why are they taking one most scary aspect of this SCP - the one were humans are happily giving away their own humanity because of the anomalous effect, where they urge people to join and become like them - and instead they go with the clishe standard B-class horror movie shit? Even the author of the Thosand Voices story made a note about how he changed a bit of canon, in which they feel pain so that his story has more "Haloween vibe" to it.
Have you seen the sheer amount of normie appealing content this channel makes?
Dr bright lists, scp fights, etc. It's just not faithfully doing the SCP foundation lore any justice. I watch it because I'm lazy to read the files and their presentation is good. 10-20 minutes with somewhat entertaining content is enough for me.
The file for When Day Breaks does imply that the post-transformation entities are "happy" with their situation, but it doesn't specify whether or not the transformation itself is painful. It says that the entities fusing together isn't painful, but that's it. So unless I missed something, I don't think it's necessarily incorrect to portray the transformation as painful. I don't think it'd make the entities less scary either (in fact I think it'd make the whole sun-zealot thing _more_ scary), but that's just my opinion.

I know you profit from this, but I'm also thankful you reuse some scps and create interesting mash ups. I'm am however interested in seeing some more, rare mash ups. Also would have been cool too see the scp foundation try to mount an effort themselves to enter the ikea on a moonless night. They then take over, clash with the communities, fight off the scps, etc. Would have been cooler imo. Still, thanks for the fun story guys!

All I've heard is one possible reason When Day Breaks happened was because of a termination on SCP-682 by throwing it into the sun. Then it adapted and yeah. I'm not sure whered to find that tho

This is good, but I prefer the other version where SCP-3008 became good because it realized that 001 invaded its dimension. Seeing employees ganging up on the creatures was epic.
It’s scary to realize that in the Infinite IKEA, since it spans over the multiverse,the threat of the creatures such as Daybreak could be roaming around as well.
If the Ikea connect to multiple universes, does that means the when day break blobs can use the Ikea as a sort of portal to travel around?

I mean, they would try. Unless there was bodies in front of the Ikea or someone saw someone else melting, they'll just walk out just like the woman did. They have no clue what is going out outside or in the real world.
The Ikea is a keyway to infinite universe there is a chance you'll find an exit that ain't the WDB universe

If the IKEA leads to multiple dimensions then couldn't the When Day Breaks creatures travel through it and take people from those dimensions too?
Not really. They can go in, but the taking part is where it gets tricky for them
The reason is the Exits are always on the move and they very rarely lead to the same dimensions twice. And there are The Staff that will view these blobs as hostile and attempt to swarm them in kind. Never underestimate the Ikea.
I do believe there are a few roaming in the infinite Ikea, however they are definitely kept busy by the Staff to notice any settlers and are too trapped with no way to procreate more blobs in WDB sunlight.

Also funny when I read other story about When Day Breaks The Infinite Ikea. When Melted attack SCP 3008, Staffs doesn't just fight Human but somehow team up with Human against Melted as Melted doesn't just target on Human but also Staffs as well, they did fight as best as they can but slowly they been drag out into universe where I think probably other universe as because Copper appear and chase Melted away, release Staffs and Human they they try fled back into SCP 3008 but only for Staffs while Human notice same way that Staff enter have vanish and now they been greet by MTF. I see this videos just make Staff just same as before
honestly When Day Breaks/001 is the most terrifying thing I've ever read/learned of in all of horror. Even if people fled off the planet, the Sun's light can still reach things in space. Even on other planets, the Sun can show up in their sky as a distant little star. Literally doom on a cosmic scale beyond just Earth.
As a fan of 3008 and 001 (when day breaks) they are 2 of my favorite scps. This was an amazing story

How does SCP-001-A instantly know where the exit is? and if you're captured by one in 3008 it technically couldn't absorb you, due to a need for sunlight to melt the target of 001-A.
I'm curious about one thing. Would the blob creature of 001 be considered a person (or persons) to the staff?
They're technically still human, so the staff would likely attack the blob once night came around. Also, would the same apply the other way around? The blob creature seems to seek humans to bring into the sun, so would it attack the staff and try to bring them out into the sun? Plus, would that even work, since the staff are just made of flesh? The staff have no organs, so would they just melt and die?

I kinda wish that you spread out videos about similar topics over a longer period of time instead of posting them day after day. Before this "When Day Breaks" streak you had one about Dr. Bright, and another one about SCP-682, and another one about SCP-049.
I think spreading those videos out would make for a more varied daily viewing experience. So people who aren't interested in a certain topic can always come back tomorrow for something new.
Considering he makes daily 10 minute videos it is probably easier to make content in blocks since he can just reuse the animation assets. If it means he can easily keep putting out those daily videos I would be happy to have "thematic blocks"

I remember watching another video on the same topic, but in that video, the staff joined force with the survivors to fend off the melting blob.

I'd rather deel with the Staff than the blobs of melted flesh that scp-001 created. Though I am surprised that the flesh monster didn't attack the staff or vice versa.
Yeah, the staff can defeat the lizard but they cant seem to defeat a frail blob
I feel like remaining SCP personnel from day one of the endless nightmare known as "when day breaks" would have an escape operation to enter SCP-3008. They would 100% have basic army equipment, (land deployment vehicles, ECT) that they could enter and set up a bastion for survival near the food courts.
They could essentially survive as long as possible to figure out a way to neutralize the risk of SCP-001 or just outright restart a new generation of humanity. After all, the Ikea is infinite.
