Going from trick shots in backyards to David Ledbetter compliment your game and ability. If that doesn't make you smile I don't know what would. Love this
Garrett is a victim of his own skill. He’s good enough to always be able to hit it from almost every position. I would love to see what he could shoot by drilling like this. Lots of fun to watch and really helpful. Much appreciated.
He’s always said he’s more handsy. So he can make up for different club positions
Elite compensator
It’s the downfall of a good athlete. If your hand-eye coordination is very good, you can get away with poor technique and believe your technique is sound by seeing the results. But under pressure, the tension takes its effect on your natural ability to compensate for technical flaws and it can go awry very easily.
@@davidgraham8058 I can relate to that!
@@davidgraham8058very well said
What a legend David Leadbetter
Leadbetter is magic. I played in a pro-am years ago and we were able to spend a day at his academy. He happened to personally come up to me and spent 5 minutes showing me a simple backswing change (much like this) and he had me playing out of my mind.
For how long did you play out of your mind?
@@erikk4555 about 4 years, then by back blew up and I never got it back.
amazing lesson, the way he explains and breaks down everything is amazing. Really good teacher/coach
I really enjoyed watching GM Golf himself receiving correction on his golf swing by a Legendary instructor. It's a warm reminder to all that no matter how good you get, you can always get better! GM & GG Forever🤗
I was always under the impression that the takeaway was not that important like many. Turns out its what makes the swing. I watched bubbies coaching and literally without any practice went out and hit 3 straight pars in the first round after which I have never done. Its absolutely phenomenal how simple David Leadbetter makes it.
Love seeing Garrett's genuine excitement with this lesson from David. You can literally see the light go on in understanding his swing plane once explained. Great teacher, better student.
The A Swing is AMAZING !!! Wonderful , it change my life. I started for playing golf 4 years ago, it was so difficult for me to make a swing ( every teacher tell me a lot of drills, etc ), but when I watched the A SWING by Leadbetter ... every thing is easy for me. Sorry my english, I am chilean. Thanks a lot Leadbetter, you are the Best.
A simple visual. A sign of a great teacher.
David is amazing. I learned more in this video, all of which makes perfect sense, than pretty much every lesson I’ve ever had or watched. Wow.
As the lesson I had from my course pro was in a similar vein to what the great Mr Leadbetter was showing you, less the rotating of the forearm. Had a quick practice with this slight change before a casual round today and can genuinely say that it was the best I've played for about 2 years - happy days.
It's a master craftsman that can simplify a golf swing and bring out the best in a player's ability -- amazing to watch!
Simplicity is the key, and to have it explained that way is so much more rewarding, awesome content 👍👍
These two GG extras with Mr. Leadbetter has been so eye opening. Thank you for sharing!
My God he's a good coach. Simple solutions and so easy to understand.
Thank you for this! Live one on one lessons are by far the most informative thing on RUclips for golf improvement. Its not what right, but what is incorrect that really sheds light on the right mechanics.
Iv been a lifelong 10ish handicap player, last summer I really focused on what my backswing is doing and have pushed my game down to a 7, this video really helps, can't wait to try it out and hopefully we can push lower this upcoming summer👍
Rylan, really practice your chipping and putting when possible. Those last few strokes to scratch come from being able to get up and down from anywhere once you've missed a green, and you will miss a few greens. Good luck.
I’m a ten right now.
congrats man
Facts. This was a great lesson vid
To get to scratch you need to do 3 things:
1. Hit the fairway
2. Hit more fairways
3. Hit all fairways
As a 10 or 5 you lack the game to hit greens from imperfect lies. It's like a .5-1.0 shot penalty missing the short grass.
Great lesson G that was awesome to watch.
Probably my favorite videos cause I feel they can help all of us!
I really enjoy the lesson style content, this, Bubbie's lesson and the video Kwon put out the other day where he got swing fixes from Cameron
I never focused on Leadbetter's lesson style into recently, he knows his stuff. I like that he has a system he teaches and really believes in having a consistent take away, which is learnable.
Its crazy how simple this concept is, and I've been doing it all wrong the whole time! Thank you for sharing this, I think tons of us keep going with our arms instead stopping at 45 degrees and continuing with the shoulders. This changes everything! Looking forward to seeing Garrett win the next Good Good major now!
Hello Rob Li how are you doing today?
I've just understood what he's talking about and I've done tons of things in my swing but this one really improves my swing's thought. Thank you very much for the greatest video.
My Golftec lessons have taught me exactly this type of stuff. Your swing is personal to you but there are some mechanics that make it all fit together. Golf is awesome.
I’m about a 15 handicap. I obviously struggle with consistency. I just went and practiced the leading elbow thing. Seemed counter intuitive, but I’ll be damned, not only am I hitting it straighter more consistently, way more distance as well. This is gold! Thank you.
I had a similar, positive experience. Currently have a 12 handicap, but have been as low as 9. I worked on a subtle lead arm roll. I found that my contact was good, and even in 40 degree temps on Trackman Range, I was picking up a solid 1/2 to 1 club length improvement. With the colder temps, I still posted 243 carry/275 total distance with my driver. Pretty good numbers for me---especially with a 40F temp. I will be curious to see if this holds up when it's for real and the weather is warmer. First impression was good though. And my swing felt good and repeatable.
Im a 30 handicap. I don't struggle with consistency. I'm consistently inconsistent
Definitely agree with this I did this drill on the course at the weekend at it definitely works… no more toe strikes and far more neutral ball flight
I feel like I needed that lesson as well. I tend to get stuck behind myself and manipulate my body in the downswing. Will definitely be practicing these check points.
Love this guy
So wholesome and genuine
Just worked on this with my pro. I was getting stuck behind with a low, flat hip plane takeaway. He put a pool noodle about hip high parallel with my knees and said takeaway above this. Striped 7i about 165 all night, great for me. Leadbetter goes into more detail, but it's the first time I felt the smash of the compression from being ahead of the ball AND swung hard enough to feel my reg flex get "whippy". Awesome vid.
The first time you compress an iron, like true ball compression you’re addicted forever. You could hit balls forever
Had 2 kids and had to stop playing golf for a few years.. I recently started playing again. Talk about steep into the ball, it’s been driving me crazy. Video after video, on the range. Lessons. Nothing working. I end up seeing this Ledbetter straightaway and start watching videos. I started practicing the take awake today at the range. It felt strange the first ten balls I hit, I was hozeling everything. Once I started feeling comfortable I was flushing every iron. Really unbelievable, this was the best lesson I ever had and it was free. I ordered that straight away anyways. Truly amazing. I was watching video of myself the last few weeks and was totally disgusted with what my take away even looked like. My down swing move was steep and over the top no matter what I tried. Truly amazing I recommend to anyone who wants to change there game instantly…..
Thousands I mean thousands of dollars and even more balls and hours spent over a life time and Mr. Leadbetter changes his pattern and my pattern a matter of seconds. It’s absolutely amazing what a treat to watch. Love it.
Leadbetter is in love with this young man’s apparent skills, well deserved, Garret has the skillz and dedication to the sport
Love these I always get amazing results after using the tips in these videos
this is incredible content thank you guys
Great video! Man David was the guru in the 90s.
David is a legend for a reason. Great video.
Hello handsome how are you doing today?
It's crazy that a golfer as good as this still has stuff to work on. Humbling man
Super analysis and advise by Mr Leadbetter !
Impressive knowledge and observations from an all-time great instructor!
I had no idea David was such a nice guy and does like to help others.
He is still…in my opinion…one of the greatest golf instructors in the world.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Absolutely Agree
He's good. Many people mistakenly think he's very technical but actually Leadbetter makes it simple. Teaching Faldo for all those years didn't help his "too technical" teaching reputation. Kinda unfair. He's taught MANY others as well. Plus Faldo and Nick Price had pretty damn good careers.
Garrett you should tattoo that mark Mr. Leadbetter drew on you. What a conversation piece. What an honor for you.Good Good 4 life!
I'm not joking, I was thinking the exact same thing.
I'm not a Tattoo guy but that's one I would seriously struggle with getting or not.
That’s so cool. Two legends were recently at my local Top Golf! I’mma try and go more often now
this is incredible and those around oblivious to the masterclass lesson going on.
Cant wait to work on this drill, thanks.
Amazing lesson, this is exactly what I do in my swing, no I know how to fix it. So simple how he explained it. Glad I found it 👍👍
THIS is a really good lesson for garrett, good job DL
Love those live lessons
Even the ball flight is different when it rises after the swing change. On top of that his swing is even more fluid than before. The shock continues.
This video was a game changer for me 💪🏻 thank you!!
I wish I had access to a coach with a fraction of Mr. Leadbetter’s skill and knowledge. Great video.
@hammockmonk don’t text that dude major scam
This is really great to put together with bubbie’s video. Bubbie needed more help with the takeaway, Garrett with the rest of the back swing and downswing
Now I can see why all those years ago Sir Nick Faldo chose Mr Leadbetter to change his swing.... That guy has forgotten more about the swing than most of us know...
Respect... Great vid
I needed this
David knows his stuff! Great advice
Awesome lesson thank you for sharing the knowledge, hope I can use it in my game
Thats insane, I have never picked up more from a video thanks for sharing G
His (Leadbetter) takeaway clip on the club is one of the best training aids I have ever used. Highly recommend!!
Great players don’t need much. Your flow is so nice in your swing!
Really helpful I needed to see this thank you!
Hello Chris how are you doing today?
Started taking lessons and I gave my guy all these things I wanted to do. He listened, nodded then we spent the next 2 months working my take away lol. I stopped getting lessons because it felt like a waste. fast forward three years and i am back and finally understand the "why". All that to say this and Luke's lesson with Mccormick are the best videos I have seen probably since Grant left.
Cool story bro
Fantastic video!!! Thank you...
Mr.David Leadbetter.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 great Golf instructor.
Crazy how much the back swing is important to the overall outcome!
i took a lesson early this winter because (among other things) i was pulling my irons really badly...an hour lesson with 40 minutes of that on my take away and back swing fixed so many things..
.still working on it daily but was super excited about it
@@qbclay2 I only work on it sometimes then try to work on other things then forget about my back swing maybe My swing thought should just be focused more on back swing lol too many thoughts at once I fat or shank it haha
DAVID! That gold Daytona is SICK!
The difference between a good and great coach is how simple a great coach can make it seem
Great lesson
Quality content lads. Amazing lesson 🍺🍺
I love Garrett’s chin on David’s shoulder. He’s so into it! 🙌🏼
i love this video. i wish I could get a lesson from David. just Wow
I had a lesson from David years ago when he was at Staverton Golf course in Daventry England
Great stuff
Garrett, we would love it, that if you incorporate this lesson into your swing, to bring us along on the journey, i.e. commenting on any improvements in your handicap as you go forward
I wonder how long ago this was, because I’m really excited to watch Garrett put it into action! I’m excited to focus on it myself as well
David Leadbeater - legend, period
He's definitely a Legend. Great tip
I have renewed respect for David after watching these videos. I was not a fan of the swing David prompted back in early nineties. But David appears to have evolved over time.
You can visually see the flight difference between the 2 shots prior to lesson (fades) and the 2 shots after lesson (straight with more bore in flight).
David is a swing legend for a reason.
So THATS why SungJae Im's backswing is like that! love this video
Great advice
Incredible David, you are a magic trainer ¡¡¡¡
I am blown away by the fact that he tinkers with the back swing and then invites Garrett to just load up and hit the ball…..and he stripes it both times from there.
I am nowhere near in this league but the part about twisting the arm to keep the club out in front definitely resonates with me. I know that I wouldn’t be able to apply this as quickly as Garrett did though.
Great video. Looking forward to see Garrett's swing in the next video. Leadbetter still one of the best.
This is a crazy good lesson.
I got a very similar lesson from a lad called Barry Power in Dublin about 12 years ago. He actually reckoned you could play well just by doing that half swing (ie the drill) but I never had the guts to try it.
Only problem with that lesson is that if you arent naturally good at making a good hip/body turn your arms can end up lifting anyway (this was always the problem I had). But if you are comfortable making the actual turn away from the ball that is an awesome lesson.
AMAZING LESSON ! You have a KILLER channel and so damn humble! THANK YOU!
Great instruction!!!!
wow. great instruction!
These tips are insane!
Thanks bro for sharing this.
This fuckin video changed my life! - for the better. My shots have been more consistent and playable. Simple tweaks, Great results! Thanks so much for this. I’ve literally shared it with every buddy of mine that golfs. Thank youuu
wow I learned more in 11 minutes than in all the lessons I've taken
Jarrett got his lesson
🤣
Damnit Mr. Levitan, you absolutely win with this comment! 🤣😂🤣
what wild is when you understand every little detail he's talking about. Golf is so crazy that when you finally get better you realize everything you thought you knew about the golf swing was wrong lol
That mark on the arm is brilliant.
Great coach
Lessons from Leadbetter! Wow, I'm so jealous of you guys.
Great to watch. Having watched James Robinson’s lesson with him, he kind of contradicts himself because he said if you start the takeaway well, not much can go wrong then he said yours is fine. What right do I have to question the legend but fantastic content
Wow really informative and just the lesson “l” needed without having to pay any money lol!!!
