What do you believe is the best cut of meat from a chicken?
Necks and backs
Whatever you like, no wrong answer.
Fundillo
People tried this online every place I saw said no 🤣🤣🤣
Dark meat!
No.
-- Costco meat department employee
lol
Lol the employee might as well as add as a bonus fu.k you I won't to what you told me.😋🤤🔥
🤣🤣🤣
😹😹😹
It's like that autozone prank: Send someone in to ask the attendant for blinker fluid.
I do this for a living. No, no we don’t. It’s 4.99, buy the chicken.
I was thinking like I’ve never heard of them or any store taking a whole chicken couldn’t get up and what happened to the rest they just throw it away? Just buy the whole chicken. The parts that you don’t want to eat. Put it in a pie soup. Making quesadillas. You can use the bones for broth no waste.
@Thugg12 exactly plus ITS 4.99. STOP IT.. u literally can use it all and it's still gon a be wasted cause wat is Costco gonna do with chicken
As a Costco shopper I thank you for doing the lord’s work 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
man if y'all don't leave the employees alone with a bunch of weird requests
Lmaooo
Um? How Much Do They Get Paid???!!!
@@kennethworthen8129 minimum wage usually
Right? It’s already just 4.99, just use the leftovers for a pot pie or soup or something.
@@Metzger23 exactly or what I like to do buy quesadillas ketchup mayonnaise hot sauce, cheese, lettuce and make a burrito actually eating one right now
I tried this today and they told me no, I have to cut it at home because they don't do that.
Lmao
Take the leftover chicken and make a soup with it... I'd NEVER have anything left to waste 😉👍🏽
Was just gonna say the same thing lol
Like, who wastes chicken when soup is so easy to make?
Or some chicken pot pie
Or chicken tacos...or chicken & rice or ramen...
Right! That female is making up silly reasons to lie.
Wyd with them bones? You make silverware with it?
"And....that'll still be $4.99, Madam!"
🤓
My suggestion - buy the whole bird, eat what you like as rotisserie with your preferred sides, and shred/pull the rest. That can then go into salads, pasta, or any number of other disehs.
Eat half, then throw it to the dogs 🐶
Pot pie 🥧🥧🥧
I would literally eat that whole thing. R.I.P my mom would get us one to ourselves we would sit in the car and eat the whole damn thing. 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
My father used to do the same thing with me and my sister. R.i.p to your mom & my pops 🙏🏾
@@oliverlacey3765 Yeah. 😉
Holy maybe that’s why she passed away take care of your health girl and be safe you Battyman
@@gtbana8057 that was disrespectful and rude. Who are you? Remember you reap what you sow.
No do not ask the meat department to cut the chicken for you we only deal with raw meat
and dont ask deli either.
@ButterASMR right as if we even have the time to do that. Between 4 ovens, ribs and wings, skewering, trash, dishes, prep, we don't have time to be cutting chickens
Check the meat case. Costco also have premade packages of legs/thighs or chicken breasts of their rotisserie chicken.
And it's more than the damn chicken
A chicken for a whole family? I can literally eat that bloody thing by myself when I'm ferociously hungry 😂
& that employee is not going to be happy to cut piping hot chicken. Just cut it yourself when it cools in the fridge & put it in meals for the week like burritos, soup & casseroles etc. Or make chicken shredded bbq chicken sandwiches with sliced cheeses on rolls.
Also it won't be a meat department employee. Meat department strictly deals with raw meat
Yeah and let me tell you they are really REALLY enthusiastic to do it 😂😂.
Coz they would eat the leftovers?? Lol
Thx for FXing this up for everybody. Now, they may have to stop offering it at all. Thanks!
Trust me, meat department will not do this. They’ll get in major major trouble if they do that. It’s a health hazard if they bring that in.
I buy them 4 at a time and pull, vacuum seal and freeze the meat and make stock out of the bones. I usually end up with 8# -9# of meat and 3 gallons of stock...not bad for twenty bucks.
Than what’s the price going to be for half and quarter piece of chicken?
I was thinking the same thing
Prollya bit more for the service of the butcher
@@notakkkmember9565 true but you also don't have to deal with the bones and carcass so there is advantage tbh
IKR. It's like asking for a 6 pack of Carling Black Label. The clerk will look at you & tell you to just buy a case.
$4.99 + the cutting labor
just refridgerate it? Cooked chicken can last nearly a week
Facts
They won’t do this.
Bro 4.99 for a whole roasted chicken. I pay 15 francs minimum in Switzerland and my chicken don’t look that big, mine’s like a roasted fat pigeon.
I think that’s what you might eating folks
But with Costco you have to pay a yearly membership to shop there
@@pineapplesauce7499 that makes sense actually
@@pineapplesauce7499 its 60 bucks a year for membership. I think they just do that to make you go more often to get your moneys worth
there are so many variations of food made out of that leftover chicken tbh xD
It won't go to waste.
Make chicken sandwiches, tacos, put it in ramen noodle, etc.
Umm. I put the leftovers in the fridge and make sandwiches out of the meat the next day. No waste.
Chicken freezes very well also. Debone half the chicken and freeze it for a later use.
Nah man, just buy the whole chicken dude, its so good
Buy the whole bird, then use whatever you don't eat right away for soup stock. AMAZING!!
The breast I use for chicken fajitas. Some times I barbecue the legs, thigs and wings. The back I freeze and put in a soup.
Miss Arthur Treacher's...nothing has adequately replaced that.
Chicken is ok .
Stop saying hack. Everything is a damn “hack” now a days.
I just eat the entire thing at once like a savage
in your underpants probably
Waist...I've never waisted rotisserie chicken. One for me please.
* waste 👍
The meat department cuts raw meat. They should not cut up a cooked chicken.
Don't worry. Costco does not cut rotisserie chickens at all in any department. This video is giving false information
Absolutely without question Costco's chicken is beyond fantastic. BUT I've heard the sodium level is high which is sad. I do watch sodium content on everything.
Cause they brine the chicken in salt water, making it juicy but also weigh more. So it's not actually 3 pounds when they first get them.
@@treytavares1727 well most well executed roast poultry does involve a brine. otherwise it'd be flavorless or at least for chicken it would be. duck on the other hand... 🤤
There is so many dishes you can make from this, or freeze some of the meat. I can't believe in today's world and prices anyone would waste it!
Eat what I want, make stock from. the bones, make soup using the stock, the leftover chicken, some veggies, and some rice or pasta.
Good stuff!
Ya right them guys at the chiken station look miserable
Rotisserie chicken at Costco is great, cooked very well fresh and delicious.
Thats silly. Just use the rest to make other meals or cut and freeze the rest for later.
I don't eat the whole chicken for one dinner but I use it for other meals. Chicken salad Ceasars salad. It goes along way.
Costco and Sam's sell their rotisserie chicken prepackaged like white meat only or darkmeat only, but I didn't know you can choose the amount and this seems far fetched
I’ll buy two. Drop one off at an elders house and then I keep one, take all the meat off. Boil the bones down to make amazing stock and grind the bones for meal for my animals.
Try it✨✨love you Costco!
same, but I feed the bones to my dog. I use prunning shears to cut the ends of the bones for my dog (the center of the bones are hard and splinter. the tips are cartiledge and softer bone) they always get excited when I eat chicken because they know they will get a treat as well
We buy often and taste good very good quality and good price
It's cheap just buy the whole chicken. Rip all the meat off put in a container then the fridge. Combine it with something another day.
I work at Costco and sometimes I work in the deli. I can confirm we do not do this for members lmao. If you ask stupid request you get stupid answers.
In Australia ! Costco sells chickens at $6.99 and I thought that was cheap , cause our supermarkets sell the cooked chickens for $11.99
different exchange rates between AUD and USD, combined with localized pricing based on local supplies probably
a chicken like that ends up six meals for me 1leg and thigh 1 meal next half another night open face sandwich for part of the breast then reg sandwiches then there is chicken salad then soup
My famlies solution to this problem. Is to be bone the leftovers and use the meat in soup in the winter, and chicken salad in the summer.
The rotisserie chicken is good price for $4.99 ! The chicken is about 5 lb and more of them are same size. Not like others grocery stores the rotisserie chicken are smaller and cost more. They don’t look that good like Costco rotisserie chicken is looking better! 👍👍 I shopping at Costco sometime and I would buy a rotisserie chicken there.
If you ask, the Meat Department will grill your steaks and wipe ass too...
They have the best chicken I’ve ever had!!!!
Feed a family? I go through a full one of these myself in a single sitting
Meat cutter can't cut cooked chicken
They tested this and none of the Costco's did this 🤣🤣
I've never had a Costco rotisserie chicken go to waste. I can eat half of one in one sitting.
Yes. There’s a $10 carving fee.
- from a former deli manager
I used to help out the meat department at a Costco. This is 100% NOT true! Remember the meat department is basically a freezer inside and the chicken will cool down by the time they finish. Plus no one will do it cause we've never done it
Make congee for left over, you will falling in love again, i guarantee
It's 4.99. Buy the whole chicken and cut it yourself. No one is forcing you to eat all at once.
Man just take the whole bird home
I used to eat one of them for lunch every now and again when I worked a labor job.
It's called buy the chicken eat it and use the carcass for a stock. Easy peasy.
I have a breast or two then throw the rest in a pot with chicken broth, boil for an hour or so, de-bone and add some veggies and a little salt, great soup for at least 6 meals! You can freeze some too!
Who doesn’t finish the whole chicken? It’s so dang good
If you cant eat it all fine just eat it cold nect morning on some toast or non toasted bread with mayo or butter for non mayo eaters thats the best breakfast ever
I worked at the meat department in Costco for almost a year, and I can tell you that this doesn't work. We just tell you that we don't cut the chicken in half, trust we have had many requests like this.
Every bodybuilder's dream - cheap protein 😋
For the second time, I bought a roasted chicken at Costco Canada, both times, the chicken was not cooked enough, they were pink and could not dismember them by hand, I had to cut them with a knife and give them to my dog. I do not eat any meat, however I bought them for my wife, they were not safe to eat, but the dog enjoyed them because of the pink stuff in them.
Or just… Put leftover chicken in the freezer for a later date. Make chicken soup, chicken salad or chicken pot pie with the chicken you don’t eat the same day. Easy!
I HAVE 5 CATS,AND THIS IS PERFECT FOR THEM. IT LAST GENRRALLY 1 WEEK .PLUS ILL MAKE A SANDWICH OR 2 OUT OF IT!!,EXTREMELY COST EFFECTIVE 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I use to work in the chicken room at Costco over 20 years ago and uf there was any leftover and sometimes over 20 chicken would be leftover the manager would make me though them in the trash and no employees would be able to take one. So stupid back then.
Or you could just freeze it and/or make stock with the leftover meat. I’m literally doing that end rn 😂
Looks good make sandwiches with this pickles, also have it with rice, n potatoes
3# for $5 😮 It would be enough for my family for the whole week.
I’d take all the meat off for taco enchiladas quesadillas empanadas taquitos chili lasagna and use the bones for chicken soup, ramen broth, pho or just broth to drink for a cold tummy. Mmmmm
Brilliant! Less chicken, same price!
Can you request the chicken skin only?
They brought chicken farm in Nebraska for this !!
I Hope they will have ORGANIC Chicken soon‼️‼️
My dog loves all of that chicken and the price comparison to canned food is better
But does the price adjust......????
Who ever had left over Chicken wasted 🤔⁉️
Always have ways to eat COOK chicken 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Probably cost the same. I can't imagine charging for ½ of a SKU.
It makes great chicken salad, very tasty! My daughter makes chicken this way, fancy chicken salad and it is so dang yummy!
Still a great deal. Thank you Costco❣️
feed a whole family.........1 chicken.....
used to eat 3. nowdays after getting older i am down to 2
Buy the chicken, use what you want. Whatever’s left you put in a pot and turn into stock or chicken noodle soup. The most waste you will have is the plastic in came in, the bones, and maybe some veggie scraps for compost
Funny seeing this because yesterday that I went to costco, a lady was asking a meat department worker if he could sell her half of a package meat, they employee said no that they arent allowed to do that. Costco is bot they kind of store where you can buy snaller portions.
The meals I like to Make are :
Chicken 🌮 tacos
Chicken Enciladas
Chicken pot pie
Green chili Chicken stew
Chicken and rice
Chicken salad Sammy
Chicken Cesar salad
just buy the whole chicken😂
And I noticed they don’t put junk ingredients in it either. I hate when I buy meat that has crap like corn syrup and a bunch of random stuff in it.
I already knew it wasn’t true before reading the comments. Of course they wont do that😂
I feed The leftover chicken to my backyard chickens
PLEASE don't do this at a Costco! And PLEASE don't mislead people with this video! It is actually against FDA regulations and Costco policy for meat department to cut it for you. Thats literally cross contamination between knives cutting ready to be eaten food with knives cutting raw meat every single day. And no! We will not tell you HOW or what to cook with it. Your a grown ass adult. You figure it out LOL
What waste, Chicken Salad, Chicken Divan (Chicken&Broccoli Casserole) Mock Chicken Noodle Soup, Chicken Enchiladas. Chicken Pot Pie.
So. We ask an attendant to cut the chicken up to save on waste?? What do they do with the pieces we don't want? I'm guessing throw them out? Oy Vey!
I ask them to shred it and make quesadillas with the tortillas and cheese im going to purchase. Muy bueno!
Nope! Don't even ask
-costco employee!
And what they’re going to do with the other half or quarters??? Would you pay a reduced price for the portioned chicken?
Just buy the f’kn chicken for 4.99 KAREN!
Who the hell is wasting these? I make it a game to maximize the amount of meals I can get off of one.
