16:22 the mchoro also means drawing that made alot more sense than diagram virtually no native would say diagram nice if we were to translate it directly. Another reason why duolingo is a tad bit constrictive
Dont know if you’ll. See this im kenyan. The spanish i guess is because of actually Portuguese influence. Portuguese first colonized the swahili area and the language borrows a lot
Assalamualaikum isn't an Indonesian word it's like saying hello in Arabic and because Indonesia have the most muslim population a lot of people say assalamualaikum
Those are exactly the bits that get stuck in the back of my mind 🤣 I might not be able to have a functional conversation in Swahili, but I'll probably never ever forget "Hodi nyumbani"
i speak italian (kinda) and i have this with that spanish duolingo man's voice - could i have a conversation with an italian? probably not. do i remember precisely what "queste cittá sono deliziones" means? yes
12:36 the words are semi accurate ninakuja would be i am coming and not i come see how big of a difference that is? Duolingo is good for learning basics but to learn word inflections and what not i think youtube video's are worth it but i dont think youll be doing that since you seem busy but good video ❤❤❤
18:48 when you pointed to nyanya i chuckled because most swahili people not coastal ones prefer nyanya for grandmother instead of bibi for grandmother isnt that just sweet?

You’ve inspired me to try and speedrun duolingo, gave up on the first 10 minutes. Love your ability to do this
Thanks! You do need a bit of patience 😂
I appreciate the effort put into editing these videos. That intro was amazing!
Glad you liked it! Fun fact (for anyone who didn't notice), all the languages are grouped into families or close relationships in the intro.
Legend has it that somewhere out in the lands of Tanzania, you can hear jccbm attempting to speak Swahili.
Unafikiri wewe ni nani!?
@@jccbm I think i am CHEESE
Nimependa utangulizi wako
@@jccbm yeah I'm also learnings Swahili
@@jccbmI actually am doing Swahili on Duolingo so I didn't need to translate it to English, but I still did😂😂😂😂
Just wanted to say that I absolutely loved the intro!! I watched it at least four or five times over. And amazing video as always!
Awww thanks! It's probably my favorite one hehehe. A bit long, but it's worth it.
You: *spins the wheel*
Me, an esperantist: *nervous sweating*
Sal’! Mi ankaux estas Esperantisto sed mi nur parolas iomete 😂 MDR

Italian lite
I love the fact that you grouped the language families in the intro
😁 there's even a nod to the creator of Esperanto
@@jccbm that"s sick
And I don't know if you noticed this but all Swahili words end in vowels
Like Italian!
havent watched the vid yet but my god that intro
what a fucking work of art 👏👏👏
Thanks! It took me a bit but I was pretty happy with it 😅
Love your videos and editing so much! Keep it up dude :)
Thanks, glad you like them!
Wow i'm this early and you're learning Swahili. Nice intro!
fick = arrive tho lol
I put my heart into that intro 🤣
16:22 the mchoro also means drawing that made alot more sense than diagram virtually no native would say diagram nice if we were to translate it directly. Another reason why duolingo is a tad bit constrictive
Njema kazi wangu rafiki! (I just really wanted to tupe Rafiki)😂😂😂😂😂
U ya ya! I love this intro!
Thanks! Me too 😂
Mr beast: "don't say cheese for one minute and win 1 million dollars!"
jccbm: C H E E S E.
😥
I'm thinking about studying it because it's very close to Arabic actually
Yes there's significant overlap! And it feels way easier
Dont know if you’ll. See this im kenyan. The spanish i guess is because of actually Portuguese influence. Portuguese first colonized the swahili area and the language borrows a lot
Makes sense! Portuguese is veeery similar to Spanish, so that would explain it. Thanks!
What will you do now that Duolingo updated their GUI? How many units will be speedran?
Well it allows for quite some flexibility, I've already tested Unit 1, 2 & 3 and it's all within manageable range 👀
Can't wait for you to learn Xhosa
RT
Assalamualaikum isn't an Indonesian word it's like saying hello in Arabic and because Indonesia have the most muslim population a lot of people say assalamualaikum
Makes sense! But I believe it's been adopted into the language
@@jccbm No, it’s not adopted into the language. Only Muslims say that. Non-Muslims never use this word.
Habari!👋
Mimi ni Dom. Jina lako nani?
Jina langu ni Oussama. Ninatoka mmorocco. Na wewe ? Unatoka wapi ?
In French, Waldo is Charlie!
Wow, that's an interesting one 🤔
Mchoro chart (diagram) similar to how other cultures teach "to write" early on
damn that Shrek joke was funny

A way to remember fries in Swahili is that fries are called chips in the UK.
The beginning, lol. 🤣🤣🤣
2:02 i personnaly got "my horse is an architect" in russian

Guess I'm naming my next hamster "Chipsi" after all.
Who the fuck calls scissors mkasi, it is just makasi whether in singular or plural, thats one duolingo flaw i've seen among many others
he is alive guys
Am I really, though? ☹️
18:48 when you pointed to nyanya i chuckled because most swahili people not coastal ones prefer nyanya for grandmother instead of bibi for grandmother isnt that just sweet?
i practiced swahilu when i waslike 7 or 8. i gave up after lik 3 months😭
Bibi is "grandmother" in Swahili? A word for aunt in Indonesian is also "bibi" and Turkish has it as "aunt" in some regional dialects only.
"Mchoro" also refers to "drawing". would have made better sense to refer to Drawing than Diagram for beginner level 😁
rodeo stampede music?
😁
How do you get the course in the old style, mines updated
This was in August!
AAA LOVE YOUR SPEEDRUNSSS OMGG im pretty sure ive watched all of em in your channel B) HAVE YOU done spanish tho?
Not yet, but some things in life are inevitable 👀
@@jccbm OOH AHAH looking forward to it then B)
that intro is on POINT its so beautiful and realistic
It might appear again later on 👀
I looked at the thumbnail and thought you were gonna speedrun Jamaican, 2 second later i realized that is not the flag of Jamaica.
Swahili is a syllable based language. Most syllables in English mean nothing by themselves while Swahili is the opposite. Most syllables have meaning
I learned afterwards about verb conjugations and how each syllable indicates time, person, etc. Very very interesting and awesome, quite logical also.
Spanish is really "Abuela", but for short we say Abu
fun fact im a kenyan who knows swahili
nice intro
