I cook every day but have always been frightened of cooking Indian food, but you have changed all that. I cooked your Madras for 16 people (after doing it twice before) and have today made this Biriani (you forgot the peppercorns in the ingredients list). I'm hooked. Thank you so much. You have changed everything for me.
I started trying to cook these meals 30 years ago and failed dramatically. Persevered on and found a celebrity chef who went to India, quite an improvement.
Your instructions and hints have us not going to restaurants any more and we are invaded with friends wanting dinner at our house. The most valuable ingredient you add is LOVE. Thanks

Just amazing to watch you cooking but I am wondering what happened to the bryani dhall i think you call it masoor dhall other wise lovely
And sumac.
South Africa Capetown it's like i can SMELL THAT BRIYANI 😂❤
Where is the restaurant located please 😊🙏
I purchased all the ingredients and made it today. Visitors and family members, we all thought that it was delicious ❤
How many people does this dish serve?
I am a Pakistani, and Biryani is kind of our national dish😄We always add tomatoes to Biryani and I think they add a very rich taste , also a few lemon slices on top of rice gives an amazing aroma, thats the only difference I noted here.If you dont have aloo bukhara, tarmarind also gives a kick to taste. This recipe also looks good,I will try it.Good job!
But why did he throw away the flavor full water in which he cooked the rice. It would have added a lot of flavor and richness of the spices to the overall taste if he would have cooked it with the right amount of water.
@@silvyzachariah1221 i was thinking the same thing what a waste of flavours. He should have cooked the whole spices at the time of frying the onions ginger and garlic and right after added the chicken
@Silvy Zachariah try to taste the water used to boil all the spices and you will know why
Hi I’ve cooked this recipe a couple of times and it certainly is delicious, I’m not a fan of tomatoes unless used for a sauce, therefore I loved the fact there was no tomato in his recipe, I have a love for lemons and limes so tend to use them at every given opportunity. 😊
I follow pakistani recipe .I think it's what I like the best. Greetings from Poland.
I made this tonight and finished eating around 10 seconds ago!! I felt that i needed to say how amazing this recipe is. I'll be honest that i didn't have all of the ingredients, i substituted the bay leaves for dried curry leaves, and i didn't have the dried plums. However, it had SO much flavour.
In south India we use Jeeraga Samba rice for Briyani. So good taste and easily digestible. Basmati rice not give that much aroma. In my place 2 dollar for basmati rice per kg but for jeeraga samba rice is around 4 dollar.
How would your recipe differ if u were making lamb?
An awesome dish. I used I few pieces of pressed seedless Tamarind instead of the dried plums. OMG. This dish is to die for. Thanks Latino.
Danny
You did the right thing. Curry leaves is usually for vegetable dishes.
Best recipe I’ve ever used, so simple, just two pans.

So yummy watching this at 12 at night and hungry for this yummy biryani... ❤❤❤
I know the feeling!
Just follwed this recipe almost to the letter (I always change it a little). Can't buy Aloo Bakhara where I live). Added a small amount of tamarind instead, added Panch Phoron to the Bhuna as well. It tastes utterly gorgeous!! I always thought Biryani was going to be far too complicated for me to cook - thank you!
I can send you some but you can also try dried prunes
It looks delicious and mouth watering thanks for sharing .
Mashalah very beautiful will try it
I made this for dinner today but I forgot to buy plain yoghurt and dried plum. I had to use my daughter's strawberry yoghurt and substitute plum with dried raisins. It turned out delicious, my fussy daughter rated it 9/10. Thanks for the recipe, I like it better than the more complicated version.
clever improv
I made this yesterday along with naan bread and the 4 of us round the table (ages 11-70) loved it. Finished off the leftovers tonight and this recipe is definitely on our hit list! Will make again for sure.

Making it tonight for my second time. This recipe is outstanding. My stovetop is a joke, so I finish it in the oven for the 45 minutes and then rest for 20 minutes. Can't wait to see how it comes out.
More than biriyani I loved your simple way explaining n keep saying Bismillah!!! Lovely!!!
Will have a go explained very well
This is the best Biriyani recipe/tutorial I have seen, initially I was a bit doubtful, but you've smashed it! I'm now able to have a go at a dish that in all honesty I thought was beyond my capabilities, well done!
I just wanted to come here to say thank you for this delicious Chicken Biryani recipe.
I went to the shop and bought all the spices, and I must say, 15£ was my best investment, because, this dish is just delish. I can't wait for my partner to come home now, to try it. And this is my first ever try at Indian/Bangladeshi cusine. And I cannot wait to try all your delicious recipes, as I have now a separate shelf for only South Asian spices😁. Thank you
Thank you so, so much!!! I am Mexican and have been looking for this recipe for so long, I just didn’t know the name of it. I tried it when my brother’s friend’s wife made it for us but they moved away. As soon as I saw the picture I knew this was the recipe. 😁❤️
Made this today. We loved it. Kids includes.
First try I burned the spices while toasting. So I replaced them and made sure the toast proces was light
I followed your instructions to the letter. I bought all the ingredients that I didn't have online.Dried damson plums, cinnamon, star anise etc... I am just waiting for the last half hour to pass. I'm so excited 😊😂
A chefs talent n skills is always tested when cooking at home..by going with what you have will play with the mind and bring out the true skills of a indian curry chef

Inspired once again.. going to make this today for my friends. 😁
I was searching YT today, to cook at my place of work at the hostel for young people for Xmas Day. I have 0 experience of cooking biriyani. The title intrigued me so I gave it a go. The way you talk us through the recipe I found was amazing, thoughtful and sincere. I always struggle with cooking rice perfectly. Your tips were amazing. I love how you recite bismillah all the time. may Allah swt give you great success.
I made this for lunch and both my husband and loved loved it. My house smelled amazing thank you Latif for inspiring me cook
Excellent video and amazing meal.

In Shaa Allah, this will be my GUIDE to making my first ever Chicken Biryani! With these steps, mine will surely be something my family will love the first time!
I like the way and approach of how you explain things it’s true we want a simple version of cooking as sometimes we are busy or in a rush or tired or even for beginners who are not that experienced in cooking , to simplify and quick and easy.not time consuming.
I’ve tried multiple recipes throughout the year but this is my go to recipe of all time.
Things I do differently are :
1. Use the oven for the end process with baking tray covered in foil at 200C ( Better heat transfer than stove) it’s more consistent throughout the dish.
2. Use chicken thighs cut into cubes ( Drumsticks are not my favourite and reheating it in the microwave is not ideal ) also thighs are juicer than drumsticks
3. Meal prepping is super easy !
Highly recommended recipe 10/10.
Wonderful food - Presented in an inviting way
Hello my friend. Yesterday I visited the Indian Grocery Shop for the first time. It was huge. I was able to buy everything needed for this dish. I am so excited. Over this coming weekend I will challenge this recipe. By the way, I removed all of the spices from their packages and placed them into glass jars. This way they will keep much longer. I included the expiration dates on each jar. Very important!!! At the same time I became familiar with each spice. A lot of fun!
Just finished mine.. The aroma is killing me☺️ when I read ur caption "no nonsense" I said that's my vibe and I must go with it. Thanks for the recipe ❤️🌹
i made this and it was amazing. I didn't have the prunes but I will put some in my next batch. Really good hassle free biryani recipe, its the best.

Wonderful ! Great explanation. Demonstration. Chef...you are awesome!
You"ve just won over another fan! I've always thought Indian cooks do vegetarian food the best. In fact, if I ever decided to go vegetarian I would go the Indian route, because of their use of a variety of herbs and spices. American Vegan food tends to be rather bland. Thanks so much for sharing how to make food taste so much better with the use of spices and herbs.
Cooked to perfection 😋❤

Just to add one helpful thing here if possible the Dried Plums mentioned sounding like "Aloo Bichar" is in fact Alu Bukhara available from online Indian spice sellers but in fact it's only what in the UK we call dried Prunes and you can buy them with stones removed sealed in packets, in any good supermarket. They are truly delicious and it's fair to say Raisins or Sultanas are not a good substitute.
I bought the proper dried plums in an world food shop last Saturday £3. Hard with stone in …. Sour sweet. Not what we eat we eat in breakfast.
