    @crochetniacs Thank you for sharing. I agree 100%. I get upset every time I find images from people misusing AI to create images to fool the public, especially to buyers, claiming the items they're selling is what we see or they claim the images are the real thing, etc. Makes us crocheters and artists around the world look bad. It's also a waste of time. The hours of the days fly as it is. But if we must set aside extra hours in our days to review and research if they're the real thing or not, just to avoid being scammed, then it's worth taking those minutes like you mentioned in this video, Bianca.

      There are so many scams out there, it's pretty unbelievable sometimes that people have the courage to do that and harm others. We are all working honestly, and making our way of living. Sometimes I ask myself: the amount of time they spent creating scams they could be honestly working too. It's a shame!
      Thanks for sharing your opinion with me!😘

    GIRL! You are constantly teaching me new things! I had no clue about AI patterns. But then again, I'm not an Instagram user and rarely go on Facebook. But now, I will know when I see an AI pattern. The first thing I noticed was the blurred out stitches. But the scissors! I didn't even catch that! Or the hands on Mario. How quickly our brain accepts the image as okay. Thank You for sharing this.

      My dear Mary, it is my pleasure to share it! I wish this video particularly could reach as many people as possible. Because I am seeing every day innocent people falling for those scams. And you are absolutely right: our eyes get used to the images quite fast, and we stop paying attention to some details. I am sure that after my explanation you thought it was so obvious!". But if we don't pay attention, we might believe they are true.

    The only time I’ve used AI for crochet is when I’ve had a hard time grasping a concept. I had someone ask me to make something, I did research and couldn’t find anyone who had done it. So I used AI to get an idea of how I could make it happen. Found great inspiration, and this weekend I’m working on my interpretation of that image. Fingers crossed!! But my original concept would of looked silly, lol

    • @LostApotheosis
      @LostApotheosis 9 месяцев назад +1

      Imo, that's what ai should be for. I'm an artist, I've used it for concepts, especially of backgrounds, or when I have an idea of the vibe I want, but don't know how to capture it. I just wish ai was more ethically sourced. I'm hoping that legislation will put some restrictions on it, but those hopes aren't high.

      You are absolutely right! These are the benefits of AI people should be using! I still want to make a video sharing some proper uses of the technology, like the one you mentioned! Unfortunately, people always find a way to make wrong use of the things that are available to us.

    • @Crocheniacs
      @Crocheniacs  9 месяцев назад +2

      My pleasure! I consider this a very important topic in our crochet community and it has to be discussed!
      If you are seeing the same pattern picture being offered in different stores, it is probably (like 95% chance) a stolen product as a result of digital piracy. Don't fall for that too! That's why I always recommend buying smth directly from the creator. You know that it's legit and you support the person who is actually working honestly.

      @@Crocheniacs Thanks, I was wondering about that. I prefer legit makers and will always read the reviews and look at the photos to determine if the pattern is a good one. People can be so disappointing. Sigh.

    In the BEA AI image, minus the weirdness of the hand, the detail in what you can see: you see that she has 6 fingers on her crochet hand. With the grip she has the visible thumb, then you have her gripping with her pointer, middle and you see another finger, then below is like 2 counted pinkies. It is suble, and they are getting better at hands (AI). And while many people are whatever about it and don't care, it really does hurt the artist communities, for people who take years to tailor their craft as they do. Thanks a lot for a video like this to make the community more aware :)

    I have notice some very unusual looking arumigumi. Some I even magnify because the stitches just look too "perfect" and the hair never looks quite right. I had no idea AI was involved.

    I came to your video, just out of curiosity because of the title. (I do crochet, but it’s been a while).
    AI- it is making “waves” in all creative outlets, as well as other areas.
    I belong to the “world” of adult coloring. I now know that AI was around a little while before this, but it made itself really known last year, especially towards late Spring/early Summer, in this genre of creativity. That is when the onslaught of AI created images to color, really started flooding the market. When I first started seeing the flood of these images, I wasn’t sure what I was seeing. What I did know was that, while they were images that the individuals were coloring, it wasn’t what I was use to seeing. It just had a different “feel” to it. I knew that the images had to have been made differently. Then the controversy started. For and against and then actual artists that draw images for us to color started piping in with the fact that their images were being stolen and incorporated into many of these images. It got really nasty.
    After about 6 weeks or so last Summer of seeing so many of these images colored, all I have to do now is, take a quick glance and I know whether it was an AI generated image or if an artist actually drew it. While some of those that use AI to generate images to color are doing a great job with editing the mistakes out and “produce” some really nice images, there is what I consider a problem. To me, personally, it all looks “generic”…..I am not sure if generic is the right word or not. I guess what I am trying to say is, that almost ALL of it has this same “look” to it, after a while and it doesn’t matter what the subject is, whether it is portraits, animals, flowers/nature etc.,….it just looks the same to me. Like there is no personality behind it, which in the end makes sense, since it is done using AI to generate it. Give me an image that an artist actually drew any day. I don’t care if they used a stylus and a tablet to draw the image, or if they used good old pencil, ink and paper, to draw the original image, they still had to do the drawing themselves.
    AI is still “new” and so people are fascinated with it. I sincerely hope that in time, things will at least settle down and die down, at least to some degree in regards to it. Some people, unfortunately, don’t have good moral compasses and don’t care if the art work has been stolen. I realize that it can generate some really “neat/cool” images, but the problem is that some people don’t have a clue that these images, as you stated, aren’t real. They think that they are real photos, not realizing that such things don’t exist in reality….and what is even sadder is, that at least some people who have created F.B. pages to promote this type of “art”, when challenged about it not being “real” photos instead of admitting it to their followers and willing to have a discussion about it, will simply “block” the person who has made the claim, without even trying to make a comment to the individual. There is no accountability and that is kind of scary.

      I am glad you clicked on my video and it caught your attention! Thanks so much for sharing your experience with AI and your creative work. That's why I mentioned in the beginning that I see some serious issues for the whole craft and creative community. I knew AI was present in different forms of art, but I was not aware of how exactly it was being used for coloring. Having our art stolen hurts on so many different levels! Sadly, some people don't care and as you said don't have the moral compass. I really try to focus on the good ones who support me, because otherwise I would get crazy!
      Thanks again for sharing with me, and welcome to my channel btw!😘

    Minka said to me she will listen to your RUclips videos while she is doing her crochet... she says she loves your problems 🤣 last night she got so excited when she started listening to this one. She screamed: 'mummy, mummy, Bianca is super angry!' 🤣 so we were doing our crochet, listening to this one and we agree. I saw thumbnails of youtube videos with these AI crochet images and clicked to see, then I went: 'what the heck'... just music and images, lots of unreal images... I never saw your video back then and did not know this is a new trend but it was instantly obvious that these images are not real... and so many many many subscribers and likes and comments!!!!!! hardly could believe my eyes that people would fall for these images and praise the uploader for doing such a good job... Good Job, AI... even in my niche there's lots of AI content and it blows my mind that people buy it.... the masses actually do! well, I suppose we all learn by getting things wrong and when people are tricked and have a bad experience with AI, then they will learn to investigate and do the research, like you said. It takes a few clicks, not hours, then you can see if it is a true human with true offerings or some scammer... thank you for your uploads, Minka is truly entertained, she listens while she crochets and you make her giggle happily and your enhtusiams really rubs off. Thank you for sharing your gift 🙏

      I am laughing SO HARD here! Let me tell you a big secret now: I was very angry, and the topic really makes me mad! Especially because we are constantly studying and investing to improve our art, and it is crazy that people support those accounts, instead of real artists. But while I was recording, I was doing my best to control my anger BECAUSE OF MINKA! I was like "I have to watch my words, Minka and her friends will see this" 😂
      I didn't know people were using AI in your niche too 😱 This is crazy!
      I am happy to hear that she is having fun with my videos, you always make my day with your messages! Have a wonderful week my dear!
