  • Mixing colors using the 3 primary colors and gouache paint onto 4 color wheels, primary, secondary, tertiary and Quaternary. The method is important as it is the quantity or ratios used that gives you the means to reproduce accurately. When mixing your secondary colors- paint each of these on the appropriate section using 50 % of each primary to make the secondary. Use this method on the tertiary wheel i.e mix the same quantity or ratio of the primary with the secondary color to make the tertiary. Use this method to make your Quaternary wheel, i.e. equal amounts of tertiary color mixed with the color adjacent to it on the other side of the section you are mixing.
I will endeavour to attach or link the mixing charts at the bottom of the comment section.

Hi Yanpeng Chang. If you look in the description there is a link to a template you can download. I was using cool primaries in this demo. The text simply labelled the wheels, primary, secondary, tertiary, quartenary. Hope this helps. 😏

The blue is cobalt. I am using cool red and cool yellow in this demo. However the principles of mixing applied in the demo work for both cool or warm The results are different particularly when mixing browns. FYI see links below.

I mentioned the template as you would have hopefully clearer text. Hope this helps.

Thanks but since I'm in 8th grade class, I already painted colors in colour wheel. It is not hard since that Quartenary Color wheel has many colors like in real life colours.

Think of cyan, yellow(lemon) & magenta as cool blue, yellow and cool red - the mixing principle is the same but you get different hues - the ones used on this demo are warm red, yellow and blue 🤗

Nope it's cyan, magenta, and yellow. You can mix other colours to get blue and red.
