You can see how her teammate on Reece's right reaches to block the shot, shooting her hand straight out. If you've ever played ball you know that's the most common way of going about it. Now Reese makes the big circular swing, which does happen in games with aggressive players but the difference here is that she doesn't swing her arm from where it is. Oh no, she reaches back before throwing her looping head shot. When you fight this is how you throw a hatmaker, you drop your arm back so you have as much room as possible to generate momentum. She does this with an open hand to disguise the blow as a block but strikes Caitlin with her forearm on the side of the head with enough power to send her sprawling. Watch it and you can see that if she hadn't chambered her arm for a strike she could have reached up and over CC fast enough to block the shot. There's no doubt in my mind she was trying to hurt CC or knock her out.

Reese should be permanently removed from the team and permanently barred from the sport. The coach that allows such behavior should be fired. If this abuse is allowed to continue the college that Reese and the coach belong to should be barred from competition in the league. If this sort of abuse goes unpunished it could escalate into abuse that could result in permanent disability or even death. If this abuse involved a white player abusing a black player it would be called "racist" and result in a lawsuit. Clark has been abused by other players in other games and so this is not an isolated incident. There is a need to put a stop to abusive behavior by federal law as the federal government did in respect to football in the early part of the twentieth century!
