Thing is, it's kind of pointless to bring because they're using it for small quarters, and that's not mentioning the fact that it uses 9mm ammunition.
they're going up against aliens and kevlar-wearing security guards with access to 12 gauge combat shotguns. bringing 9mm submachine guns was fucking stupid on their part. hell, in the alpha they brought m4s.

The new mod sounds more realistic. But one thing that was nostalgic and epic about half life , was the sounds the game made weren't like any other games.

Fun fact: the Tau cannon is using the door sound from Doom but it's a stock sound from a website, I don't remember the name of the website but the sound is "future_door" or "sci-fi_door" or something like that.

You know what always bugged me about the game? It was that the deaf grenades never came out of the center of the screen like they did in the original Half-Life. They came out from the side and it really made throwing the things difficult as they could bounce off of the walls unintentionally and fuck up your throws.
Fun Fact: The model used for the HL1 revolver isn't the original model, that weird laser vision thing at the end of it isn't supposed to be there
Its the multiplayer model, its even there on the steam retail version of HL1.
My guess is Valve made it to reflect how that one can aim while the normal singleplayer one can't.

the weapons i prefer:
Crowbar-New (makes you really realise how strong Gordon is)
Glock-Old (Has one of my favourite gun sounds)
Revolver-Old (Again,has one of my favourite gun sounds)
MP5-Old/New (old=really click-y reloading sound/new=satifying sounds all toghether+real military way of reloading weapons)
Shootgun-Old/New (Old=Satisfying sounds all toghether/New=ALSO a different type of satifying sounds,alltoghether+SNIPER-SHOOTGUN)
RPG-Old (Just the old nostalgic soudns)
Grenades-New (Actual Accurate Physics,not just bounce a bit to the end,and that's it)
Tau Cannon-New (Nicer Visuals,added in some details that were not in the old,the sounds too are awesome)
Gluon Gun-New (Makes it so it sounds like a normal plazma gun,not summoning a half headcrab-half gargantua)
Sachel Charge-New (You can trow more that 1 at a time)
Hivehand-Old (Basicaly again,the sounds are nice,kind of)
The best thing about the new shotgun is how you can gib things with it
I especially love the BM tau and gluon, everything about them just screams power!
half life 1's gun sounds were definitely better, the guns actually sounded powerful and each sound was so distinct

Why literally *nobody* can learn to showcase singleplayer version of HL weapons?! Every time I watch these videos I see the same revolver with laser sight and the same crossbow with exploding darts, which are not explode if you using scope.
The same goes to HL2 weapons. For some reason multiplayer versions are slightly different from singleplayer versions.
P.S. At least you're not showing HD models.

When I played hl1 it had the strangest skyboxes... like it was literally a box, and on the helicopter level you could see it flying in and out of the skybox lol.
my only real gripe (and this may be a dumb one, but whatever) with BM is with its revolver. the original HL revolver was a Colt Python, not a Magnum .365.

The crossbow part. Both in original HL and BMS, crossbow have different behavior in SP and MP. Yet you are comparing HL's MP crossbow to BMS's SP crossbow. You started a MP game in HL, yet just used map command to get to the crossfire map in BMS?

Black Mesa is quite literally the only shooter I've played that gets the satisfying clacking and racking sounds of guns down to a T. Excellent sound design at work here.
