I'm glad you educate people on the laws and fish consumption. I once worked for an environmental testing company that ran tests for heavy metals in the fish. The government would send dead specimens in ziploc bags and we had to turn the fish into a paste using a blender. This is called "getting a consistent sample." It was a stinky job, but someone has to do it. ;p And because of that job, I don't want to eat anything around here. The Texas waterways are heavily contaminated by the fossil fuel industry. It's getting better because the Houston shipping channel doesn't spontaneously catch on fire any more, but there's still a lot of work to be done.
Hey, Leo, have you ever fished below the falls OPPOSITE the Art Museum? My grandfather and I used to go there when he was alive. Tidal waters - we used to fish the tide coming in. Parked in the construction turnoff on the river drive, crossed and climbed the wooden fence and made our way carefully down to the river. Fished as close to the falls as possible (there used to be a fish ladder there, so we couldn't get too close). Primarily fished for catties, but we caught eels, stripers, white perch (I think), and even blue claw crabs would take the bait sometimes. Always catch and release. We used shrimp, night crawlers, and chicken livers.
You are having a lot more success this January than I am Leo. I have a grand total of 1 missed bite and no fish landed yet this year. Hopefully the tide turns this weekend. Nice catfish.
I like when you go to places like the Schuylkill River, Leo. I have never been to the East Coast but it feels like I have because I am so familiar with some of your fishing spots (through the videos). You are on fire in 2023, my man, keep up the great work!
@@extremephillyfishing like I said earlier on one of the comments you got a good sense of humor you're the type of guy I would love the hang out with you and fish with you
You’re looking great and looks like you’re feeling great, Leo. Loved the video as always. I really want to get into catfishing again. This video is giving me the urge. Lol
Sunnies and Crappies in the Mercer County NJ lakes and ponds, no bass and no kitties or anything for me in the Delaware. Might have to hit Barnaget Bay in Seaside get my fish count up like you!
You didn't let me know Leo ! I could have met you there ! 💔😭🤦🏻♂️ Actually, the fish bite much better just below the dam. Near the long steps. Just beside the wall is great for jigging black crappie. Nice size. Got my p.b. Large Mouth Bass there, my first Walleye and my first Shad. I have a photo of a 40 inch catfish taken there.
Every time I shoot a video right below the dam, half of the community cries for spot burning, even though EVERYBODY already knows about that spot. But still...I have to think about the community, so, sometimes, for videos like this, I bring the fishing pressure somewhere else. I will stop by the dam later this year.
@@extremephillyfishing yes, it is a popular spot when the weather is nice and there's always someone hogging it to themselves with no regards to share with other anglers. 🤦🏻♂️ Tight lines Bro ! Have a blessed Chinese New Year ! 🕊️🙏💖🎣🐟
Haha some where along there is where that chemical leak was from that pipe under water. You called Fire Department because it looked like a toxic leak lol
Here kitty kitty! Overcast days with light precipitation give me the highest confidence. Pennsylvania 3 rods, Wisconsin 2 rods.... Canada 1 rod 😪 Not that I would want multiple rods for 1 species but many places I would love to not have to choose between UL and MH setups. Especially when travelling to new fishing waters.
Because Leo it almost happened to me out on Long Island New York I wasn't paying attention and my rod almost lucky I got it it was a big brown head catfish
my man leo, you seem dissapointed with how "small" those cats are. id be ecstatic to catch any of those! i live in massacheusetts, the biggest ive caught is like, half that size!
Yeah Leo I understand but if it was a bigger catfish that might go to like I said I learned a lesson from that out on Long Island New York my ride almost disappeared from a big brown bullhead catfish
If you are not using the fish heads as bait, you are really missing out. Just run your circle hook in one eye, and out the other. Hands down the best piece of cut bait. Lots of blood, and oil in the head.
NGT makes a weigh sling that has no poles; it's just mesh with some strings. That way, you can roll it up into a little ball in your tackle bag, and it takes up a negligible amount of space. It's intended for carp, but anglers of other species should consider using something similar; no need to damage the fish anymore than necessary.
Please elaborate on details about the camera you use and also audio equipment. I noticed that your audio is clear and about the same volume when your close to, or away from your camera. Thanks. Good Video as always.
What is the difference between an offset and inline circle hook? I know the offset one has a tilted eye but I don't know how they function differently.
I don't keep any fish I catch any more.they sell catfish at the Italian market in South Philly from the skukill river and plenty of people buy them even though you should not eat them.
I'm from Wisconsin too and we can fish with 3 poles idk what that guy is talking about. The rule is 3 hooks limit so as long as you got one Hook per pole it's fine.
The Inner Circle Subscription is $6 a month, Kevin. You can PayPal multiples of $6 or send it via Venmo. All information about those platforms (including Inner Circle perks) are listed in the description of the video.

Those Channel cats sure look healthy, they must be making headway on the pollution situation.

Heck yeah, Dardidus!! I hope you land some kitties soon. 😸
Good to see you at the Schuylkill river fishing. It has that nostalgia factor of 3-4 years ago. 😁
We can also have 3 total baits in Wisconsin. So if you have one bait/lure per line, you can also have 3 rods.
Great video and just in time for me to kick off my boots and enjoy! That dude would have lost his mind if he saw that flathead I got, hahaha 😆

I still have flashbacks from drinking water through a life straw from the Delaware River. I knew after I swallowed I effed up.
😬😬😬 Good to know that you are still alive. Hah..
@@extremephillyfishing Yeah I realize in an emergency situation great to have, but to just use it to use it not the best idea
As soon as I get back from fishing we got some new EPF content. Let's go!

Great winter catfishing Leo! I hope that you target flatheads on your species push in 2023. That's a lifer for us. So still looking for more tips.
Leo you always got to keep your eyes on your rod cuz next time you don't pay attention the rod is going to go swimming and you will be out a rod
I hear you on that, bro. That's why I got those rod holders. Hehe.

Any good spots near Royersford/ Phoenixville to fish the river?

I get them on eBay. Imported from Japan..link is in the description.
Not the most pristine or picturesque fishing spot around, but looks fun nonetheless! :) I need to find me an awesome Kitty spot like this around me.
3.6 pounds meow meow 😂
Nice one Leo, will try for african catfish soon in a private pond. Would u say i could catch one of those with hard lures?
I would say that for those, cut bait or organic bait is your best choice.
Can you use catfish as bait if you run out
You can. I have tried before, and I can tell you that it is NOT good bait in comparison to the Shiners..
I wonder if he sold his catch(es) to the markets in Chinatown?
I don't keep any fish I catch any more.they sell catfish at the Italian market in South Philly from the skukill river and plenty of people buy them even though you should not eat them.
