Thanks for the recommendations, it shows you're above and beyond martial arts techniques, you seek to improve overall well being and spiritual development. Thanks for your guidance. Oss.
While not specifically about martial arts, you might add Stretching Scientifically by Thomas Kurtz to your list of top books for martial artists; having watched some of your videos I can see that you mightn't need his advice but it has proven to be incredibly helpful to many of us mere mortals who are trying to get a bit better at our kicks... And it is probably a bit more practical and less philosophical than some of the titles you mentioned.
Wow man,you really nailed it,be a martial artist and not a partial artist...meaning:step away from, how to properly say, your ego and labeled mind paradigm, open your senses and realize that the more you learn the more it can help, and why is that important?Because we train martial arts for competitions but they are an essence of self defense and protection of your loved ones..and it is not a trivial matter,in the end it's the matter of life and death,of providing the future of the expierience of life to those you protect and to ones self! Thanks Carl for pushing forth this philosophical narrative in the game...the essence!Big hi from Norway ☺
Kyle, any chance you could link to the specific versions in Amazon (or any other good source) that you read? For example, there are many versions of Sun Tzu's Art of War on Amazon and many comments are critical of liberties taken with the translations. I've looked into getting that book before, but always ended up empty-handed because I never was able to determine which version was most loyal to the original writing.
lunchbeast thanks for your message :) great question! I wouldn’t be sure of the authenticity of translations to be honest with you! I’ve read various versions over the years but all in old school hard copy. Best of luck 🙏 Also my first name is Carl, but whenever I travel in North America in particular people hear my pronunciation as “kyle” :)
Nisarg Desai , many of the other actors who enacted fights with him got out of it full of bruises. He was determined to "make his name" with those movies.
👍👍👍excellent recommendations, bro. If you are just starting your journey of self discovery through martial arts, those are definitely must read titles. Some very deep insights from individuals that we could only dream of becoming. Go read , and then write your own book. 🙏
@@VanRoonMartialArts yeah definitely, I was wondering if you had one in mind you could recommend. I have trained taekwondo for many years, just wanted to read more about the history, techniques and philosophy, I thought maybe there was a good one you have used or have heard of. Thanks for the video btw. And congrats on your channel.

I recommend the book "Never grow up" by Jackie Chan
Not much of a martial arts book as it is an autobiography
Hi Kyle any chance you can give me the author of the Sanzu & the outerwar book. As I have the other two and read several times. Thank you Ennio

For help to future viewers 1. Tao of Jeet Kun Do By Bruise Lee 2. Art Of War by Sun Tzu and 3. Book of Five Ring by Miyamoto Mushashi .
Bruise Lee was brutal.
@@markymarco2570 yes he was an actor and was looking brutal on screen.
Nisarg Desai , many of the other actors who enacted fights with him got out of it full of bruises. He was determined to "make his name" with those movies.
@@markymarco2570 oh brutal means determination to make name or history. Agreed
@ASAP.69 Legit in movies no fighting record.

Is there a good book to study taekwondo wtf? I mean with the poomsae, the names of the techniques and all that? (with theory as well)
I'm pretty sure some determined googling will help you find anything you are looking for in terms of reference material!~
