- Stuck indoors at home? Here are a few 'recommended reading' books by Sensei Todd Ryotoshi Norcross on Japanese Martial History and Philosophy.
Learning Budo is not enough. Expanding knowledge of history gives us good perspective on today.
Books to read: the classical man by Richard Kim; classical bujutsu by donn draeger; moving zen by wc nicol; and last but not least: meditations on violence by Rory Miller. Enjoy.
Very glad to find your channel. Your approach to lifelong martial arts study is like mine in many ways. Thanks.
There’s something about “the Art of War “ that needs to be addressed : there’s many translations. In English I find the commentary most valuable. Last year I reread the translation by Samuel B Griffith.
Originally done in 1964,
It’s been peer reviewed.

If I had a particular book in mind, my number one would be a book that teaches skepticism and rationalism. Too many people get caught up in bullshido or vice versa what's popular atm and dismissive of all else.
one of my favorites you may already have Sensi Norcross is "the Zen way to the Martial Arts" by Taisen Deshimaru I first read it in the early 1990's and I often re-read it as always thanks for sharing
Want to share as well.
- Hara centre of Man

Thank you for the guidance.

Honestly history is what led me to martial arts.
Read Kempo by David Naimowicz
The Bubishi is a great read
Have you tried the way of the warrior?
The Harry R. Jackson Jr. book? Yes.
Do you like fiction? Did you read The Ninja by Eric Van Lustbader? ⛩
