This made me remember my trip to Culloden Moor which is very near the Clava Cairns. I saw the cairns first as I'm a prehistoric megalith lover and was impressed, spending over an hour examining them. One of the best of many Scottish burial structures. The site of the battle was as bleak as when it took place centuries ago and made more eerie by a deepening mist. Two marvellous historic sites well worth a visit.
I really need to visit the Clava Cairns. I do love exploring Prehistoric archaeology. The site reminds me a wee bit of Temple Wood, in Kilmartin Glen, Argyll.
There's something strangely fascinating about ancient stone structures. Especially when little known about them. Keeps it interesting too guess its origins.
Corrimony is another Clava type cairn, about halfway down the westside of Loch Ness and a few miles along the A831 road away from the Loch at Drumnadrochit. There's only 1 cairn and it is more intact than those at Clava, with part of the Cap Stone sitting at the site.

Thank you so much for watching. Yes, both are haunting in their own ways, and definitely worth visiting.
The rock art reminded me of The Plough constellation.
I think you're right. Thank you for watching.

I think so too. It's a great site to just sit and relax at. Thank you for watching.

Thanks for this. They're fascinating places but we know so little about them.
Good video, I hope to return to this site one day and make a film, Martin.
It's a great place, and very peaceful if you time it right! Thank you so much for watching.
