Having problems seeing my edits though they are applied but when I export they are there but too severe. Can you explain my problem? it is when I first apply nonoise and tack sharp, then go to edit and effects. Please do one on a complete processing workflow.
Thanks Jim! Downloaded earlier. Great update! Did wonders for a sunset drone shot! Looking forward to an M3 review! Currently using the 14” M3 Pro MBP in the 12/18/18 configuration and it’s been a rockstar for my use case.
Thanks Jim and yeah I am LONG overdue for Apple Silicon. This old Intel box is showing signs of age LOL. Thanks for watching and glad it is working well for you already!
Thanks Jim , great intro to the 2024 version. What is till unclear to me is the difference between micro sharpening and enhance detail in the NoNoise panel.
Thanks and that is a good question. Per the manual it is defined like this: 1) Micro Sharpening enhances small details 2) Enhance Detail works to preserve details that would have been lost in traditional noise reduction processes. Hope that helps.
nice examples. I am surprised with a sony camera your F/1.8 1600 iso and F4.5 3200 iso pictures are so noisy while we always read that camera go to 100000 iso. Is it as good as topaz photo ai, lightroom classic denoise and new dxo pureraw ?
Hi Jim thanks for the video. I've tried the trial version of ON1 NoNoise and its fine with landscapes and things like that, but with high ISO and human faces it just doesn’t do it and leaves the face looking like a bad plastic look! I've tried every setting but it's a no no sorry.
Oh man, sorry to hear that. I tried it on some portraits but they weren't really high ISO (only 1000 or so) and it worked great. But I'm not a portrait photographer so it's of great use to me for landscapes and cityscapes for sure.
I visually compared what this software does, compared to my latest version of Topaz DeNoise, and I didn't see much difference. Both do a fine job of handling noise. Since I already own Topaz, I just can't justify buying this software. I suspect photographers can use either software with great results. @@JimNix
@@SergNikiforovGordeev hi there and yes that is correct, I don't really use anything from DXO anymore. No real reason other than I have limited time and prefer other products such as Luminar, On1 and Lightroom. DXO makes good products so this isn't a reflection on that. I just have limited time to dedicate to this and can't possibly cover all the DXO stuff (and many others that I have tested in the past). So I spend my time on the 3 apps I like best and use most. thanks

Thanks Jim for the video. With the noise reduction software we have these days there is no fear in using high ISO values.
Totally agree Ken, we can do things we were afraid to do just a few years ago. It's impressive!

I’m pretty sure it’s coming to On1 PhotoRaw 2024 sometime in April as a free update to the software.
Yes that's my suspicion too just didn't want to confirm it since I am just guessing LOL.
Will you do a comparison with Topaz?
Good question and I will look into it. I am admittedly a bit behind on Topaz since I haven't been covering it as closely in recent months. Thanks.

Can't stop looking at the UAP ion the night sky photo lol😂
haha yeah me too, not sure what it was
Thanks Jim ! That was excellent 👍
thanks for watching!
It's due to be incorporated in the April 2024 Photo raw update.
Great video Jim and it looks as good as Topaz denoise ai....
thanks much and yes I assumed it was coming into Photo RAW soon, just didn't know when
Thanks for that info... I was wondering exactly that!
@@JimNix It says so on their website when you download the stand alone version :)
@@ivanfojan8859 good to know, guess I should check their website sometimes LOL
I've had great results with the noise reduction already and am looking forward to the new version.
Yes I think they have done a great job here for sure.
thank you!!
thanks for watching!
It's better than the 2023 version , but the new DxO Pure RAW 4 is even better ( have seen comparisons of them)
I like PureRAW but never use DXO Stuff anymore - but I agree it is good. I have not compared the two though.
@@JimNix Am I correct in understanding that you no longer work in DxO programs? didn't like it? If it's not a secret, why?

@@JimNix Thank you!
On1 nonoise ai turns all of my photos tinted purple, so I can't use On1 at all.
that sounds really odd, please check with their support team
