Thanks so much for your honesty. A lot of us feel anxious and or depressed these days. In the past, I’ve gone off my anti-deppresant because I’ve felt so good, only to have my (fairly mild, but definitely there) depression come back. I finally decided that for the foreseeable future I’m going to stay on it and not feel bad or embarrassed about it.

You got a TON done! Holy cow! That guest room was overwhelming, but you plowed right thru it! Even the pantry. Awesome.
I remember a tip I read years ago, and they said not to buy something until you knew exactly where you were going to put it (like your husband said). That has helped me countless times since then.

Thank you so much for sharing your story with anxiety; I also suffer from generalized anxiety and panic disorder w/ agoraphobia. And yes, it is crippling. It is SO hard when you feel alone, and like others don’t understand. Please know, you are NOT alone. Give yourself grace. You’re healing. Don’t worry about posting a million videos 💗 Hugs to you!!!

Thank you for talking about mental health. My hope is that one day we can think of taking medication for mental health as "normal" as needing medication for anything else. Wishing better days for you. 💛💛

Oh sweet, sweet girl, I so understand your experience with anxiety. I am almost 59 and have dealt with anxiety most of my life. I have had a successful career, raised my daughter and have two wonderful grandsons. I know my life seems perfect but I have struggled through it. However, I have learned to cope over the years and come to realize that I need medication. You should feel bad. If you are diabetic, you need insulin. If you have high blood pressure, you take a pill. Mental illnesses are no different. Our brains need help to function properly. There is no shame in that. Sending you all the love and support in the world❤

I have struggled with anxiety and OCD as well. I realized caffeine triggers mine. After going completely caffeine free I have become a different person. I still have occasional episodes but they are manageable now and not overwhelming. I hope you can find something to ease your anxiety like I did. Thank you for your videos. I really enjoy them.

Lauren, i just love your videos and that you show real life. My house looks like a tornado wiped through it during the work week with two boys of my own. We just clean and reset on the weekend and then repeat the cycle. I too was on medication for several years (Celexa) for anxiety, and then last year went on vacation out of the country and forgot my prescription. It was that time in my life where i decided to try to live without it. Fortunately, it has worked for me to be off the meds, but i still have rough days. Don't ever feel bad for needing to be on medication! I was at a very low, low place in life when i went on anxiety meds and it truely helped me to be a better mom, wife, person, etc. I just decided last year to try life without it and it has worked out for me. There are times when i am feeling the weight of anxiety, that i wonder if i made the right decision, but i will do something to get my mind off of it and it passes...much like you did with your pantry. I will clean, organize or even go through decor bins and closets to declutter. Life is too short to be unhappy, so take care of yourself even if it means you have to take something for anxiety!

Lauren, thanks for being honest. So many of us deal with anxiety. One thing that finally helped me was to get genetic testing done to determine what chemical I was actually missing so that the correct medicine could be prescribed. It's hard to wean on a new med, stay on it for a bit to see if it works, then wean off, all to do it again with another medication. The genetic testing took all the guess work out and made such a huge difference. Now that the meds are correct, I feel like myself again. Perhaps that would help you as well. I do know my insurance didn't pay for it and it was like maybe $300 but sooooo with it!

Lauren, I am so sorry that you have such crippling anxiety. I could hear your breathing in the video, and knew you were having a hard time.💔
I do totally understand how you feel. I started having panic attacks last Jan. I went to ER twice and even called 911 once. I swear I was dying. I have health anxiety and panic attacks now. I went to the Cardiologist multiple times last year as well, trying to get answers. I was sure something was wrong with my heart. I found a new doc who listened to me list off everything I had been going through, and she said she thinks I'm having PA. We decided to try an anxiety med, and after the first 2 weeks of he*l, trying to get acclimated to them, I started feeling better. I still have PA, but seldomly now. The anxiety is gone as well. We actually decided to double my meds, after having 2 bad months in the fall; and it's made a huge difference for me. I have never had anxiety in my life, so it was so crazy to me to get it at 48. But our parasympathetic nervous system does get wore out from stress. I had no idea how horrible anxiety is. It's so hard to describe and no one understands unless they actually have it. It hangs over you like a cloud, pressing down on you. I can't function when I'm feeling like that. I just sit in my chair and/or sleep. Now I can sympathize with those who suffer from it.
I was going to try CalmiGo. Have you heard of it, or tried it? It calms the sympathetic system down. Might be worth a try for you. 😊 Don't worry about being on meds for mental health, or care what people think. You do what you need to do, to have the best quality of life for you and your family ❤

Don’t ever feel like there’s something wrong with you because you need to take medication to help you feel better. I struggled with a little anxiety and depression here and there and I felt like I was weak for having to take medication to help me cope and function. But I’m a mom to several kids and life goes on and I need to be fully present and clear minded to take care of them so if medicine can help me then that’s what I’ll do. Just take it one day at a time!

Therapy helped me a lot when I was feeling overwhelmed. My therapist always said to not do too much yourself by yourself. So I began to outsource things to make life easier: I pay to have my lawn taken care of instead of making my boyfriend mow it, have a robot vacuum to help w/ cleaning, I cook large meals or buy local meal delivery to cut down on the number or dishes, own less things to not need to move as much around or clean around it, stopped buying single use napkins and other things and reuse old washcloth rags for cleaning anything. All this change has really helped. including the organization part. I just found I don't have the urge to buy as much.

Oh girl... don't feel any guilt about meditation or anxiety. I have been on every kind of anxiety and anti-depressants for most of my life, since i was a teenager. I'm only just now feeling like I'm on a combination that helps. Anxiety is often just PTSD (a fear trigger). That can be a huge event from your past causing worry of repeating, to something very small. This weekend I had terrible anxiety going for my first PT appointment after a recent injury. This is because of PTSD (trigger) from a bad Chiropractor experience over 20 years ago that caused me significant pain. You're very normal. Everyone gets burned out also. Have No Guilt!! It worsens the anxiety and it's a vicious cycle. God Bless

After years of dealing with this, my view is that I am SO THANKFUL there is medication for this condition, I probably wouldnt be here today if there wasn't. I think so many people struggle with this and keep it hidden from others, but you are not alone.

Please give yourself some grace. Life can be hard even on the best of days. The last several years you have been through a lot of stressful situations. The impact of those things doesn't just go away. Wounds take time to heal. Be patient and kind to YOU. You deserve it. Also, needing medication to manage your anxiety is not a bad thing. It's no different than someone who needs medicine for heart problems, lung issues or allergies. You'll find what works for you and everything will be ok. You are very loved and special. Don't forget that. ❤

Please be gentle with yourself. . Your honesty and vulnerability is appreciated. If you need some medication to stay balanced it is ok. If it was diabetes or high blood pressure it would not be an issue! Anxiety is a chemical issue and not something to muscle through. You are too valuable as a person, wife, mother, and all your other roles to deprive yourself of the ability to relax n enjoy the beautiful life you have. I wish you peace, again give yourself the grace you would surely give someone else❤❤

I've dealt with depression almost all of my young adult/adult life. Medication is a part of my life, and probably always will be. I have tried to go off of it myself a few times, but always needed to go back on. People think that depression and anxiety are things that you can change on your own. Sometimes there are reasons behind it, and sometimes it's something chemical in your brain. I've never really had any major life things happen to cause me to be depressed, so that's why I know it's chemical. I don't want to have to take a pill either, but if it helps me get through the day/life, then that's what I have to do. It doesn't mean you're not grateful for what you have or that the reasons why you feel that way are invalid. Everyone is different and no one should ever judge another for what they go through. I hope you start to feel better, even if it's by taking medication again. You are NOT alone, believe me.

Thanks so much for discussing your anxiety. I am on Zoloft, and had no idea that is possibly why I've gained about 20 pounds. 😢 I would love to taper off, but I also have to have meds to be normal and I absolutely understand. It took like 2 months of starting Zoloft to feel better and I don't want to go through that again. Ugh.
I've also been sorting, cleaning, and decluttering lately because I know these messes and excess clutter in my house causes anxiety.
Again, thank you for sharing, this video was exactly what I needed to know I'm not alone. ❤❤

You are a brave girl! Thank you for sharing your struggles we all have them but you are brave to express your troubles. I suffer from anxiety also, finally went off meds at my husbands behest. He thought they made me slow like slow motion slow thought. I've been off for a couple years and have mostly good days but some bad. I just slug through them. I wish you the best keep your head up! So sweet about your Moms new bed.

Good video. I also don't like having a medical condition I have to take medication for. I am glad, though, that there's medicine to treat it. Keep taking whatever you need to to be your best self.

Lauren I am sorry you are having a rough time. If it is any consolation, I think so many people are having a hard time. I wake up with the feeling of doom, something is going to happen and I am so jittery. I imagine the worst in every situation and can actually almost feel like I am having a car accident or sitting in the hospital which I am not. I find the only thing that helps is keeping busy and watching RUclips because otherwise I am shopping and we all know where that goes. But I know you are suffering and I feel bad. You are so sweet and such a good mom. The news of the world isn't helping, and I actually keep telling my husband not to tell me all the bad things he reads (he doesn't listen). he says you can't bury your head in the sand. But if I can't do anything about it and it doesn't affect my day directly, I don't want to know. I hope things get better for you as the weather gets better. Off topic. I love your mom's bedroom set. Where is it from? I live in NY and it is supposed to snow this week so I guess winter hasn't let go here yet. I love watching you because you are real and NOT in a perfect house that is always clean with the seemingly perfect life of traveling, and entertaining, with the perfect kids that don't make messes.

Thank you for sharing your struggles. You are so real and down to earth. I’m right there with you sad about needing medication to deal. My anxiety is nuts and if I don’t have the meds it’s even worse. Maybe one day we’ll be Med free!! ❤️❤️

Girl yessss! I can relate so much! I have just started going through my boxes from when we moved in a little over 2 years ago. I was pregnant when we moved so didn’t wear any of my “normal clothes” now I’m to the point where I’m just ready to donate the entire box without opening it.
