Hey guys! I decided to try and use my voice for this one just to see how it would turn out. I'm not a confident speaker or very good at voiceovers, but let me know what you think. Thanks for watching as always! Edit: On a side note, it seems some people are getting mixed results when using the mousewheel bind, but I can only imagine any positive yields are the results of a bug/unintended interaction which will get fixed in the S1 patch on Friday or soon after.
It’s so easy to just hold dmg boost, and when your team gets to around half, swap back to heals until they’re full, and repeat. Not sure why we need a convoluted tech for this, it accomplishes the same thing when factoring in time lost on each mode
It doesn't though. When you do it this way you get a higher uptime on the damage, and the burst heal is actually faster. It's been tested and proven, so this video is actually incorrect. It might depend on framerate (which is another issue) , but there are plenty of videos showcasing how this can be abused, and they included far more examples and demonstrations that are shown here.
And again, it could be fps dependent. We already know that FPS affects more things than it should, so you may need to be at a higher FPS in order to get the full benefit. There are also some reports that doing it this way can occasionally allow for attacks to happen in between the ticks, so you might miss 10% of the damage buff compared to just keeping that up 100% of the time, but of course you are getting more than the intended value from the healing at the exact same time during the full ult, which is nuts.
It burst heals faster when using the toggle method. There is a clip by Jay3 that proves it. So mixing your clip with his shows that using the toggling method is better at burst healing your low-health allies, but it's worse when you're facing sustained damage. You can defer from this that you should toggle spam at the start, but once everyone is healed up, you should go back to using it like normal.
Yeah i definitely noticed the healing difference the first time I did this stopped doing this immediately after and just opted to switching back and forth when it felt appropriate or sometimes never at all since I'm usually paired with a mantis or rocket who give out more consistent buffs while I focus heals
With the patch changes she won't be able to just spam between healing and damage boosting. Her ultimate is still crazy strong, but its a start at least
I do it but only on situations when we're winning a fight. If I notice my teammates are taking too much dmg, i just stay on healing but once they're all topped up, I just spam it so they still get fractions of dmg boost while still healing a decent amount. When doing it, it's basically an enhanced version of mantis heal but not as much as mantis ult.
Higher framerates actually currently make it heal for more so toggling is actually better at the moment if you're getting 120+fps. This will be fixed season 1 though.
Bind her ult to scroll wheel up and the secondary option to scroll wheel down, then try it out. spamming a key normally leaves too much lag between switching. Scroll wheel you'll be toggling it like 20-30 times a second, with normal key its maybe 5-6.
@@antistraightmenI'm testing it right now in the range and the switch spam tech is definitely noticeably healing faster. Not only do you get a dmg boost with the healing, but it heals _faster_ than just staying on healing It must have something to do with the number of switches per second. The heal ticks every set amount of ms. But you also get the first heal tick _upon switching_. So if you can switch faster than the tick rate of the default healing, it will heal faster. If you manually spam the switch key which is most likely slower (rip console) then it will heal slower This is why scroll input is recommended, hell even macros. Some mice have more inputs per scroll as well so it'll vary This is just my assumption however, there may be other factors I'm unaware of that is causing this. What's certain is that spam switching is definitely healing faster - the distinction is blatant when test healing a groot
@@tinybabybread Ive tested it 5 times on groot and recorded it to compare the differences with the switch tech, mouse wheel and hold setting option applied, every single time it healed slower than just keeping heals on so I'm not sure how its working for you, not once in any of the tests was it faster than just holding it.
it looks cool. And I think it depends on how fast you spam it, someone found that it can heal faster. I don't think you were pushing it to the maximum, for people with a rapidfire macro and you get it REALLY fast, it can heal faster
SOMEONE WHO FINALLY FOUND OUT THANK THE GODS. This in deed doesn't work no matter what you do cause of tick rate it honestly not really something you should use at all if anything. But it is fun you want to make the eclipsed happen for a bit, also it not hard to see tanks not getting heal cause of tick swapping that you get your tanks and dps kill to burst damage cause you decide to spam, just have game sense other luna main's -_- no hate just finally glad another play who found this out. I CAN FINALLY STOP BEING CRAZY DAVE
I just need to know one thing. Do teammates eventually learn how her ult works? Because everytime I cast it my team scatters because they think the circle is a fucking target indicator for a magneto that isn'tin the game. TBF, I just started 2 days ago, so I'm in noob MMR... but it hurts so much.
I have seen people testing this in practice range and it actually can do much more healing than not switching, did you think to test this first or are you just guessing lol
Yeah I tested it in the range, but only showed it with the punishers damage in the video to keep it concise. You can see a significant difference with mid range damages. Without massive burst, it would normally be difficult to kill Luna, but if they are spam toggling then it's possible with a few heroes targeting her simultaneously.
@@DTWolfYTyour video evidence is clear but I’m confused because I saw it think maybe necros try this mechanic because a high level luna told him it heals faster spamming and in the video it looked like it too. Their reasoning is that the toggling, if fast enough would refresh the tick rate and heal in faster cadences than without toggling.

You really should be more confident, really good video I’m tired of ppl spamming it I swear I die more when they do
This is a great video with great demonstration 👍
You have a good voice. You did fine and I didn’t even notice you lacked confidence. Keep doing your own voice work.
clear, concise, easy to listen, overall good delivery of voice. you should be confident.
Your voice sounds really good, man!

I’ve had teammates and enemies die to burst because the Luna is swapping between the modes like that, wish they’d put two and two together already.
It heals faster when toggling from my testing.
I have this mastured where i stop toggling if big dmg is coming but if there's little to nothing ill spam
I’ve been thinking the same thing. I personally don’t do it. I switch between the two when it feels appropriate.

This is how it should be done!
Yeah when I notice my team taking high dmg when I play the toogle kinda realize it’s not healing as effective

I immediately thought this was gonna be a bad idea, but i can't believe so many people doin this..

luna ult best ult not cuz everyone just dances around for 24 sec (36-48 if there is a loki or two)
its cuz u do a tactical flashbang on EVERYONE!

DPS mad because they can't kill all the enemy team with their locked on burst damage ult.

I just stay in heal mode. I rather have sustain over damage.
Bad idea. Youre losing out on a lot of potential damage. 40% damage boost is nothing to scoff at.

You get high enough elo and the meta is pretty much defined by Luna/Mantis ults, but until then I guess just voice comm and hope for the best haha
this shit is genuinely so boring cant wait until they gut it
Honestly couldn't agree more. I think Luna and Mantis ults both need some massive nerfs for the sake of counterplay.
