hi! a veteran Marvel Future Fight player here! the funny thing about Luna Snow in game is that she is consistently buffed by the dev team, which always puts her in the top meta position since her debut. so in game Luna is literal must-have character for all players, therefore boosts her popularity ingame a lot she's not entirely paywalled, since new players can pick her up through a one-time premium character selector. but then the devs half-paywall her by lock her power under a skin that only sells once a year during christmas. it's very dumb to promote your own original character while also half-paywalling her like that
Just a little correction - her new uniform is paywalled and can only be accessed every summer. Nevertheless, her being consistently buffed and her being top meta in the game whenever that happens is probably the reason why players love her in that game. Setting aside the issue of mobile games thriving of predatory practices with their in-game currencies - even if you fork in the money, you get the most bang for your buck in the PVE side of the game just by simply building her up to the max.

I think they were going to make a movie and records. but things went wrong and the movie didn't end up happening. but we still got Dazzler out of it as a character who has become a mainstay. also i think i saw in some text that she was originally going to be designed off of Grace Jones, but one of the higher ups changed that. that's what i loosely remember from one of the essays on obscure topics on RUclips and this article i came across years ago.

I really liked Luna Snow. Every single appearance shes made in comics, i have them. But from what i heard, its hard to incorporate her due to her creators situation. You know, since she was created from a mobil game as opposed to the comics, you have a 2 separate parents situation
"Pan Asian unity" seems like a really American thing. I've lived a quarter of my life in Asia, and people in different countries of Asia do not see themselves as having some kind of unity with each other because they're arbitrarily in the same continent. They should make a "North American Team" with people from Mexico, Canada, and the US so they can see how reductivist that is.
Yeah that actually explains it really well. Canadians, Mexicans, and Americans can be very different. But a pan North American team would actually be super interesting. Imagine a French Canadian from Montreal, a Canadian from Vancouver, a Texan, a New Yorker, a Californian, some one from Minnesota, someone from Mexico City and maybe a native Mexican would be interesting. I’d love to read a book about that team or something like it.
Honestly, that’s a pretty cool idea for a superhero team and if we had superheroes in real life, I’m pretty sure it would happen. along with signing NAFTA America, Canada and Mexico make a joint superhero team to help foster positive relations between the countries. Could probably tell some interesting stories with it too.

Because it's not reductive here in America where these comics are written. America, specifically the US, is extremely diverse and so it can be either very rare or very comic to see people who look like you even if they come from slightly different backgrounds. So having a Pan Ethnic Unity team is a lot more necessary than it would be like in homogeneous countries and continents like those in Asia.
I don't understand how that would work anyway. K-Pop is all about the music and the choreographed movement. Two things that are completely lost with still images in comics.
I could see a Luna Snow story work in a Webtoon format, where panel layout directly ties to pacing, allowing the writers to script very kinetic choreographed battles. Heck, sound Webtoons aren't even that uncommon, and it would be fairly easy to have the audio track sync to the auto scroll, fully taking advantage of the culturally-relevant digital format.

It can happen, they're lots of books and novels about music even though you obviously can't hear music from words, they're still entertaining to read through. I'm sure there's also plenty of manga out there about music
Maybe they make an album with the kpop artist and release a cd/ vinyl with comics that you can read along with the music for a more physical format. The webtoon idea can work well but I’ve yet to see a successful marvel webtoon compared to dc who has a really well liked comic there. Most comic readers would probably prefer physical media over digital especially for speculators.
i love the way her lore in rivals describes the way her healing ice works! its like the ice is so cold it cauterizes as it forms over the wound and then as it melts away, it leaves freshly healed where the ice touched.

My two bit brain on the cold fusion reactor thing: It’s not literally when the arena’s active, but when a significant portion of the staff and people all need to be at various stations spread across the arena, where it’s smarter to activate the whole staff instead of a small crew. Which means they might as well get the high security teams and crews since this whole thing will take a while.

Since her being in Marvel Rivals there is a ton of interest in her and now would be the perfect time for them to capitalize on her with a comic and other merch, songs etc. but honestly it seems that NetEase understands marvel better than marvel do which is a huge shame.

This isn't the first time marvel comics have toyed with a cross promotional pop music super hero character. There was Dazzler in 1980 and Night Cat in 1991. I wouldn't mind seeing a comic where the 3 decided to form a supergroup and go on a huge world tour and get into all kinds of whacky shenanigans. It'll be like josey and the pussycats but with superheroes!
Personally, I think they should hire a Korean Manhwa team to make the comic. Marvel has been losing out lately to manga and manhwa, Luna would be an excellent chance to get in on that. Release it as Manhwa books instead of as comic books and have some guest appearances once things are going well.

Instead being a healer, she's uses nature aggressively to attack people They have a secret layout to be way from the public's eye and want peace of mind Im tell you. I used to play Future Fight a while back. and I grew attached to Luna Snow as a result. She was a lot of fun to play, and I wish they'd made more of an effort to make her interesting. they definitely should have used her "black" powers more, which I took to be damaging spikes of Darkforce energy. And yeah, the Agents of Atlas relaunch was a mess, I think Marvel needs to stick to teams of American characters (including Asian Americans, but set within America), because it's always weird when American writers try to work with "International" teams, they get too tokenized. I also think it was terribly to try and lump all their Asian heroes together, rather than just including them in the Avengers and other team books. Maybe they could have done a "West Coast Avengers" book set in San Fran, with 2-3 Asian American characters as well as plenty of other characters.
I want them to bring back the ifea of luna snow wave and aero being a team again as the elementals (i think that was the name) cause that was a very important thing for them and also the fact she mentioned to ami aka the silver fox i think that was her name in the apearance she made she said that lee lin was also her friend but we get no scences with luna and lee lin and only thing we get is luna and lee lins team up attack in rivals
Reminder Marvel tried to do a very similer thing years ago when they first introduced Dazzler but the plans fell through. Marvel planed concert tours and everything and even at a TV Special planed that would have fetured both The Village People and KISS.
Glad I came here to rewatch this. I was playing Marvel Rivals, and only recognized Luna snow because I've watched this video before. Upon rewatching this again, I understand why she's a healer now😅 actually makes me happy that the developers paid attention to her powers, because as Drake said, the healing is mentioned offhand.
The thing is, sword master and aero was created by the coroporation of Netease & Marvel so they're born comic character. Luna, on the other hand, is a og game character whose settings are not complete for running a solo comic. And thanks to the pandemic, things must've gone even more awkward...

I remember when Luna was announced and was surprised of her having heterochromia, something I also have, its sad how underutilized she is considering her design is great and backstory sounds interesting, specially with all the push Marvel goes for female superheroes, but the one interesting female superhero is the one they choose to put on a team were she doesnt get almost any focus

The most surprising thing about this is that Marvel Future Fight is still going. I played it for a few years before they leaned HARD into a "pay to win" model. With their predatory pricing, and the general let-down of the MCU's Phase Four, I'd have figured it had died during the pandemic.
Sorry to tell you, but the game isn't a pay to win game. Yes, paying generally helps, but if you know what to do, you can get pretty far in the game now f2p

Characters and uniforms that were defining the PvP meta were all only available for cash. It was no longer possible to get a full roster of all the characters for free. Not wanting to pay $20-30 a month on their silly game, I quit.
This seems like another Miles Morales case. Bad debut in the comics but eventually through other projects he became a beloved character. I think something similar could happen to Luna

As a major Luna fan since her debut, I think the reason she didn't kick off in the AOA series. Was making her part of a "love triangle," if you tie a new character to an existing( more popular) one. She won't grow individually, when I first saw that cover, I knew the writer wasn't interested in developing her.

Listen, when Luna snow dropped she was OP. I think she still is, and she was my favorite new inclusion. I wish her and White Fox/the other ancillary atlas agents that were huge in MFF got more (read: better) love.
It seems as though they're trying to create more new characters because they can't just keep rebooting/retconning the same old characters forever. Sure, some of them are going to unfortunately be swing-and-a-miss ideas (like Snowflake, Safespace, and the NEW New Warriors), but kudos for trying. I actually like the idea of the characters mentioned. It feels like some good representation without just labeling them "The Asian Avengers" and calling it a day. I'd only really heard of a few of them; Silk, Amadeus, Jimmy Woo, "Iron Fist". Luna Snow herself is an interesting new take on the same old ice powers and I think there's a lot of potential there for a really interesting character.

As an honest Luna Snow fan, I share your frustration. Even when I thought Joro Spider is so cool and is not heard again after since, she could be built off as a honest rival and many more! There are so many things that you can do with Luna Snow. Even having her song be on blast once in a while? She has her own song for Bor's sake!

Joro Spider was definitely meant to be named after the Jorogumo, a spider yokai from Japanese myth, but, according to a Google search, the term Joro on its own is a term for a high class prostitute, so Joro Spider's name would translate as "Spider Whore" ... This is why you ALWAYS proofread and culturally consult BEFORE you come up with a character name.

This isn't the first time marvel comics have toyed with a cross promotional pop music super hero character. There was Dazzler in 1980 and Night Cat in 1991. I wouldn't mind seeing a comic where the 3 decided to form a supergroup and go on a huge world tour and get into all kinds of whacky shenanigans. It'll be like josey and the pussycats but with superheroes!

Personally, I think they should hire a Korean Manhwa team to make the comic. Marvel has been losing out lately to manga and manhwa, Luna would be an excellent chance to get in on that.
Release it as Manhwa books instead of as comic books and have some guest appearances once things are going well.

I used to play Future Fight a while back. and I grew attached to Luna Snow as a result. She was a lot of fun to play, and I wish they'd made more of an effort to make her interesting. they definitely should have used her "black" powers more, which I took to be damaging spikes of Darkforce energy.
And yeah, the Agents of Atlas relaunch was a mess, I think Marvel needs to stick to teams of American characters (including Asian Americans, but set within America), because it's always weird when American writers try to work with "International" teams, they get too tokenized. I also think it was terribly to try and lump all their Asian heroes together, rather than just including them in the Avengers and other team books. Maybe they could have done a "West Coast Avengers" book set in San Fran, with 2-3 Asian American characters as well as plenty of other characters.
I want them to bring back the ifea of luna snow wave and aero being a team again as the elementals (i think that was the name) cause that was a very important thing for them and also the fact she mentioned to ami aka the silver fox i think that was her name in the apearance she made she said that lee lin was also her friend but we get no scences with luna and lee lin and only thing we get is luna and lee lins team up attack in rivals

I was playing Marvel Rivals, and only recognized Luna snow because I've watched this video before. Upon rewatching this again, I understand why she's a healer now😅 actually makes me happy that the developers paid attention to her powers, because as Drake said, the healing is mentioned offhand.
The thing is, sword master and aero was created by the coroporation of Netease & Marvel so they're born comic character. Luna, on the other hand, is a og game character whose settings are not complete for running a solo comic. And thanks to the pandemic, things must've gone even more awkward...

Characters and uniforms that were defining the PvP meta were all only available for cash. It was no longer possible to get a full roster of all the characters for free.

As a major Luna fan since her debut, I think the reason she didn't kick off in the AOA series. Was making her part of a "love triangle," if you tie a new character to an existing( more popular) one. She won't grow individually, when I first saw that cover, I knew the writer wasn't interested in developing her.

It seems as though they're trying to create more new characters because they can't just keep rebooting/retconning the same old characters forever. Sure, some of them are going to unfortunately be swing-and-a-miss ideas (like Snowflake, Safespace, and the NEW New Warriors), but kudos for trying.
I actually like the idea of the characters mentioned. It feels like some good representation without just labeling them "The Asian Avengers" and calling it a day. I'd only really heard of a few of them; Silk, Amadeus, Jimmy Woo, "Iron Fist". Luna Snow herself is an interesting new take on the same old ice powers and I think there's a lot of potential there for a really interesting character.
