City of Eugene Community Campaign

As an annual event, the Eugene Police Department participates in the City of Eugene Community Campaign to raise money for charitable causes, and donate to organizations that help shape and benefit our community. To help increase department participation, Chief Chris Skinner allows uniformed personnel who donate $100 to grow facial hair, and for office personnel to dress down, bring their dog to work, or show support with an eccentric hair color. About the campaign and participation, Chief Skinner says, "It has been a lot of fun, and I think what it's done, is that it has felt a little bit normal around here when we do that. I think that's really important as an organization that we try to bring some level of normalcy during this really difficult time.
