What makes BF4 so good? Server browser, class system, weapon variety, weapon/attachment progression, vehicle progression, medal progression, player movement/camera/weapon animations fluidity, overall map balance, overall solider/vehicle balance, ticket system, graphics, destruction.
"Player movement / camera / weapon animations fluidity". Gonna have to disagree there. The animations overrided each other quite frequently, and third-person movement animations can be janky or straight up bugged.
@@wentoneisendon6502 this is too true, I played for a few hours today in rush and every other map voted was operation metro, super annoying and unbalanced map
I always thought the lighting was just a classic part of bf4's identity, like yeah it can be tough to see sometimes but it's just another factor to consider in combat. Same goes for everything else actually too, except for the squad up difficulties ofcourse. Maybe the bugginess is just part of the nostalgia for me 🤷♂
Yeah, I don't agree with LevelCap when he describe BF4 as a competitive shooter, it's an arcade like warsim, It's about having a battlefield (not the franchise) experience with the quick spawn aspect.
@@TheBlackB0X gotta agree, BF4 is not a competitive shooter, its more like an arcade warsim / sandbox and doesnt have to be perfectly balanced in all aspects.
It is and isn't a competitive shooter! It depends on the individual, but to say it isn't a competitive shooter is false! If two or more people on a team or individually are competing for a goal.... Then that is the nature of competition! This game is like most multiplayer videogames that have you pitted against other players, is competitive by the nature of being pitted against other players!
@@Gaming4LifeFR Portal is a great idea they just need to actually support it....which they haven't. Honestly if they made that the game then we could be in a far better place with the franchise overall.
The 2042 beta was my first Battlefield experience. After the beta was over I picked up a battlefield game bundle on sale and ground out the previous titles till 2042 was released. I actually put more time into BF4 now than 2042, in part because I want to become better at shooters and BF4 has a much higher skill ceiling and is generally more challenging and rewarding than 2042. And I and V for that matter. Also there's much less overall chaos over the course of a round in BF4. It's easier to know where to spawn, which objectives to push, how to get where you want to go, what direction to flank from, etc.
That is.... until you play Hardcore CTF in Operation Metro. That was one of the most chaotic match I've ever been in. Second place would be Hardcore Conquest on Operation Locker.
It's almost 2025 and I still play BF4 almost every night on my Xbox. Numerous servers still running with quite a few of them needing queues to get everyone in.
I’ve had some of the best memories in gaming and have made some amazing mates over the years some of which I still play with on BF4 every Friday night. Absolutely love this game.
This game introduced me to Battlefield, lvlcap, Matimi0, Jack and X. The pure amount of fun and adrelinlne this game can give you. Battlefeels is a meme but this game really had it. It rewarded smart and good player while also keeping those with a lower skill ceiling competitive in matches. It was pure fun and the last great battlefield game. Since this title it seems Dice and EA are trying their best to surpass it. So far they have failed.
Playing the new battlefield games just makes me appreciate BF4 that much more. The new games just make BF4 better it’s the only battlefield game I never get sick of. BF4 is KING!!!
I've recently bought this game a second time to experience it again now with 120fps instead of the 40-50 i remember from back then. It's INSANE how good the core gameplay feels. In fact it feels like the FPS I've been looking for since a few years now. The guns feel amazing, movement feels just right but most importantly the gameplay "flow" so to say works so well. It's really balanced even tho there are flaws within the balancing. You get annihilated by a dude with his scout helicopter? Well throw in the AA mine and Stinger to annoy the hell out of him so your team can advance. You don't like getting dominated by a MBT? Well get a few teammates to shoot at it with laws and it will be overwhelmed in a few seconds. It just feels right like no other shooter did after it. Doesn't matter if it's BF5, Insurgency, Squad, WW3 or the newer cods. This game just from the core gameplay loop alone is worth your time way more than stuff like 2042 could ever be.
FLIR being able to see targets through smoke was only a thing briefly like seven years ago. DICE LA experimented with it but later removed it in a subsequent patch. If anyone is wondering it hasn't been in the game for years, unlike what Levelcap seems to think here.
I played BF3 a year after release, BF4 out of the gate, BF1 for a month, BF5 for a few months, didn’t touch 2042. Since I started playing BF 4, i never stopped
2042 could have been the greatest BF of all time if they: - kept or slightly modernized BF4 UI - kept the level of vehicle customization - kept spawn cam - kept classic class system (or limit specialists to class-designation at launch) - kept server browser Do all that AND include portal as-is? Would've been goated
Man oh man. I've always loved BF4. Me and my boys have come back to it several times over the years after we didn't like BF1 or BFV. We played golmud 24/7 a lot and would hold the top village. We could stop almost all the tanks and helos that would come in with different tricks we had. I honestly miss it and a lot of me wishes they would just remaster it because it was that good to me.
7:37 Untrue, the last big update nerfed IRNV/FLIR to not see through smokes. The points about vehicles feeling OP are weird. An INFANTRY Fighting Vehicles and MBTs should feel powerful, and engineers should be useful as an anti vehicle role, compared to the newer titles where everyone can take on a tank or heli. Battlefield 4 has a really good Rock-Paper-Scissors system.
I still think it's best battlefield in the series despite its flaws. The weapon variety, assignment/progression, weapon customization, maps it all adds up to a well rounded bf compared to everything that came after
@@coolermann6233 well fine some of them could use adjustments but the overall system of assignments (everything at once and the amount of them) was the best in the series unlike bf1/bfv where you could do a few at a time and had to quit out of the game to get new ones.
If a game from 2013 feels 10x better to play than a modern more recent game then you know you have done something wrong, BF4 just felt so fluid with how everything mixed in with maps, destruction, movement, vehicles and the chaos while lets say 2042 it feels SUPER rough and like you arent really playing that sandbox shooter anymore
I never left BF4, it's always my go to fps if I'm looking to have a good night of casual gaming. Never had any of the matchmaking issues you talked about, however my friends and I always use the squad join mechanic so that's probably why.
I put in thousands of hours to BF4, it was definitely the best in the franchise after its rocky launch. For the most part I agree with what's said in thi8s video, but couple of things to point out. - Custom and private servers were brilliant for the most part, and preferable to the current random map matchmaker approach; But it did open up the possibility of Admin Abuse. - Battlelog web portal is a much better way to find servers; using it allows you to see the actual players connected to a server so you can see if that 60/64 is spoofed or not. - Getting friends into the same team was very easy.... if you could all fit into one squad. If not, then it could be a problem, but making the squad before joining guaranteed you the same team pretty much every time. Never took more than a couple of mins in my experience. - Newer games, esp BF5 and BF2042, have a few more diverse weapons which always become the META and you see no divergence from them. BF4 has much better balance and spread of usable weapons/classes.
What's ironic is that despite absolutely loving BF3 and BF4 and playing those games to death, I've come to realize that BFV's moment-to-moment gameplay is amazing and the best of the entire franchise. Don't get me wrong, the maps in BF3's 100x better, BF1's atmosphere's unrivaled, and BF4's customization is bonkers, but the QoL changes, gunplay and movement feel fantastic and too good to ignore.
totally agree.. BFV really perfected its game mech totally love the squad system where points, listen to order and squad leader actually matter and dont have cover at flag because it have been blown away? fortify it!
@@lulkLogan Attrition also has to go and the vehicle balance was also terrible. Also more anti tank utility. Basically just BF4 remaster with BFV movement. Some people like BFV gunplay but all the guns are just laser beams. I prefer BF4 tap fire gunplay. It was way more skill based.
Old video, but i just came back to bf4 a month ago and im feeling soooo good. Id love to see you do some updated reviews of the more popular weapons to reflect any changes, but i understand that probably isnt a priority lol. Love ya LC!
I think the majority of the problems you addressed with the class system are solved by hardcore mode, and that’s why so many players only play hardcore.
I never stopped playing bf4 regularly, I play it just as much as i did when it was launched. And i find it funny when youtubers "go back" to this game due to nostalgia.
@@jommyjom44 i think it might be, but it runs at 60fps which is awesome, so much fun, i typically play tdm, really fun mindless shooter, i can listen to a podcast or talk to friends and not get annoyed when i get killed, cause it’s just fun!
I played BF4 to death, and I always keep coming back for some reason. I didn't really play BF1 OR BFV much, so when 2042 was announced I got excited. Man, was that disappointing, one thing that bugged me the most for someone who helps by taking out vehicles, was no damage counter anymore. With all the games between BF4 and BF5 it was nice to coordinate with the team to take out a tank or a heli because it told you how much damage you did. 2042, you don't even get that
The only things that left me wanting going back to BF4 were the movement mechanics (especially getting stuck on stuff) and the squad revive system from later games. My friend and I have really come to rely on it
@@Deeznutz581 I did mean movement though. I like 2042's sliding mechanics. It's not too spammy like Warzone but helps you get that last little bit into cover
@@amechanicalengineer4088 You can perform a "dolphin dive" in bf4. Run, jump, hold x(on pc) and your character will jump while going prone, it makes you harder to hit, and allows you to go quicker into a cover.
I didn't really play it in it's Prime and tried it a few years ago on EA play...I loved the 3 faction system and sheer amount of content, even the campaign was compelling. I really hope it keeps going for years to come!
@@Josep_Hernandez_Lujan I know there is more shooters that are trying to stay true to their style of gameplay. But it is not as successful or attracting players. The last big game was Elden Ring, which is bad in general for shooters because it shows that people are getting bored of shooters. This is I think MW2 must sell a lot or companies will not see the genre as a potential to investment more. MW2 should be fine because they don’t have to compete with a game like Elden Ring again.
@@Akkarsollum I agree when it comes to "modern warfare" shooters. But those recent Doom and Wolfenstein games have proven there's a market for old school, fast paced FPS that aren't realistic. Also isn't Elden Ring (and "Souls" games in general quite a lot different from FPS games? They seem fantasy setting; sword fighting, very hard, etc) Quite different from an FPS
One thing that I want to mention that not a lot of people really talk about with bf4 is how much attention there is in the sound engine. The way the sfx are mixed in bf4 just feels so cinematic in a realistic way. I know a lot was reused from bf3 and bc2. But much more refined. Everything from distant combat and explosions to jet flyovers. They way it's mixed is just so immersive and impactful. Loud sounds really do feel loud compared to quiet ones. Such as the airstrikes from the china rising maps. The impact is so loud that it temporarily suppresses all other sounds until the echo fades away. Just a great experience in sound for a war game. Bf1 and 5 are somewhat like this as well too. It's just something I've never experienced in a massive war game. It's exactly what I imagine a modern world war would sound like.
The Assault rifle recoil really was laughably low - that jumped out to me immediately ... But overall i think its a very mixed bag, and i think people glorify the game a little bit too much. Although you do have to give it credit thats its still very playable in 2022
What we really want... is a BF4 remake with modern graphics, some new maps and removing some of the rubbish features. That game was as near to perfect as a FPS can be. I've tried all the BF titles since this game and always end up back at BF4.
bf4 is definitely still a good game, but it feels lesser than bf3 to me. sure bf4 had more qol stuff but bf3 (minus the suppresion) felt more teamwork oriented and tactical. bf4 is mostly an arcade sand box that is really fun but has its own problems
@@Josep_Hernandez_Lujan for me it depended on the map with bf4, where in bf3 it felt like everymap had some emphisis on team work to win. in bf4, atleast half the maps has to be won with team work and the other half can be won with atleast 1-4 good players doing their own thing
i've always been a hardcore player, i find to be the right BF expirience. where every weapon is deadly, that allows you to experiment with every kind of loadout. i love the BF IP but i'm still waiting for a decent BF4 successor and with 2042 i lost all hope
Still going back to play from time to time with my squad; DMRs are actually kind of OP - I recommend trying them out and unlocking all of the attachments. Once you get the practice in you can be very effective with them at all ranges.

@@TommTooTone I actually have never once chosen to use the medic (RUclips won't let me use the actual name for the class) class in the nearly 2100 to 2200 hours I have played bf 4 the only progression I have in that class is from when I run out of ammunition and I have to pick up a medic class and use their kit. I find the medic class OP and cheap so I don't use it. If you were to look at my account "blood. (Remove this space and the period to make it one word) rain7734" and this accounts name on battle log you'll see I either have very few service stars or none at all in medic class.
@@HoloTWWOriginal well at least you have a good consciousness of what playing like trash is and how not to but I would never say assault class is bad. Try running the combat medic upgrades with 2 big bags and the defibs, smoke nades and a gun that's not 1000 rpm like the M16 and focus on reviving people with 100 hp and throwing packs at every corner and you'll get 1st place every round. Personally I don't feel like shit running medic that way but ammo dudes so stingy I end up going back to support. Classes should be used with their special upgrades (excluding the grenadier medic) there's 2 specifics upgrades and usually one is team based and the other is selfishness. As recon in CQB I use carbine with tugs AND sensors with the corresponding upgrades and hang up the ammo guys ass. On my second account funnily enough my top weapon is mp443 pistol, with motion sensor balls and beacon (depending on map and game mode). Followed by engineer. Only thing I change on engineer is between mechanic and defense perks.

This is one of the best fps of our generation imo. If it wasn't for ea, I believe the og dice devs would be giving Activision a run for its money right now. 2042 is a tragic story of greed and may just have destroyed my favorite fps franchise
I really enjoy the weapon stats, fixed dmg values to ammo types & different recoil patterns are missing from newer titles. I also perfer the bf4 vehucle balance. In bf1 and V they feel much weaker
I’m glad that the server admins have rules in place preventing people from swapping teams. One of the most annoying things is loading into a game and seeing an entire clan on 1 side and ransoms on the other ( the AOD clan tends to do this way more then others ). It may not seem like that big of an advantage but when the entire enemy team can communicate and you can only talk to the people in your squad, your at quite the disadvantage.
I like that there is no slide mechanic. I'm getting fed up with seeing it in a lot of newer shooters. Mantling over objects of the same height as you would be cool, but it's not a deal breaker. I also like that it feels a bit slower paced than 2042. That game gives me way too many CoD vibes. And I don't like that at all.
I can't stand when the servers or lobbies get disbanded after every match. Stop protecting the noobs. They got to take an a$$ whooping a few rounds until they getting better like we did.
Bf4 is pretty good, however I find the movement is hella clunky, the classes are real unbalanced, the old bf gunplay isn’t my favourite, and I don’t like the premium thing. But, sniping is amazing, maps are great, attachments are great (even if they don’t change much) graphics look pretty alright, and I still love the levolution.
I am still one of those playing BF4 almost exclusively. Just love the game play more than 2042. Come join us at the Budz/Exiles server. 60HP/No Kill Cam/ Full Hud and Mini map
I absolutely love playing BF4, sooo many fun times and hours in this game. My absolute favourite. I totally uninstalled 2042 and went back to this one and would do so any day.
I’ve come back to it recently about a month ago and have been enjoying it thoroughly. You touched on a lot of the points that bother me also. But one of the worst “features” in this game imo, was jump dodging. Being able to change direction mid jump and elude people by hopping around is incredibly unrealistic and very infuriating lol
One more patch would make BF4 perfect. Nerfing ucav to one per spawn. I love BF4 but it's hard to find a server thats not bogged down with rules or badmins
-UCAVs either one/spawn or just lowering the damage to infi. -knifing mechanic -nerfing ARs slightly -getting rid of some map exploits -various bug fixes
@@HoloTWWOriginal nah i think weapons are ok as they are, the only weapons that need rebalancing are pdw because they suck so much ass it's unreal, i agree the ucav should get some kind of nerf tho, maybe not lowering the damage because that would make it just useless altogether (even tho i agree it's just not fun to die against that) maybe it should take a way looooonger time to reload. and yeah the map exploits should go period
@@Frank-qn7de I only really use 2 maybe 3 pdws and 90% of the time it's mp7. I'd say they're balanced just fine. ARs however are good at every distance and there is an AR that is good in every situation. Even fast firing ones like AEK and An-94 are good at long ranges. And up close they are a match for even the fast firing PDWs cause even though they fired SLIGHTLY slower, they do more damage so it's more than makes up for it. They have no downsides and there's probably 6-7 viable choices. That combined with arguably the best gadget in the game (med bag/packs) it's just too good.
@@Frank-qn7de UCAVs already take 40 seconds to respawn from the instant they're launched. And no, throwing an ammo bag down hasn't sped up the respawn time in years. The UCAV is fine in its present form, and there's hardly anyone using it these days. Having 2-3 of them out of 64 isn't going to imbalance anything.
I have to disagree on some points here: - The smoke/FLIR combo was fixed after a few updates, you couldn't see trough smoke with either FLIR or Thermal sights after... - Being killed by a vehicle on Golmud when your on foot out in the open... I mean, duh... Take cover or run! IRL, a chopper obviously would smoke ones ass in the same situation. With decent players on your own team (specially in the AA), it could be quite hard to be effective for a heli pilot/gunner. Overall, I liked the aspect of "easy to learn, hard to master". Specially for vehicles or aircraft. Yeah, Attack Helis, or the Attack Fighter/Bomber could seem overpowered at times, but only if the pilot was acutally skilled or if the countering vehicles were poorly used. Man, I sank 3000h + into that game, 99% on HC Servers. Many of those hours on 24/7 Golmud Servers. It was fun (and sometimes tough AF) to fight the same guys every now and then. Never had these kind of moments ever again. Was awesome to see the same Level 140 guys in the other team, making me think "ah well shit, todays going to be hard against these guys". But having some other frequent players on my own team levelled things out. Those were the days, those were my real "Only in Battlefield Moments". Without knowing these people personally, you could feel the respect between each other. Helping each other out in every situation, even without comms, only by understanding what the other guy wanted after being on the same server for hours, weeks, months. But also fighting them when they were in the opposite team. Man, I miss those times. I don't t believe BF will ever reach that level ever again... sadly
I used to play this every week until this july, where I decide to cut off any distractions for my first yr for uni. Even though I started playing 2019, this game is so darn special for me
I disagree with other categories falling behind. At least on console, semi sniper for long range or cqb weapons like the asval or others are far superior in specific scenarios then assault weapons. Therefore i see allot of people using them :). Another factor was you saying the weapons feeling somewhat the same, again recoil control may be rly easy on pc but on console you do feel the difference, as well in bullet speed etc. Just pressing down the button on a famas wont get u far, but it may be different on the an94 on burst (i hope you know what i try to say). Also sure the lighting may be a problem sometimes, but most of the time visability is great, not like bfv where you can literally lay down anywhere you want and wont be seen (high grass for example). It gives the game something dramatic, sure on locker snowside can get a bit crazy visually, but thats just how a snowstorm would look like.
1027 hours in and this game still surprises me. I'm confused by your comment about squads though...do you not have a 'squad join' feature on PC? I think the variety of maps, gadgets, guns, attachments set the standard that has yet to be topped (not even close). Would've happily purchased an newer version of BF4 updated with BF1 level visuals and sounds.
Playing this game nowadays, the infantry experience is pretty bad especially with the worse hit reg, suppression and bullet bloom. Everything else is great though.
I played BF4 on the Xbox 360 when it first came out. When I turned to PC gaming it was the first game I bought. I still hop into FPSG servers at least once a week because the game is honestly my favourite fps experience, period.
That whole squad splitting thing must be a common pc only problem because ive been playing console for 4 or 5 years and its never happened to me when me and my buddies go 5 or 4 man squads. Wierd.
Bf4 is a much better game in hardcore mode in my opinion, far more variety in weapon viability and vehicle strategies makes for an almost completely new experience from the base game
I went back to play it for a few months and I find it to outperform newer games at times. Things like dynamic maps, godlike performance, enemy spotting, ping crosshair correction, counter-knifing, details, etc. make it enjoyable even if the balance and hitreg couldn't get any worse.
BF4 was great. But me and my squad spend most of our time playing bf1. That was the golden era of bf for us. We were at full strength going toe to toe with other squads. Our numbers have dwindled since then but a few of us remain. We are haven taken the fight to bf 2042.
BF4 was the last "good" BF for me. It had its flaws, but I rather forgive those than switch to lesser gameplay (still my opinion). Many of BF4 flaws could be easily fixed, but DICE didn't go for it. For example (mentioned by LC) - a good vehicle player often dominated the map due to the fact the ammo and fuel were unlimited. Ammo replenished after some time. It would be much better if the player had to "return to base" for ammo restock. There could be areas of "vehicle restock" outside of the enemy reach. Same for tanks, but refuelling station at bases/capture points should do the trick.
Vehicle domination is a long running theme since the very fires Battlefield 1942. It seems you just can't make vehicles not dominate infantry and not make them pointless in the process.
My biggest gripe post BF4 is probably the point about armor strength. The idea of a team needing to coordinate to take down a tank is good in theory, but in my experience it was almost always 1 v tank. It also reduced the number of tanks and vehicles on the maps, which made me avoid them completely as to not take it away from a more talented driver/pilot, in the hopes of actually winning a round
I played last night til 2 am I actually found a carrier assault match my god the fun I had. Great times. Games these days aren’t that entertaining to me.

I wanted BF2042 to be BF4 wt updated graphics , the movement of BF5 & atmosphere of BF1. No battle passes and cheesy operators to sell skins.
Graphics are the reason games are beautifully broken these days. Like most young women.
Battlefield: Fortnite
This game just from the core gameplay loop alone is worth your time way more than stuff like 2042 could ever be.
cool
I’m still playing BF4 on Xbox Series X and yes I still love it. I prefer BF4 way more than BF5 or 2042 both of which I stopped playing entirely.
That fact that we can finally play bf4 at 120 fps made the game even better
@@ctg5679 Too bad the resolution still sucks. It looks like a pixelated hot mess on my 1440p screen. Puts me off from playing it still, honestly.

FLIR being able to see targets through smoke was only a thing briefly like seven years ago. DICE LA experimented with it but later removed it in a subsequent patch. If anyone is wondering it hasn't been in the game for years, unlike what Levelcap seems to think here.
I couldn't imagine how these older BF games would be doing if it had something similar to Halo's forge mode. It'd be crazy
I played BF3 a year after release, BF4 out of the gate, BF1 for a month, BF5 for a few months, didn’t touch 2042. Since I started playing BF 4, i never stopped
2042 could have been the greatest BF of all time if they:
- kept or slightly modernized BF4 UI
- kept the level of vehicle customization
- kept spawn cam
- kept classic class system (or limit specialists to class-designation at launch)
- kept server browser
Do all that AND include portal as-is? Would've been goated
"most people only use ARs and carbines"
yeah, thats realistic. people will always do that, theyre the most versatile. thatst the point
The weapon variety, assignment/progression, weapon customization, maps it all adds up to a well rounded bf compared to everything that came after
The assignments are awful. Remember how you get the Gol Magnum?
@@coolermann6233 well fine some of them could use adjustments but the overall system of assignments (everything at once and the amount of them) was the best in the series
unlike bf1/bfv where you could do a few at a time and had to quit out of the game to get new ones.
@@coolermann6233 lmao 5 kills from the tower too much for you?
Glad to see I’m not the only one with 1,000 hours of game time.
Can't agree more ,, battlefield 5 is so smooth in comparison i wish they make a modern shooter based on BF5 systems
With better maps and more consistent support, BF5 would have the best hands down
totally agree.. BFV really perfected its game mech
totally love the squad system where points, listen to order and squad leader actually matter

2042, you don't even get that
You know it's a great game when you can still hop on in 2023 and find full servers
Yesssiiirrr
The only things that left me wanting going back to BF4 were the movement mechanics (especially getting stuck on stuff) and the squad revive system from later games. My friend and I have really come to rely on it

I think shooters in general are barely holding on. MW2 will need to be successful or we can see more decline in shooters.
There's plenty of great shooters though. Although they are lesser known.
Hell Let Loose > Battlefield V
Verdun > Battlefield I
@@Josep_Hernandez_Lujan I know there is more shooters that are trying to stay true to their style of gameplay.

I'd rather be stuck on 24/7 locker all day than play 2042 for ten minutes.
FACTS
The Assault rifle recoil really was laughably low - that jumped out to me immediately ...
But overall i think its a very mixed bag, and i think people glorify the game a little bit too much.
Although you do have to give it credit thats its still very playable in 2022
Don't forget about all the Jet Ramming that BF4 has
BF4 is the best Battlefield experience at the moment.
For me BF3 is the best Battle field franchise. Still playing it from time to time.

Complaining about ucavs as you run MGL n sit on a medic bag, priceless lol
The bf3 project reality mod is by far the best military sim.
I really enjoy the weapon stats, fixed dmg values to ammo types & different recoil patterns are missing from newer titles. I also perfer the bf4 vehucle balance. In bf1 and V they feel much weaker
Bf4 doesnt have recoil patterns
@@coolermann6233 no there are recoil patterns, it's just that there's 3 per weapon group so you end up having 5 guns that feel basically the same
I’m glad that the server admins have rules in place preventing people from swapping teams.
Yeah, the movement feels dated compared to the rest of the game

I’ve come back to it recently about a month ago and have been enjoying it thoroughly. You touched on a lot of the points that bother me also. ofc it holds up, it's holding up the entire franchise at this point
Yesssssiirr!!
One more patch would make BF4 perfect. Nerfing ucav to one per spawn. I love BF4 but it's hard to find a server thats not bogged down with rules or badmins
-UCAVs either one/spawn or just lowering the damage to infi.
-knifing mechanic
-nerfing ARs slightly
-getting rid of some map exploits
-various bug fixes

I started playing it again lastnight and it’s still badass. Downloading BF1 now
I have to disagree on some points here:
- The smoke/FLIR combo was fixed after a few updates, you couldn't see trough smoke with either FLIR or Thermal sights after...
I use pdw-r most underrated gun in game, have master tags for all guns
7:33 didn't Dice made so that you cant see thru smoke even with thermal optics years ago? Weird

I think the variety of maps, gadgets, guns, attachments set the standard that has yet to be topped (not even close).
Would've happily purchased an newer version of BF4 updated with BF1 level visuals and sounds.

I went back to play it for a few months and I find it to outperform newer games at times. Things like dynamic maps, godlike performance, enemy spotting, ping crosshair correction, counter-knifing, details, etc. make it enjoyable even if the balance and hitreg couldn't get any worse.
Hitreg is great in BF4. You must have been on a bad server or had bad ping
@@lulkLogan yeah, I mean servers are a bit of a hit or miss but as of now I'm playing mostly on bad hitreg servers/maps.
I have an older gaming laptop so bf4 is the only multiplayer game I can play and you echoed all of my complaints about BF4.
