- Hey guys today we're going to talk about the first battlefield game mode and how to be proficient at it, especially while playing solo.

I think you have forgotten some very important aspects of winning a conquest game.
1. DEFENDING is easier then CAPTURING so when a flag is being captured be the enemy team. Spawn on it (unless it's completely overrun of course)
2. BE on the BURN, the only way to win a game of conquest is to have the most flags you can't outkill a team only outburn them. So don't waste time on people not playing the objective but the ones that do.
3. Do NOT let the enemy team backrage the flags closed to your base. A or E flag for example on siege of shanghai. So defend them all the time, and try to capture the ones of the enemy team. So they can't put so much pressure on yours.
4. Try to communicate with your squad when you got a headset, you would be surprised how many people will communicate back or follow your orders.
5. know when to retrieve from a flag. It's sometimes better when your outnumbered to let them take the flag and then retake it when they leave. And don't let them know your there (so stay of the burn in that case)

The biggest flaw of any FPS game are the players. I rarely ever rage quit but when I do it's not because I'm getting owned so hard, but because my team mates are so incredibly stupid and don't give a shit about the objective or team work.
So the best advice simply is "don't be a stupid moron".

Conquest is really well done in Bf4. I enjoy it the most.
I hate it when I ask for ammo or health they don't give a fuck.but when I see ppl with low health I give them health with out them asking
A good player drops constantly or depending on the situation health and ammo without getting asked for it. Douchbags or people who really don't know what they're doing may not drop a crap. That's how I see it.

It's really annoying on hardcore, but also easier. Whenever I'm injured and practically begging a medic for health, I just kill him and use his medkit and revive him if he has defibs.

Jason Henrie you can make new friends. If your squad doesn't click go to a different squad. Don't be scared of meeting new people and making new friends.

Something I was really hoping levelcap would mention in the "how to use vehicles" is know where they should go, I mean when you start a game in conquest, and you get a fast vehicle like an heli or a quad bike, etc, you actually have the responsibility to go for further conquest points that the 1 or 2 closest ones, man I feel really frustrated when I spawn in the beginning of the match into a little bird or a combat heli transport heli as a gunner and the pilot decides he wants to use the heli to conquer the closest point... instead of going for the middle ones and drop some infantry in there that would grant an advantage at the beginning, I mean while you're using your heli to conquer a point that can and will be easily conquered by people who is going on foot or tanks, the other team conquers 3 points because they used their vehicles wisely. Like in Siege of Shangai, the helis are meant to defend the point C (B on PS3/XBOX360), with a little bird it is so easily to take over a fully loaded C point, but not some people just fly around all the other points leaving aside the clear advantage that the Heli has on that particular conquest point. And also, I REALLY REALLY HATE the snipers or people who use any kind of heli to go to any high point and then land it there. if you're gonna do that at least have the curtsey to destroy the heli so that your team can use it again.
Having LevelCap as one of your squad mate also help.
I wish more people took your advice to practice in the training ground. I HATE spawning into the passenger seat of a vehicle and the person has no idea what they are doing. Especially when it is a fool in a helicopter who goes straight down and kills you.

3:50 This is why I always have a bad time with Rush, I'm constantly put on these teams where too many of my team mates are too passive and sit in the back picking off people rather than aggressively pushing objectives. Despite this Rush is still one of my favorite game modes and as the game goes on I find that people start to push more aggressively, but by the time they do it's already over for our team.
That happens 80% of the time. Its kinda ridiculous.
I'm telling you guys right now, these players who spawn trap are the players who play too much cod! Spawn trap logic=kiss my ass. This game mode is a freaking joke! It's not fun to play anymore! Even my teammates were spawn trapping enemies like pussies!
I hear you bro. Rush is probably my favorite game mode but I usually dont want to jump into it if I dont have some friends playing with me. The same can be said for Conquest too. I've learned that sometimes you can turn the tables with some solid play but other times you need to stop butting your head against a brick wall and just switch teams to the better team or if thats not possible just go to another server. There's no shame in any of that! If your team really sucks there's no reason to keep losing games. However, I do frown on leaving mid-game. Even if im getting my hog stomped on I'll play the game out.
I'm sorry I case I might be cussin slightly, but oh my gosh! I has one of the worst game I've ever joined in rush. All I see are spawn trappings! It pisses me off so hard! I just feel like reporting them all day! I'm just sick and tired of spawn traps! Please guys, just move! Don't sit inane place and spawn trap the whole game! That's also considerably a move that makes a game breaking situations and become a cancer to people's enjoyment who want to play Rush.
Getting spawn trapped sucks bro, but it's a double edged sword. If you let up on the team you have trapped they might push you back and get the objectives. Then again if you are trapping and too many of you push up a squad can get behind you and plant both objectives before you can get back to defuse them. If you're on a team that keeps getting crushed just switch or leave.

It's amazing how easily you shoot boats and other ground-level targets with attack jet. I can fly around and sort of dogfight (or at least harass air targets), but I can never line up for a run on a ground vehicle, and when I try that, I do more damage by crashing into them than by shooting.

AMAZING VIDEO LEVELCAP!! My dad recently switched from COD to BF4 and is maybe 2 weeks into playing it. I've been trying so hard to teach him the key points to being good at the game to bshorten the learning curve. It's been ruff since he's a COD player but I showed him this video and it's MAJORLY helped him, and beat it into his head what to do to be an asset to your team...and also how much of a "team" game this is, compared to what he has been used to.
I know that it may sound weird, but if you introduce yourself in voice chat before you just do battle chatter and ask for things- people will be much more inclined to communicate with you.
if you reduce the tension, make people understand that you are just another dude trying to have a good time, people will give you feedback.
In all honesty I never have been the best at battlefield. But if there is ever a time a do good in battlefield 4 is when I'm playing with a group of friends. No matter how much practise I put into battlefield I can never do good on solo... Reasons are No.1 My team is too busy racking up kills and boosting their k/d ratio rather than playing the objective or No.2 I get confused with all the different objectives around me and since there is a lack of team communication I end up all over the place and I get my ass served on a silver plater. But when I play with friends its completely different. We spread out across the map and have snipers guarding capture points or in locker we use the .50 cal to lock down the centre. It works every single time. I actually can't remember a single game I played with friends were I would rage or we would get our asses completely destroyed. But on solo I constantly rage and fling my controller down in frustration after a game. It just proves that Battlefield is not meant to played alone. But props to anyone who is patient enough to get good at playing objective game modes like conquest and rush on solo!

I'm guessing you've played CoD your whole life? You have to join a game then invite them.
Pre-match 4-player squad formation was an option in BF3. But DICE stupidly excluded this option in BF4. Similarly, DICE also didn't carry over to BF4 the option to modify loadouts while at the game's main menu. There's so much FAIL in BF4.
***** I agree that the ability to form squads prior to getting in a game is a big fail by Dice. That being said, it's still pretty easy to (on Xbox One at least) to get in a party with your friends then join a server and get on the same team. It rarely takes me more than a round or two to get a full squad of friends on the same team. I still don't understand why they got rid of pre-game squadding up though. Maybe it caused lag?!
Gabe T I fucking hate cod i haven't played the game since MW2. It is just such a fiasco to play with a friend on bf4. When you want to join someone often times you end up on the other team and all kinds of stupid shit.
Lucky Lindy DICE apparently thinks they need to fix the marriage between Frostbite 3 and BF4 before they can do anything else. However, I just don't see marriage (netcode) issues getting fully fixed...ever!
I just don't get how to fly jets. I feel like i would have to adjust the sensitivity of my mouse every time i change from infantry to jet. They just don't turn around!
Use less suck & crying, more skill.
The best way to fly on PC is to set one of your keys to pull up/pull down. For example, I have spacebar set to pull up and left alt set to pull down. It makes it much easier to make quick turns
I recommend using a gamepad to fly jets
FrankieonPCin1080p has a really good video on flying jets. its from bf3 but he says that everything is essentially the same
Element921 Much better solution! Just buy a good gamepad and change from mosue to gamepad every time you hop into one...
Great vid LevelCap!! I'd like to share a quick story: I was on golmud, one squad on my team took all of the tanks AND the LAV/BTR and lined them up on a hill somewhere in the field close to our spawn. They were "trying" to fire at long distance targets and were missing terribly, completely wasting the vehicles. I guess we are all motivated by different things, these guys clearly wanted a good K/D whereas I wanted to play the f'in objective

What a throwback
Hey LevelCap I wanted to suggest something I don't think you've mentioned before, it's a little trick I like to use when driving the APCs, attack boats and choppers (anything that has magazine-based weapons). As soon as I jump in the vehicle I fire off a round from any and all weapons that use a magazine and then hit reload, the game will then start the weapon's magazine reloading process. By the time you're up to the front lines and ready for combat you'll have an extra magazine for each weapon minus one shot which can give you a big edge versus another vehicle; they'll be waiting for a reload from 0 ammo while you have just short of another full volley to throw their way. Anyways thanks for all the great vids, keep 'em coming!

Michael M It's really not that overpowered, it doesn't exceed in anything, just a median for weapons. In close quarters it can be dominated by many of the pdw's and even assault rifles.
Vu Du its one of the best weapons in the game and exceeds others at all ranges. I've used this gun before for about 2 service stars, and I dominated from cqc to longer ranges and everything in between.
I'm just saying other weapons can beat it in different situations.

what servers are you playing on where the vehicles are unused? All the games I join the vehicles are all in use, and most of the team is sitting in ucap or spec mode waiting to spawn into the vehicles. There are no spare vehicles. none

Everything that lvlcap pointed out is nothing extraordinary, however I don't see that much players do even half of what he said. Hell, nowdays noboby even spots enemy's
I push the spot button all the time.
^this...the spot button is almost more valuable than your weapon, it should be used constantly with every class and vehicle. And yes, the idiots who focus on kills and nothing else are supremely annoying in conquest, i agree 100% that some good RTS skills can go a long way toward victory.

Not learning to fly a jet Lvl sorry. If I lose a game of conquest because I can't fly a jet then something is very wrong.

This videos confirm my opinion you are a COD-like player. It's all about charging the enemy, taking fire, returning fire, using tanks for full frontal charges. You lack completely any tactical approach to CQ.
Most of players cap a flag and then leave it to be recapped after 5 secs by enemies. The real strategy in CQ is to cap AND defend certain flags which are in strategic positions. This way you prevent enemies from getting points, you provide optimal respawn points for teammates and you allow teammates to focus on other flags.
Most of the flags are captured (on 24 player servers) by one or two random guys because they are left un-attended. A flag can be easily defended by a team of 2 people. A 4 man squad can defend 2 close-by flags on bigger maps. With one man in jet, no vehicle can even come close.
That means getting less kills and points but it also means giving your faction better chances of winning the game.
That's strategy.
You are just a slightly evolved COD player. Your videos just speak for you.

I can be a rather effective tank driver but I just hate vehicle combat, boring op slabs of metal sit there and slug at each other. Yeah there is a small strategy of place to hit to do more damage, but man it feels like slow as molasses turn-based combat. I can do infantry well, but I hate team deathmatch and domination, you get cheated out of your maps, only getting a tiny 5*5ft square. Also launchers besides maybe the stinger, are useless and ineffective at taking out vehicles.

Try infantry only, all the fun of conquest but without the vehicles. Much better imo, vehicles aren't balanced in BF4 so they ruin it for me. BF3 had it down though.

DsE Gaming SRAW rockets travel to slowly and often the guidance system messes up when try to turn causing your rocket to freak out.
jrauch6 try clearing your filters entirely, I can usually find a good number. Not anywhere near as many as other servers, I'll admit.
Finally a very useful video. I always play solo as i do not have any battlefriends(everyone here is only cs, that too 1.6 only) to play with. And i guess this is applicable to bf3 also.

Spawning in from a parachute gives a big advantage. The transport heli can be used as a mobile spawn point for your team. Fly as high as possible over a flag and let your team mates spawn and drop into the objectives

I was ok with this vid until you started using the AA to shoot infantry...never agreed with that tactic and I think it's low as fuck to use it for that purpose. I honestly wish they would make the AA's gun turret unable to aim low enough to kill infantry so that people would stop abusing the fucking AA and use it for what it is supposed to be used for (e.g. taking down helicopters and defending your team from the air).
Yea but it's basically helpless vs IFVs and Tanks. Hell I don't think it can even disable the big armored jeep doused in C4 before it collides with the AA into a fireball of doom.
The air on zavod consists of exactly 2 helicopters. You really think he would be more effective in spending his whole time just keeping them off the air? Its much more productive to help your team than to spend 90% waiting for air to spawn and then fleeing/being bailed.
That has more to do with vehicle spawn times than anything else...again it's a douchebag move to use AA constantly on infantry; it's at the point sometimes where I would rather have mobile AA removed completely and they stick the stationary AA back in so people can't just sit farming kills in a vehicle on infantry which was never intended as anti-infantry. Why people justify it is beyond me - the clue is in the name and there's already a shitload of vehicles that are on the ground (or in the air) which are meant to focus on infantry. Don't be that dick who likes to use AA to go on killstreaks against infantry - everyone knows you're just shit at doing anything else anyway.
Just because I have a knife in my kitchen which is good for cutting more things than just carrots and vegetables (usually the end of my finger when I try and cook!) does not mean I should use it to kill people - it's not the "done-thing" now is it?! My point is that even though the AA is well equipped with two miniguns to kill infantry this was not the purpose it was intended for. The issue is that the AA is so unbalanced against infantry, and people have used it against infantry for such a long time now, that it has almost become accepted when you get killed by AA as a soldier on the ground. Am I the only person that sees it this way?

I remember one time I followed a random squad mate and tried to help him, the rest of my squad saw that we stuck together and they joined us. We where unstoppable from that point on.

Really I thought the attack jets are pretty weak. They are weaker than the BF3 attack jets. You cant even kill a tank in a single straf in BF4. Until you get JDAM bombs or Hydra rockets.
JDAM seems cool first but then you realise that they are just weak and they are probably the worst thing on attack jets
You must be doing it wrong, even with the default setup you get, tanks are easily picked off in one strafe. you possibly need to make your angle of attack more vertical
But you rip through enemy aircraft and boats
DonPimpNutz Yeah I know that they can take out a tank in one strafe but I strongly think that most of the others secondary wepons would also do the job well and they would be more polyvalent

Well it depends, I know some people on console that do really really well con console with jets mainly because when using jets it is easier to turn using a controller than a mouse pad, there are pros an cons, when using a mouse you gain more precision when using guns but in the case of jets I'd say controllers have an advantage, and, if you ask me both mouse/keyboard and Controller do very well when using an heli.
That's all true. My point is that there's one jet for each team on ps3 and much fewer maps with any planes at all. The maps are also smaller. So jets end up always crashing and once you take out the enemy jet, you can't do much
Arjun Srivastava I've played on both and it's pretty similar if your skills are up to par. Maybe it's just that on PS3 there's less to shoot at because of the player count.
I recently got the time to try conquest and rush on bf 4 due to the shitty server issues during launch. Good timing of this video I suppose. Thanks LevelCap!

Bind the jet turning to both mouse and for instance spacebar on your keyboard, when using the keyboard button you get the full turning speed while you can use your mouse for precise turrning when aiming
Sneaking around on conquest with a suppressor capping all the flags is some of the most fun you can have in battlefield, And it's such a good distraction all it takes is 1 guy to cap some flags and the whole battle changes location.
Great video LC, how about a top 10 weapon video? You could even do a weapon per video, it would be cool to see your personal thoughts and compare them to my top 10.
Agree wholeheartedly with the advice to get into vehicles. Would like to add to that you have to mind the odds you're up against. Are you going solo for a cap and notice three engineers? Bail out, go for another flag, or at least take some distance so you're able to take out a couple of infy before engaging the last one(s) up close. As much as you're no use dying as infy, neither are you dying as a tank driver.
