Also, GOD yes... Not just a camera review but a brief tutorial walking folk through a brief example of a few settings and features. Boo need to get extreme, but something under 10 min covering this would rule
Got my Pixel Pro last week. I am still getting into all.of the features it has, taking photos, etc. I'm a happy camper that I was able to pre-order it and get it fast!
Hi Shannon, I absolutely love my Pixel 6 Pro in Sorta sunny. I think that your review is very fair. I haven't had so many issues with the finger print sensor but I do admit it could have been better. I get two days off a charge so am happy with the battery life. I believe allot of the little niggles can be addressed with software updates and I hope they do roll them out. Still it's the best phone I personally have ever had.
Got to say, that was a really fair review and mirrors my experience - fingerprint recognition is disappointingly sloooow, cameras are outstanding and battery takes a while to settle down. I'm hoping they do more fun things with the AI part of the new Tensor chip...
Me too, like actually build a proper DSP engine for sound for the OS instead of that weak @$$ "music-fx" app that is built in that they have been using since like Android 2.
Good review. I've had mine for about 10 days now. Not sure if the battery improved, or I just stopped paying attention to it :-) I end the day at about 40%. Pictures are great, but I do sometimes wish for a manual mode and a macro mode.
Excellent review, and would enjoy an in depth camera review like you've done in the past comparing it to other phones. As a long time Galaxy fan I'm seriously considering jumping ship with the Pixel 6. I'm so glad they aren't designing them similar to iphone anymore and really like the Pixel 6 design. Plus I love that Google is happy to allow you to install a different OS compared to Samsung as well as they support their devices longer.
Great video. Very informative and I really like all your opinions of the phone even if I don't agree with them all. Excellent work, so much so I had to subscribe.
OMG! Your right about it the 4x camera getting a really close focus. Wow cool. It's not really a macro but it can get super close. I have had the phone for a little over a week. And your review is excellent. The battery on a normal day in the "office" is great. I have been on battery since 8:30am, I turned off wifi about 2 hours ago while I am still at work. The time is 9:33 while I write this comment. The battery is 49%. This is amazing! I don't need to charge up at all before going home. As for the screen protector, I did find tempered glass at Amazon. The only thing with this screen protector is it has black edges so I don't like that so much but it's working fine. This screen protector wasn't fingerprint capable. I had to use UV glue when attaching the screen protector so the fingerprint scanner would work.
Register the fingerprint in a dark environment and it works much better. Still a bit slow but according to google that's normal and caused by some security stuff.
@@MrPontiac005 I really love it. Pixel takes back the photo crown, especially the 4x Zoom. Video is solid, but my iPhone 12 Pro is still better. I get tired of iOS so it's nice to be back on Android. Fingerprint scanner works fine. Not super fast or 100% but it's fine... Display is top notch! So yeah. I really love it!
Hi Shannon...very good review! Thank you very much... I picked up a Pixel 6 in Germany yesterday. Google won't sell pixel phones in the Netherlands. I did have all the Nexus phones and now i can say I also have all Pixel phones. I am waiting for your Pixel 6 review!! Keep up the good work.
I think for me, the selling point is the image processing. Samsung tends to either brighten or oversaturate photos. And it seems iPhone does that as well, atleast in a few comparison videos I've seen. A few tech folk already told me that for the best 'point and shoot' experience, it's definitely Pixel. So for the 1st time ever, I want to try out a Pixel. Coming from Samsung, it shouldn't be that much of a learning curve since they both run on Android.
Google pixel 6 series are the first android phones with Social media integration same with the iphones. I hope you'll do camera test using social media apps like Instagram, tiktok and Snapchat. I saw some reviewers did the social media test and im so happy that finally an Android phone with great social media video quality output.
Hey Shannon, thanks for the review. Just wondering, are you also experiencing an intermittent connection? I've been having that issue ever since I've got the phone - and I've seen a lot of reports about it online too. Like, in the city, I would be in a 5G/4G connection, then it'll suddenly drop out and have no connection at all for about 15 mins or so, then connect again. Then later on, about 30 mins or so, it'll drop out again. But for some reason, I've never been having problems like this with my Pixel 2 XL.
I wouldn't mind if you did a camera comparison between this Pixel 6 Pro and the Pixel 5/5a. I upgraded from the 5a. I know that the 5a uses the Sony IMX363 (it's been in use since the Pixel 2) and the 6 Pro uses the Samsung GN1 camera sensor
Woot! Just got mine the other day and I have it set up properly now! The only thing I miss is the fingerprint reader on the back side I used to use it to swipe down for the notification panel. But I like the new design in a number of ways.
On the fingerprint sensor: I'm coming from a Pixel 4xl with face unlock only and I'm just happy to have a fingerprint sensor again. The speed at which it works took about one day to get used to. I'm getting some strange audio glitches when using wired headphones. Every time I hit the microphone button on Gboard for example, there is some static.
One thing that is mildly infuriating on my pixel 6 pro is when I have a bubble message and the keyboard is inaccessible because it's behind the message!
I don't even understand why there is difference between landscape and portrait mode when using phone camera, like wtf? Why differentiate? Speaking of which, is there a way to force camera apps to use landscape or portrait mode no matter what the phone gyroscope told the app about the phone orientation? Why is this even a thing anyway? Who's idea was it? Let me guess, Apple?
I have a warp charge 30 adapter for my one plus 7 pro, does anyone know if that is safe to use and will it charge at top speed on the pixel 6 pro with that adapter?
they took away face unlock and gave a bad fingerprint sensor....plus the extreme curved edge is too much for me. The non pro version suits my taste more even with the difference it has. I still love your review!
I love my sorta seafoam pixel 6....my only concern is sometimes I would see 3 tiny blurred lines in view finder and images at times idk what it is but if anyone else experience this let me know otherwise great phone love it...it's my favorite phone so far 😁

Great review! One question, nobody ever talks about with unlocked phones.. Is the mobile hotspot carrier unlocked? Will it let me share my data connection without having to contact Verizon and add it to my data plan? That will either make or break this phone for me.
It would work like a typical data plan if you have mobile hotspot including in your plan. You can share it if you don't, you have to pay for it. Being unlocked doesn't change anything 🧐
@@thehumanrebuildd it's a hit & miss on what unlocked phones, allow you to use your hotspot without having it on your data plan. So not all unlocked Android phones are the same. My current Oneplus 7 Pro has the hotspot provisioning turned off. Nexus devices were the same. Up until the Pixel 1 & 2 after that they have been carrier locked.

I might try it again in the future when they fix all the issues with the phone.

No one mentions the back camera looks like the Galaxy S10 and always compare it to the Nexus. I thought the battery was 5003 mah?
