I don’t understand the whole “paranormal” thing. My new roommates say our house is haunted but I’ve been living here for over 300 years and I haven’t noticed a thing.
And on top of that, Jim has lived with several different ghosts over the years, he has personally died and been resurrected atleast once by now and had to deal with one of his neglected dead children being revived as a vengeful highly lethal cursed abomination and general freak of nature (moreso than rest of his children and the average babies in Sims, I mean). Fail to see how this is breaking any new grounds for him.
He was the one controlling Kevin who was controlling us but then our saviour Jim Pickens sent griefer Jesus to eliminate Kevin and free his beloved followers 😎

I'm thinking Guidry isn't showing up because there's too "Helping hands", which don't let him spawn. There's one in the fireplace next to the séance table and the one you put in the bedroom. Maybe the lot trait isn't a "Residential Haunted House". I hope this helps, I can't wait for Jim Pickens the paranormal investigator.

Jim would make an awful paranormal investigator or ghost hunter, because when he's done with the job there's more likely to be more ghosts than when he came in.
I found this on the Sims Wiki. The only ways to get a ghost child is to create one in CAS through ghost parents or getting the "death" outcome when wishing for a child at the wishing well. However, because toddlers can't die and become ghosts, the minimum life stage to be a ghost is child.
I think that Guidry (the ghost that offers the job of a Paranormal Investigator) isn't showing up because of that hand statue Kevin placed in the house, or maybe Jim hasn't spent that much time in the house yet, or maybe because Guidry just doesn't wanna be buddies with the likes of Jim Pickens ..........

I'm all for new torture methods (that sounds weird without context), but having only those when all sims react roughly the same way would make it another variation of the EV mod.

The message that says “The flashing light was just a test. You’ll have plenty of warning next time.” was one of the prank calls in TS1 and it has genuinely haunted me for years even though I only inherited the console version of the first game well into the TS3 era and I should have been too old for that to traumatize me. As horrifying as half of those calls were, I’m kinda glad that they brought some of them back to freak out a new generation (or maybe I’m just saying that to justify how that phrase still makes me kinda uneasy)
