What do you think of these characters? Do you have any questions I should answer when I do my actual rig reviews of the different character collections? :)
Hi Sir Wade, actually I am using the Gorilla Rig but I don't find like a bend bow control for it. Maybe I need to reach them out but I would like you to do some Rig Demo with Pro Rigs Characters in your channel if you have availability. Happy animating Sir Wade.
These characters are just beautiful; wow the lip movement. Stunning. Also I had no idea Maya Indie was this accessible financially esp since we are so close to Black Friday/Cyber monday discounts. But. I think there may be an issue with people who want characters of this calibre finding that loads of other people are using exactly the same characters for very different stories. I use Iclone/Character creator/Blender and one of the benefits is I can significantly tweak a character to be quite unique. Thank you for bringing this to us though...I can drool/dream!
It is quiet good but this is another 20 bucks every month, between the Addons and the monthly fee, it's become impossible for "quiet" new creators like me too begin, before all the blender Tutorial were about learning, now it's about showing how this or that works 😌😌😔
these are most amazing rigs specially for students, I used these and made couple of animations. the one thing I most like about it it has very clean controls curves. no extra controls for both facial and body.
6:20 Bro, I know this isn’t the point of the video but thank you so much for including this part 💀. I lost my student privileges for Maya recently and was trying to figure out what to do about it now, and this is perfect! Thank you
Subscription is meant to keep you beholden to them forever. "Cancel whenever" sounds like "no strings attached" when in reality it means you are subscribing to your Own Work, forever, according to the terms of the license: "Once your Pro Rigs subscription term officially ends, your rigs will flatten and lock".
6:12 Regardless if it works in Blender or not, it still provides quality rigs for a good price as long as you can afford it. As a Blender user, it's good to have a professional quality rig as a tool. However, it's up to the user to provide quality animation from said tool. That's what I'm going for.
Dude lets go!!!! for some odd reason I was unsubbed from you channel and didn't see any of these recent uploads but I'm pumped to see that I have some catching up to do!
Thank you so much, I guess I had to wait 12 years to finally get something like this, could never find good Riggs or character to animate. I don't like waisting time on fixing a rig, or a texture, just want to focus on animating
W-wait. The singer you credited is you. R-right? That I’m on Fire cover is frickin incredible! I love your animations and your tutorials but omg that cover man! Side note: this looks awesome, but what do you think of Mixamo? You can just put points on your modeled character or just have tons online. They’re pretty good 😊
Mixamo doesnt give you a face rig or bone shapes, ik/fk switches, fancy feet or wrists. To put it short, it just gives you a basic armature with (bad) weights and no features a professional animator needs.
Hi, I am having a question related to animation job roles such as animator, gameplay animator, cinematic animator, technical animator, and others. I want to know what is the difference between a rigger and a technical animator in the industry. Are these roles similar or not? Do technical animators work on animation shots?
Hello Sir Wade Neistadt - I have a forward question. Now before I do so sir, This start up for artist looks really nice to where an artist can go right into animating. However now hear me out. What about the students whom want to take each of the sections that makes up the key categories like Modeling , Texturing and Rigging courses. So that not only one set of student will get what they need but for the more tenacious artist out there that would like to really dig in deeper to learn on each phase works. Not all artist like preset things. Hopefully you understand this and the others whom are building these course for this company. Thank You Sir in advance.
Animprops is a great resource for riggers uploading their rigs too :D!! Tried a couple of rigs from it, there are lots of free rigs there too, great resource
Got prorigs about a week ago for a university project. In Maya 2024 the eyeballs pop out and just don't go back again. So, I don't think it works for Maya 2024 yet regardless of what it's saying on their website. I am now using Maya 2023, and the right hand of the Carl character is broken. I'm still waiting for a reply from their support. I was very hopeful to find something that would break less. Other students in my class have had issues as well with Maya 2024 but have said that Maya 2023 is working for them. So, I will perhaps delete my Pref file for Maya and see if that fixes anything, but any suggestions would be great. I'm also wondering if anyone has had these issues, these rigs look really great otherwise.
That’s very interesting, I use 2024 and I don’t have any major issues. I hope you hear back from them soon! Also try changing your evaluation mode to DG if you want to try a slightly slower but more foolproof way to make a rig work in newer Maya versions!
Full credit for doing an opening animation with a cover of one of Springsteen’s creepiest songs (seriously folks, listen to the entire lyric, it’s The Ballad of Ted Bundy!)
because a pop up will appear asking you to put in your license key. your license key becomes invalid/expired when your subscription ends and so your character will not be visible in your scene
According to FAQ page: "Your rigs will remain active and usable as long as your subscription is current. Once your Pro Rigs subscription term officially ends, your rigs will flatten and lock."
i tested those rigs , i don't know if it's my computer or maya but they are not faste to animate at all , the frame rate drop to 3 fps , while i animate in Blender with an2 5fps frame rate with the same computer
I wished there were more rigs in the syle of Resident evil characters, Metal Gear, Street fighter , king of fighters, final fantasy, tekken, ninja gaiden and in that similar vein ( in between realistic and stylized). Most rigs available are only cartoony pixar like rigs. (although great quality, but it's not the art style that I prefer)Don't mind me just ranting. Closest to those rigs would be some of the Kiel figgings ones , But sometimes in 3ds max you get luckier and find some comic book ish type of rigs and even rigged game characters o
Terrible experience with prorigs. Customer support is very unresponsive and the rigs are glitchy. I’ve had much better luck with just free rigs than the ones from this website that cost money.
The most impressive free rigs I've ever used personally are Rain, Snow and Vincent from Blender Studio. They are super pro control rigs and fantastic character modeling and art direction. You have to want the Pixar-y art style though. There are more rigs, but the others aren't free. Great resources here Wade, thanks!
@@user-lo5yv4ge8u I think the basic rig can be used in Maya, but the control rig is a Blender thing that uses an addon. The control rig is really what you want, it's a beauty. But having this character model only rigged is also a nice asset too.
I tried these out for a hot minute and I had a really hard time with their picker, it seemed needlessly complicated and poorly labelled for which controls you were looking for. It felt very counter-intuitive. Also some of them were buggy, and for some reason the controls were present in renders, no matter if I had them turned off or on. I never got a response from support to solve this.
There customer support is not great. I submitted a ticket last week and didn’t hear back. I sent a 2nd ticket and they’ve had no solutions so far and I don’t know if I’ll hear from them again. I have deadlines I need to make. I wish I had gone with any other rig than one from this company.
Seems like a bad business model. Maya only rigs on subscription VS stock with reviews tested on all different types of formats, stock wins. Then there's the lancer side, for 100 bucks I can pay a rigger in Asia to give me the same quality and I own it.

Awesome video, I remember Michal telling us about this in the epic intensive. I'm really thinking about canceling my adobe subscription for this We'll see.😀
I actually don't need a rig, but I do need characters, either complete or good base mesh for cartoony characters. The quality and style in this vid is perfect. Any idea where to get?
Mixing character creatd by multiple different authors is a lot like using virtual instruments from more than one VST creator... or even so: textures form multiple creators-- no consistency.
Hello Sir, thank you for showing this great rig collection! Purchased a subscription a couple of days ago and I've worked with a few and they are feature rich and and very high quality (both in 'standard shader' mode AND in Arnold (and yes, I made sure to pick your name in the 'how did you hear about us' dropdown).
When your subscription expires, the plug-in that verifies your subscription flattens and locks the rigs, so they only work while you have a license to use them
@@OfficialAEPBR they are really good rigs in order to study them too. Blend shapes, controllers, heat maps and all. I think a blender user could learn how to interpret this very well. As to a 1:1 recreation, that’s kind of infringement of copyright.

Could you do a tutorial for hand animation like the fingers

The most accurate animation of a person playing guitar I´ve ever seen.

The extra controls are toggled off by default. They are in the body polish & face polish channels found on the base control.
