one thing i've seen on another video is that they have 2 models of grenade, one is for when they are stored on a characters ammo pouches and another is for when they are either dropped or thrown on the ground, in this cutscene they probably used the ground model. another reason could be that they up sized grenades an weapons for spartan use, although it seems to big for even that.
@hughcri Well I'm sure most electronics developers would disagree with that :D But my point is that in battle it would be logical to make grenades as small as possible so that they would be easier to use and carry.
