I’m 54 years old and have seen over 250 of the greatest artists of all time at some of the greatest venues, this is one of the best performances I’ve ever seen. ❤️✝️
Lots of players out there getting a ton of attention that don't have a tenth the talent. This guy is among the all-time greats.
Yup!
100%
Chris Duarte is a true blue guitar hero who can play anything and anyone's style as well as his own which is what all the greats do they do a cover that's better than the original like Stevie Ray Vaughan did as well as Mr Gary Moore when he covered Red House at the fender tribute show no one wanted to follow him
an all-time great? you know little and haven't heard much music...
@@INUAGAIN back to your mom's basement you go 😅
@@INUAGAINhater!
Seeing Chris playing/soloing makes the perfect example of an instrument being an extension of the human body.
This guy is not just a stellar musician , he's also a genuinely nice person .A year or so ago he played a weeknight in SF Ca. Aftter the show he was around to hawk his new CD and talk up the fans .I told him about my little radio show in Sonoma Ca .It's unpaid situation , but I have a lot of fun with it .I knew he had a day off between SF and Santa Rosa which was the night of my show . Asked if he wanted talk on air .He drove in the rain and spent over an hour to tell stories .Just a great guy .
you wouldn't know a stellar musician, you just tryin to advertise for him. He is not stellar and everything I hear is a cover song... ho hum warren Haynes will bury this dude, he's stellar and so is Govt Mule and the Allman Bros where he played for 20 years. You all missin somethin in Cali...
I am such a big legged woman.......this song was written 'bout someone like me!!! Duarte, as usual, tears it up!!!
Been following Chris since about 1994. Blew me away then, still blows me away. Jazz, blues infusion! Hendrix + 1990's + Duarte.
can he write a song or just cover everyone else's stuff?
So darn amazing! His kinda possessed howling while being into his solo, the coolest bass player and hell of a drummer that both just intuitively feel when he comes to the end and are soooo on point....and the best is him just saying very calm "thank you" with a big grin ...like nothing was.
AMAZING 👍👍👍
This is some serious bad ass like there's no tomorrow, ass kicking guitar playing. I needed a cigarette after listening to this. Chris is the best.
Luc Fontaine
Cigarette?
With Chinese food?
This guy's heart is HUGE!
Heard that
I've seen this man live and what a show! Too bad he never got the recognition he deserved. He could play anybody's style including SRV. Top notch musician!
This is one of Chris' best charts/solos. There are others, but what Chris does is combine the magical components of Rhythm, lead & bass into a symphony of lay-down blues with all the dissonance & harmonics we expect. He destroys on this cut!
he destroyed the song, you are right. normally, I could sing it but he ruined it... you are settling for something less than. He won't make the list of 100 Best Guitar players ever, unless he is a Freemason. Then he becomes of no use as he is then the devils toy...
Agreed, I've been going to see him when he comes here to Orlando for the last 18 years or so whenever I can. He always remembers me and has a few minutes to talk and is just totally encouraging and a nice guy. Huge fan here!
I was thinking .. If only that guitar could talk, but then I said.. Heck that Guitar doesn't need to talk , it can sing. Chris is simply incredible ...
Got to see him in Houston probally 20 years ago ,great show.
You're awesome Chris! It's nice to see someone genuinely feel their music throughout their body and0 instrument! You energy and talent are incredible. I Have all of his CD's and they are worth every penny! Rock and Jam On!
He's so laid back it's unreal! Chris feels his music just like SRV, & Gary Moore. What a Powerhouse!
laid back but calculated and nuanced
'Chris feels his music just like SRV, & Gary Moore.' what a bullshit statement, he is a good actor. Does he even get permission to use other artists songs? Can he do ANYTHING besides COPY a song? He's just playin and acting to get your attention. Would you know a real artist from a fake? I sincerely doubt it. And how long you been listenin to music? Why am I not drawn to listen to another song of Duarte?
@@INUAGAIN
Did Chris bang your old lady or something? Just wondering because you apparently have nothing better to do than bash on him. If he’s not your cup of tea fine…move on to someone who does. Some of us enjoy what he brings to the table. Do YOU know a real artist from a “fake”? Kinda doubt it…you’re probably a 13 year old in mommy’s basement talking shit about something you know next to nothing about. And couldn’t do if you sold your soul to the devil.
Pretty sure I’ve been listening to music longer than you have. And no one gives a flying f*ck whether you’re drawn to another of his songs or not.
Just go away.
Tremendous player. I have seen him live 3 times. Always gives it all. Bass and drums locked in.
We saw Chris play in Des Moines, Iowa several years ago. He tore it up big time. Fantastic guitarist and very nice man to talk to.
Holy shit! This cats on another level altogether! Fantastic!!!!
The guy is just an amazing player period! The guy has a endless flow in his bag of tricks.
effin' ridiculous! SOOOOO good!! I wish I had 4 hands so I could give this 4 thumbs up! :-)
First time for me,I'm really impressed with this guy!
most underrated guitarist on earth
The word 'underrated' is terribly overrated!
Still jamming this years later, and still amazed at how fast his hands move. fuck yeah \m/
The best drummer of all time
He gets possessed. Amazing channeler of ancient tones!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
My favorite performance by Chris!
Chris is an amazing talent, one of the true greats...and he deserved FAR better camera work and producing from the "Legends TV" producing team. The only time they showed him playing was during solos, but as exceptional as that is, what is extraordinary with Chris is his rhythm/lead funky grooves while he's singing...and if the "Legends TV" team had lived up to their title, they would have shown ALL of that as well. A stunning performance, badly shot and produced...but still just glorious to watch and hear. He IS a legendary talent!!
Just seen this guy first time, man he got chops !!!😎✌️👍🎸
Dang it! I'm addicted to this guy. He's a real artist; he just lets the music and his emotions take over. The result, to me, is guitar magic. He goes off-mike and starts howling.
Love his throaty Strat. In my next life, I wanna be like CD.
I try to set my tone up like his on my Paul Reed Smith and Mesa Mk V. My MXR Carbon Copy, Fulltone OCD, and Wampler compressor help big-time; those and a Big Horsie Wah is all I need.
Notice how his he has his amp travel cases blocking the front of his amps, to prevent that "icepick" phenomenon for closeby listeners. I've even seen guys turn their amps around; they say it sounds better that way. I tend to agree.
What do you mean with "icepick"? Some kind of feedback that hurts the ears?
Thanks for the hint, I wouldn't have noticed it nor knew that it was on purpose for some reason...very interesting inside view 👍
A phenomenal guitar player. A living legend and true artist. One of the most down to earth human beings and compassionate human beings I got the great pleasure to sit and talk to. My deepest respects Love You Chris. Don and Bernie say HELLO
Great performance and super guitar talent ....
ALWAYS the best!!!1 25 tears i've been a fan and the man F&%$#^ing ROCKS!!!
Super impressive playing. Wow. Love all the tones he gets as the song progresses.
Strat magic!
year after year I come back to this performance. not a lot of classic rock legends can perform just as good if not better now than in the past.
I love how you can clearly hear the influence of SRV (and coltrane? in the solos) throughout the song, but he's employing it to make his own superb creation. At one point he plays a Stevie inspired voodoo child lick, as if he were exposing his roots and paying homage to them. The pure emotion he expresses in his playing is just so clear, it's moving.
stevie and coltrane... bliss
what can he play of his own? most anybody can copy someone else's song, I'm kinda sick of listening to the same old songs played thru a different translator. Why doesn't it inspire me?
@@INUAGAINall musicians take inspiration from their influences and for the record his playing is still very fresh and original in my humble opinion
I often wondered what happened to Chris after seeing him play in a bar in Woodland Park, Colorado in the mid-'90s. Glad to see he's still out there, not "burned out" like so many others.
I saw him a few months back in Austin, and he's better than ever!
⚔️🖤🖤🖤⚔️🖤🖤🖤🌹🖤🖤🖤⚔️🖤🖤🖤⚔️
It's Been My Absolute Pleasure to hear this
Absolutely I have loved hearing it
⚔️🖤🖤🖤⚔️🖤🖤🖤🌹🖤🖤🖤⚔️🖤🖤🖤⚔️
Thanks Don this guy is awesome
wow, how am I just hearing about this guy now?! stellar playing by the whole band.
Love Chris' playing and style, he's a little wild for some folks, but I love how raw he is and he is not afraid to take chances. Almost goes into Beck mode around 8:00, hold on for the ride. Great video, thank for sharing! I hope to do some videos of his playing on my channel.
First heard this artist in the mid 90's. Love his sound! Dude can play . . .
I saw Chris at the Snowbird Blues Festival years ago. I couldn't believe how he played the guitar, just rip roar'n !!
Chris has all the technical prowess of SRV but with none of the 'predictability'. Something new and exciting around every turn with this guy!😃
I had the privilege of seeing Chris at a bluesfest about 3 or 4 days before this was taped, He was fucking incredible.! He was the headliner that night and he really brought it. He started his improv-freestyle shredding as he did on this song and I turned around and the crowd started thinning out....apparently they were expecting traditional blues....Chris is far from that.....he is the master of his worn-out Fender. He played well into the evening and just blew me away......
Google the word "cool" and the search engine comes up with this bass player. Bad ass band.
Totally all over the place... Love him thought.. so much talent!!!
I was listening to Pandora (actually I was blogging)radio one evening not really paying attention to the music and this came on and instantly had to know who this way. what a great talent and amazing guitarist.
Talk about a very talented and big hearted guy .for real .
Whooouuuwwww!
This Band is really great and Chris is one of the best.
Fantastic!!!
I saw this guy once a long time ago with long curly hair at a blues fest... he is awesome indeed! Still is too. 👏
Fantastic Guitar and tight always...Chris you always have NAILED IT!!
I ran sound for Chris many years ago. Great guy , lots of fun ,and very down to earth. I learned a lot from him about just being yourself up there and taking a chance once and awhile! As for his music , it speaks for itself as it should. Awesome !!
Thanks bro 🎸🎶🙏✌️
It’s ‘once in a while’
Super ! Big Legged Woman - Chris Duarte on Legends TV program
Duarte sounds so good here. Who else has kind that feel on the guitar? Props to the bass player as well.
I have to agree with you, even though I am a big Joe B. fan...... I've seen Joe in concert 4 times. He used to tour through Ohio a lot. I've only seen Chris once but was fuckin' blown away.....I don't like Joe's newer stuff that well. Chris ranks among the best I've ever seen, and I've seen many....you almost expect sparks to fly from the guitar strings.......Another favorite is Walter Trout.....seen him several times too....search Walter Trout "Red House"
Chris is unbelievable. What a top-shelf talent. Many thanks for posting these videos.
Love having him play our private memorial day parties in the back yard every year!
how much does that cost to get him to play a private party?
About $1,500-$2,000. I don't know if he does any other private events. We're just lucky that he comes through this part of the country the same week we have our annual party.
Dude you killed it bro!!! Nice groove funk!
... nothing less than EXCELLENT! Cheers!
I am liking the sound of that drummer's kit.
Mostró chris genial la banda y su Stratocaster.
Brrr nice .. so much urge in one song ... keeping doing this .. urge has to go out .. good for your health and relationship ;-) really nice groovy playing ..
sz
Great job dodell590, thanks so much for capturing this one!! I'm one of the big legged women this song is about!!!!
It took David Brewster to turn me onto this guy. I remember having a Blues instruction book that had him as one of the examples for soloing and the tablature was making no sense to me because I could not process this guy’s approach, he is amazing.
He's feeling it and so are we !
Just .... WOW ! 😱🤩
Outstanding!
This guy's magic!
Very serious guitar play. Reminds me of Robert Cray Band. Cray is on Veterans Online Radio. This dude should be also. I will make that suggestion. Joe the Vet.
The wild man Chris Duarte. Love this guy.
WOW" these videos of Chris are awsome.. keep them comin'.
Chris is a blues shaman, great !!!
this guy and his band are fantastic he will work on the rest
Incredible
oh that strat tone !!!
Awesome instrumentals!
Tell me who can shred better? ....................This blew my mind!!!!!
Chris you are great.
I’ve listening to you, since you’re first album.
Damn Boy..!
yeaahh...1st heard Chris year 2000 on mp3 & d/loaded it..
THIS DUDE IS CRAZY AWESOME!
Wow!!!cooking man !🎸🎸🎸
Great job ...
i heard Chris on Joe Bonamassa show on planet rock radio, i,ve never heard of him before, Joe plays a lot of guitarists i,ve never heard of & i thought i was clued up on who,s who of blues guitarists.
Speechless
Completely different song from the original, but I love how he makes it his own.
+Krizzly Similar to the version by the late great Bugs.
i have followed him for a while and while listening i was thinking if he ever said the wrong colored hair woman ever come out ...very good and down to earth guy...
Muito bom !! 🇧🇷
best ever! youre my boy Chris!
Hell yeah! He's one bad mofo, and were so lucky we get to witness such a legendary pioneer of the guitar, or in other words the modern day Jimi Hendrix on steroids! Lol
Years ago, when his Texas Sugar album came out, he was merely a great guitarist. Now he's in a league of his own. Thanks Chris for the music.
The man is singing like his guitar, just how
That looks like his old Strat, he retired it, and only plays it on special occasions. Thanks
This is my guitar. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
great song
smokingggggggg!!! thnks dodell5
such a bad ass!!!!
Nice, I really dig the Leslie / Chorus / Vibro pedal he kicked on at 3:20.
Ottimo chitarrista.......
Damn the man is channeling Coltrane!!!
Funny you say that, Coltrane is his biggest jazz influence 😉
