As an outsider view you need a combination of three things to make a successful team. You need talent, experience and chemistry/culture. I combined two because they go together. With the portal availability you can help your team with experience and talent that maybe didn’t develop yet. To me Jimbo brought in talent and the fans loved the recruiting rankings but he forgot the aspects of building a team. So take that 3 or 4 star and let him bake a little longer but is an asset to the team. Let’s see if Elko builds it the right way for longevity or a quick fix. So don’t be discouraged with those who leave. They may be the ones that need to. Good luck

Gaggies, like you, are always pleased with the new coaching staff. Already the grandiose declarations and.bold predictions are flooding Jonestown Station. Y'all are a few days away from conducting another future national championship ceremony and awarding a plaque with Elko and Klein's name on it. Greatest hire ever hired that hired the second greatest hire in the history of hiring. Nothing about Gaggieland is a humble let's wait and see type deal. They could be awesome. They could be average. They could get the coaching aspect, average recruiters or vice versa like Jimbo. I'm of the opinion it's not the coaches or the players, it's the toxicity of the split personality cultists that comprise a large enough segment of the fanbase. Petty, entitled, and, arrogant poor me conspiracy theorists. Literally everything they whined about Texas being. It infects the sports culture of the entire university. Haven't won a natty since Hitler was blitzing Poland and blacks weren't playing yet and have never won a natty in either of the other two major sports. These last 13 years was a self bestowing of blueblood status while Texas entered its dark ages. Meanwhile? Ags couldn't even pull of a conference championship even when they discreetly tried to claim one they never won....So many things said these last 13 years have been so wrong it comes off as satire at this point. But the biggest one? That the nefarious, cheating, back room dealing Sips were the reason A/M never won. 13 years and a playoff trip for them and a Vagisil Bowl for the Gagged em aggies clears that right up for the slow learners.... 👎

No boosters or A&M administrator was telling Jimbo what to do, behind the scenes. He had a free hand to do whatever he thought was necessary. Perhaps that was the problem!

I agree, I personally just don't think Jimbo is what everyone thought he was.

The issue has been the same issue since 1999 - the year Rick Perry became Lieutenant Governor.

Jimbo was stubborn. His offense was dated, predictable, and complex. It took so long for plays to develop and guys to get down field and open. QBs held the ball way too long and paid the price for it. I like that Klein brings in a tri-option (run, QB run, option routes). It seems pretty innovative and he seems like he adjusts offense tempo and packages based on personnel. Jimbo never made adjustments and if he did they were awful. We will see but it’s an exciting hire especially for the remaining talent at A&M.

Coaching hires are a reflection of those who do the hiring. Who hired fisher. That's a culture issue.
