Tough win today. Need to really preach stepping on the gas pedal when we have a chance to build a lead. Up 17-7 and up 20-17 we had chances to really take a hold of the game and didn’t get it done. JJ would seem to be a problem with Darnold playing so well. But he will be on a rookie contract. Great teams let top QB picks sit and learn. Aaron Rodgers was on the sideline watching Favre for years and Jordan Love was on the sideline watching Rodgers for years. If the team can swing it, that is a great formula.
So what does this interview tell us what the Vikings will do with Sam ? Will they follow a packet way of development for quarterbacks where a rookie sits while the established veteran gets to start . Sam deserves at minimum bakers deal and that has some comparables . Would Sam take a team friendly deal ? Now as suggested the Vikings had a similar record as last year. They won a bunch of close games . They even won with a quarterback who had one-day in the building but that did fade but if he started at the beginning of the season it maybe similar . It may just say the coach has a way of getting the most out of the quarterbacks under tutelage.
