Hello! I hope you had a wonderful day! I was hosting a virtual sew day and it was a lot of fun to spend time with talented ladies. I just want you to know that I enjoy the content on your channel. I hope you have a glorious week ahead. Thank you for sharing your video.
I have a tub of fabrics and embellishments labeled "rice bags" as I really need to make these for gifts! Just adore your ideas and tips Jean!! Also, I just happen to also adore that blouse yo have on. It looks like your famous rocks/stones!! Did you make that fabric??? Oh, I hope to meet you in July! I'll be there all week at QA and I'm signing up to volunteer at the Quilt Show. Been waiting a long time for this bucket list! I'm mailing my two Wish Postcards on Monday and my quilt is all wrapped and ready to mail soon. SO EXCITED!!!! Hugs from NE Ohio.
Thanks Chris and thanks for supporting the show! We're looking forward to seeing you in July. Jean didn't make her blouse, but you're right it does look like stones.
You are so talented and inspiring! I just bought the pattern at your store last week and am excited to make my own. I have a question. Do you do your hand stitching before or after you apply the shapeflex to the back? Thanks ❤
I’m not sure these rice bags are what I thought they were. In my family, we fill a sewn sack with raw rice, intended to be a soft heated sack, used across the back of a neck, sore shoulders, or other sore muscles.
Looks like a project that can be really addictive!! Makes me want to gather textured fabric! 😅
They are addictive!

I asked Jean, and she said she likes to stitch after the Shape Flex. The fabrics are more stable.
I so want to make one and add shashiko stitching. Is your pattern downloadable or do you mail it. I live in New Jersey. Thank you.
The pattern is paper only at this time. Will will ship to you though.

Those are great too! These bags are based on traditional Japanese rice pouches.
