This is a massive TLC to our favorite gargantuan. It's time we retire cthulhu and the kraken for after the Gargantuan Leviathan STORY fork is complete. Then maybe some real monsters will come out ;)
I can't wait to see what happens with the finalized story and their polished cinematic sequences. With unknown worlds (creators of subnautica) backing them it could be incredible.
Please give some suggestions on a sunbeam event or If you like my idea!!
I hope the devs will allow Xbox/playstation mods. I would love the Garg mod.

Maybe a special craftable item like a sort of messager to tell them what to do, or a special craftable weapon blueprint to scare away the Garg like a special laser similar to a railgun or somthing and you can find the sunbeam crew but deceased, as reward for finding it though maybe a railgun but like the “lite” version to detour “smaller” leviathans or some of the other modded creatures. As cool as Cthulu is, I'm glad that the Garg will be the focus, since it has a better lore friendliness and is overall a more unique idea.

@@spiceysprite4630 I'd play it. The main hub would be a large submarine that you have to take care of and it'd have a bay full of ships similar to the cyclops. You could explore it in even greater detail with Cyclops and you'd have to return to the mother ship to resupply you're energy. It could also be multiplayer where many people can crew the big sub or smaller sub or even the exploration mechs!

@@retardo545 I definitely remember a time when the reaper was largest, back during when it was super early in the development stages. Empress wasn't even created at the time and there was no lava zone or lost river
@@vincenttrigg4521 yet you completely dodged the reef back, which was also in the game at that time, yes he was a little bit longer than the reef before they made him smaller, but remember that the empress wasn't down in the lava zone she was by one of the islands as a seriously aggressive creature that enjoyed spending time in the stratosphere
Honestly I love what they did with the adult, instead of making it straight transparent, they made it transparent and dark, so it still blends with the void, absolutely terrifying
The adult garg with a hat is the best thing in this mod.

@@Testsubject276 Honestly it makes way more sense that they die instantly. Squishy human bodies wouldn't even last a millisecond in those kinds of temperatures before they just explode from the inside out.
Here is how to implement the Garg in the Sunbeam event:
There is no need to put it after the Sunbeam explosion. The gun destroys it pretty good and there is no need for a Garg to finish it off. Instead what if the Garg destroys the Sunbeam if you have deactivated the gun prior to it's arrival? It would make more sense for the captain to be alive and say the lines that refer to the Garg while it destroys the Sunbeam underwater.

I had a mod idea that had me fearing the void even more, it would be where you'd enter the void and all you can hear is roars from below and ofc if this was real, people would want to explore, so they could make it where if you reach a certain depth your pda states "aurora sized leviathan detected turn back befor-" then your pda shuts off and all your lights do the same as the screen goes black then you hear one final roar.

Maybe I’m thinking about it too much but I feel the gargantuan leviathan shouldn’t be a threat to the player Bc you’d be too small to be considered food and not worth the energy. Maybe I’m wrong idk.

What if the cthulu tentacles could grab onto the cyclops and sea voyager and pull them down slowly, giving you a window of escape although just barely. Possibly a custom cyclops voice line saying how it cant be saved but you can still get out, followed by the cyclops automatically going into a detonation destruction sequence after 400-500 meters.
Voice lines could go like this:
Tentacles first grab: warning: creature attack
100m: captain, an unknown entity is dragging us down
250m: captain, secondary systems offline(fire suppression systems no longer work, lights remain stuck at either on or off depending on what you had them at)
300m: captain, defensive systems offline.(torpedo tubes can no longer be loaded or unloaded and will nlt fire
375m: (all lights shut off and the indoor lights are stuck as red emergency lights)
400m: the ship is lost, captain. It is recommended you leave immediately.
500m: primary systems: offline. Emergency Life support systems functional. (Apon trying to access the vehicle bay you'll be met with either the cyclops saying "vehicle bay systems: offline" or the message will show on the console)
625m: (the cyclops begins a scripted destruction sequence, much like if it's hull integrity hit zero normally. The only exit is the dive hatch)
If grabbed at or below the depth a scripted action or voice line will play it will play them in order from most shallow to current until they all play or you leave your cyclops.

Regeneration: The gargantuan leviathan can regenerate its wounds within a matter of seconds. This is partially because of its high metabolism.

The new voice line that they used is more child friendly
But much more sad because you can hear him just telling everyone to run to the life pods and that he won't make it it's really sad seeing him going down with his ship but the voice acting is great
I have an idea for the Void, to make it less a flat cliff and more an ocean trench:
-a more gradual slope, like a volcano or crater ridge (that you have Leviathans not run into/through)
-Quartz and Brain Coral crystal biome plain that goes from 350 down to 1600 meters, with fossils, Ancient tech, and leviathan bones. (Inspired by concept art)
-have near the 3800 meter a region (creatures can't spawn beyond 4 km, and land cuts off below 3 km, and crater is ~3.3 square km) that drops off into a depression too small/hazardous for the Gargantuan. The biome being inspired by the cut content Lava Vent Forest, has smaller concept art creatures, and goes down sharply from 1600 to maybe 3000 meters?
My good sir this is a good idea it's just you would need the stuff to traverse it and the oraenbgeis nowhere deep enough to do exploration
Imagine, in the Subnautica universe, a Garg actually jumps in front of the laser, saving the Sunbeam.
That'd be a pretty unique story plot.

@@Dylbz-ne8st gun prevents anything from entering or leaving the planet. Once it misses, the ship will be in the atmosphere so gun will detect no threat

@@Dylbz-ne8st Sunbeam entered the atmosphere of the planet and got decently close to ground in a few seconds. It's insanely fast. But alien gun wind up is pretty slow. By the time the gun "reloades" sun beam prolly would have landed on the ground. But ofc you wouldn't be able to leave the planet
@@Dylbz-ne8st the gun shoots anything that enters and leaves the planet including meteors etc. It wouldn't focus Sunbeam spesificly

Is it, though? Its face is kind of dumb and its far too big to make sense, and its 'head tentacles' look so bad. It doesn't really look like it belongs in the game at all especially since its a game with so much focus on actually feasible alien biology

@@HackboyPlays I differentiate them with the way they talk, there's something in my head that actually keeps them apart from each other, plus Anthomnia's scream is still rupturing my phantom ears.
Actually that sound file WAS in the original alpha releases when the gun platform and sunbeam were first added.
But I think the scream right at the end WAS removed before it was public for, yeah, obvious reasons.
All that before what we have now.
I think the former works with that added shock value. HEARING a moment of death just makes it hit far more.
Man, I would love to have a cutscene where you go to the dead zone (or the void, however you wanna call it) and you see a ghost leviathan heading towards you but suddenly there's huge movement and a loud ass roar that makes the ship you're in move around violently and by the time you look back to where it was, it's gone

Honestly I hope the gun would just damage the Sunbeam and cause it to go near the water but not explode. Then when it starts slowly flying away the Garg leaps out and finishes the ship off

I've never played Subnautica but I should, I have a huge fear of the ocean and the Garg does NOT help! I think I will buy the game when this mod comes out; I'm REALLY hoping there is gunna to be a massive wave the Garg makes when it crashes back into the water. What other mods are in this game?

Oh god, that screen from the captain. It's one thing to just see the Sunbeam blow up knowing everyone aboard died, but it's far more gruesome to hear the screams of terror nanoseconds from the explosion.
Fun fact, ain’t it funny how the Architects, a species so developed that they can upload their consciousness to new bodies, decided that when quarantining a planet that they should just shoot anything that tries to enter or leave, instead of maybe a more practical tractor beam

It would honestly be amazing if the Garg did a full arc out of the water when it jumps up to get the sunbeam, showing off its immense size.
I think if they wanted to show the leviathan off more they should have it grab the ship before it gets shot and have gravity just have it fall back down just barely avoiding the shot, or have an escape pod have barely just deployed, lands in the water as a small thing you see in the distance and when they talk on the radio the leviathan just swallows the pod whole

I think theres a bug." to a crewmate or something in the line before the gun powers up

You can't tell me otherwise, the scariest thing in subnautica is the feeling you get from looking and seeing absolutely nothing in any direction, and then looking down and just seeing darkness. And the fact that you know that there are things that can and will kill you if you go out too far.
an awesome idea is the sunbeeam could get pulled down and crunched by the garg but not killed, and you have a timed event where you go halfway down the void to try save them or retrieve something

Not sure how much change has been done in the last 6 months, maybe a lot, maybe a little but that boat looks very square in a world where everything is very rounded. In fact in looks like a boat you would seen in the oceans today instead of 100's of years in the future technology wise.
