I’m sorry for all the comments but this is perhaps perfectly put when it comes to water sports. Thanks Kai for the thorough visual and poet way of showing us the courage it takes to hop off the rocks. Any rocks. Around the world those who leap with courage and trust in themselves is what a watermen is all about.
I knew it was hard as I have watched some paddle out videos of Jaws but this was by far the most intense. It looked like a life for death situation. The way it washes over the rocks without loosing any power.
Can you imagine how many shatters and lost fins these guys boards would have when letting their boards go and smashed against the rocks!!!?? 😂😂😂Worth the paddle out get a jet ski save yourself the embarrassment’s of getting in by yourself 😂😂😂😂😂
Picture a big, hinged acrylic tube floating on the water with pontoons under it. Waves just go under it. Some big waves go over it. Put a powered pulley in the tube and latch on like it's a ski lift.
Kai Lenny my neighbor just lives minutes from here, and I think he surfs a lot here because I follow him sometimes, and he always ends up here, or the grocery store in Tehi! Meh halo
You gotta have balls of steel to even attempt getting past the rocky beach break......once accomplished said balls become titanium, provided your surfboard is still in one piece...... after that if you actually catch a wave your balls turn into diamonds !
What about paddling out from pawella cove. Used to surf in there when the swells were big. Nobody surfed Jaws then, & didnt even have that name. But we saw perfect huge waves that had no good jump off or paddle out. Did see the wind surfers hit it first. Which is why I ask would the cove be a better place to get out. The paddle would be longer but as long as the cove wqasnt closing out I would think that would be a better option even for the skis.
Why don't these guys know how to duck dive the waves these are just in shore waves that are small can imagine when they start getting out there shouldn't be out there if they can't even paddle out from the shore give me a break
You sound like an absolute kook. These guys are surfing one of the most dangerous waves with probably the most dangerous entry from the shore in the world. You don't even seem to understand they're riding guns which you cannot duck dive, even if they could duck dive them (which is impossible) they still would not avoid the power and turbulence of those waves.
The greatest surf story that I’ve watched

I'm reminded of Angelo Dundee's book about boxing: "anyone whom swings their leg over the rope is brave"
Great video! Should be required viewing for any newbie thinking about attempting JAWS.
Wow. Just Wow!! Poor paddleboarder just felt the wrath 🤙
And I have difficulty getting in and out of 3 ft beach break :)
I never knew that paddling out was so difficult. That was insane.
Soooo nice to catch a boat out...
Possibly the heaviest experience in surfing.. paddling out and then back in at peahi, not to mention actually catching a wave out there..
Absolutely smoked, but mad props for that attempt!
I just saw the death foam😮. Holly shit boyz🤘

I just saw the death foam😮. Holly shit boyz🤘is that Shane?!!
Low tide appears to be a bad time to paddle out😢😂🤙
And now you know why tow-ins, launching at Maliko got popular.
Surprised they have a board left

Actually it does lose all its power right there on the rocks! That’s the end of the journey for the energy !
@@0warami_7oo yes, you are right. I was just trying to say that it was rushing over the rocks with such power.
Mad Dogs. Macio4ever🙏
Don't post up next to him in the lineup. He's chumming for tiger sharks after being dragged over barnacles n reef😅
What a nightmare 😬

360p adds to the roughness quite well, not to mention the added "kaBOOMmm" sound of each wave lol
Fuck no paddle out! Paddle in!

bro was on a wavestorm coming back in. 5:56
With a backpack! Reckon he was a photographer who was out there shooting from the channel. Nuts!

Life’s a beach!😂
Fukasaka!
That first guy in the water should have swam out towing board.

You try it!! But a word of advice....make sure you have someone standing by to administer CPR to you!! 😂
That does not look like fun. I wish that guy was Joe Biden.
