@@SurvivalRussia Good luck... we can really use that here in Germany. One economic horror story follows the other. And most of it is due to those idiotic "sanctions". @@giostisskylas I know, so the "good luck" was a sincere wish for good luck to you guys. The German and EU "elite" have no courage too stand up against the US. The EU is committing suicide by order of the ones who rules the US, and it it's not Biden ruling the US...

Y’know, that central column area sure looks like a perfect place for a masonry stove/oven/fireplace. It’s probably in the blueprints, but I couldn’t resist inserting my opinion. Here, in Manitoba, Canada, my Mennonite forebears constructed house barns. Essentially the house was built as part of the barn. The centre of the house had large chimney area, partly to heat the upper level, and partly to provide a small chamber to smoke meat, etc. The openings were filled with bricks, mud and straw, then heavily coated with plaster to prevent a disastrous fire. Their construction methods were brought to North America from Russia and Ukraine. One of my favourite episodes of yours was the elderly neighbor baking blinzes or pastry.

Is this gonna be two levels? I like your music.. I found old Russian folk music about 20 years ago and have two or three cd's crammed full of it.. I really enjoy to listen to it.. especially on those nice warm summer evenings out in my back field.. So calming and relaxing some of it and so full of life and energy at other times.. I have passed 70 now and can remember back to my youth in Chicago in the different ethnic areas hearing old Russian, Polish, Italian and may other types of music.. as I walked from area to area.. It was a less violent place then and children where always looked after no matter where they were and who's kids they were.. Thanks as always Lars.. now it is off the your buddies you tube channel.. carry on!

A yurt would be a great project at the campsite. Or a large enclosed bug net area 🤔 Before you put the floor down, dig out a root cellar area. Drone footage 🤗👍👍👍
Water table is too high to get a decent one dug there. Best bet would be to dig out a little bit, put in several plastic liners, then a rienforced concrete wall and floor, and half burry a quonset hut type of affair. Quite strond for snow loading, and SUPER easy to build, even if short handed. once built, cover in more plastic barriers, and bury, maybe addind some chemical soil binder, or a few sacks of portland cement to the soil. Hell, Elmer's glue would be a good option, just to keep the dirt from flowing off the top if it gets saturated.
Man this thing is gonna look cool when it's finished brother. When done after all that hard work sweat, blood and maybe tears. It will be awesome eating with the family and friends for a job well done. Of course drinks of choice all around lol.
I love the building. I don't understand why those cross braces are cut as they are. It seems like so much wood has been cut away that could have been making contact. with the beams.

Hey Lars I've never built a house in the back country but I'm sure you are doing it wrong. Ha! Ha! Ha! Nice to see it taking shape my man. All your hard work is paying off.
I've heard you talk about diesel before, & I've always meant to ask: Doesn't treating with the lumber with diesel make it a bit more more flammable? Do you do something else as a fire retardant?
Hello Lars! I've never seen construction like this one. Always something new from your videos! I know your father in-low is an architect but I have to ask - will roof under 35 degree angle withstand the huge amount of snow you guys get there?..
@@SurvivalRussia I was thinking the same thing, im guessing the "angledness" (sorry i dont know the word in english)will be added latetr over this frame?
This is definitely not a Yurt. A yurt is held upright by compression and tension by its outer structure. The inner centre post is not absolutely necessary. Of course, throughout Central Asia there are variations depending on their local conditions like wind and snow load. So you have differences in the roof construction and the most imaginative one is the centre of the roof is anchored down to the Earth by ropes. The whole structure is held upright by the springiness of the outer structure . I think Nomad Architecture on RUclips has shown them (Incredible dome tents of Iran). It looks like Lars is building a Danish/Russian post and beam barn type construction.
👍 .. interesting so far Lars .. with the end product seemingly going to be even more so . If I may please, doesn't removing that amount of wood from those beams via the two holes negatively affect the structural strength of those beams .. or won't that matter? Thanks for the update .. take care ..
I had the same concerns as Richard Brooks. It looks like the effective support is borne by only a small portion of the wood. Also, is the roof going to be flat or are the rafters you showed going to angle up at the center? If so, then the cross timbers will not be bearing the weight of snow.
The ceiling joists should be fine unless there's an under purlin. Snow load will put the joist in direct tension or compression depending on the rest of the construction.
Yeah, I will check him out. Just because I don't agree with President Putin doesn't mean I have to boycott all Russians, just some.
