I quit 6 months ago and, honestly, the only thing that improved was my short term memory… slightly. I had hobbies when I smoked weed, but now I don’t have the passion for anything. What I can say is that I’ve never been happy, even as a child. I was always dissatisfied with everything. When I started smoking, I experienced real joy for what felt like the first time. I used to smoke and clean my house, work on projects, make websites, etc. Now I don’t smoke and my house is a mess and all I do is work and work out. Working out helps while I’m doing it, but as soon as I’m home alone, I feel like garbage and I have no satisfaction in anything.

I’m almost 2 months without weed and for the last 8-9 years I was smoking at least 5-10 times a day without any breaks. I quit because it had a strange effect on me, I realized that even though it was euphoric it took a lot away from my confidence, social skills, finances, and ambition. Surprisingly the first month was the easiest part for me with little to no withdrawals or side effects. I thought stopping would effect my appetite, sleep, and happiness but overall all of those things have remained the same. All throughout my addiction I thought I would never be able to stop and ultimately powerless over a plant. I’m at the point where I do have mood swings which sucks but because I was honest with everyone in my life about what I was doing and why I was doing it. This past week has been a lot harder for me psychologically but im not willing to go back because the positives have definitely outweighed the negatives from stopping. My emotions flood in so intensely sometimes that I cry from euphoria, but other times I feel extremely bored and somewhat depressed. I’m finally getting back to all of the things I was passionate about in my younger years and my relationships with my coworkers, friends, family, and girlfriend are improving. I’ll be turning 28 a few months from now and figured it was about time to stop, or at least try. Before it was too late and all of my dreams and ambitions fade away into late adulthood. If any of you feel like you need to stop you have to try at least, it makes it easier taking it a day at a time and reminding yourself that if things ever get really bad you could always go back whenever you want. The only thing keeping me sober is I did not quit forever. It’ll always be there, but the earlier you can break the cycle the better. After almost 2 months I can see that I was a lot more depressed while I was using. Just wanted to put my thoughts out there somehow so here they are.

I smoked for 2 years straight. Went cold turkey by going back to my hometown as the substance is not available back home. This was the best way to force myself quit. 9 days i have not smoked any weed. I get dreams about things i desired and wanted sometimes the dreams are so depressing i wake up feeling the same thing and carry it along day. During the day i even with weed i used to workout so i kept that as i knew this would help me. Meet your friends, go for that long car ride, slowly things will fall in place. You are not late. Right? And being a stoner might make it easier for people to use you, say shit to you, or i mean, you may not be so quick to make a comeback lol. I sometimes think having more friends could help, or even a gf, lol, yes i'm OPEN TO ONE but it's not a main goal! And another point, enemies might make better friends, you already got past the bs, you now have shit to prove to eachother, funny how life works. The book even says if you don't have any, make some lol. Some people do suck, avoid them at all costs, they will drain us and take us down with their misery. Some people definitely think the same about stoners, think about it...
I'm also learning that all good things, even friendships or mentorships may come to end at some point and that's ok.

Weed has kept me from self harm and suicide in multiple times in my life, before i started smoking i had a lot of depression that was caused by losing loved ones in my family, even my dogs had been poisoned and lost them both on the same day ,i had planned to end my life on a lot of occasions, a friend came by one day and offered a puff of his joint, to be honest, it was the 1st time in 3 years i had actually felt good in a span of 4 years suffering from life ending depression, my friend actually never saw me smiling and was shocked to see me smiling.3 years later I'm still here and today I'm happily married with a baby boy and another on the way, im still smoking in private and it hasn't affected my everyday life at home and at work, so in my opinion, it saved my life so to suffer through withdrawal is like saying thank you for saving my life, i mostly think that it all depends on the way you use it, but i guess people are different in the manor of withdrawal,me myself, i am a very active person and busy al the time, the worst withdrawal simtome i get is a headache at most. its all about the mindset

  • @DreamWeaverTeam
    @DreamWeaverTeam День назад

I have been sober for over two months now. For the past five years, I was a heavy consumer, constantly high and considered myself a functional stoner. However, this lifestyle did not align with my overall healthy and active persona. The urge to smoke every day lingers, with some days being more challenging than others. During bouts of heightened anxiety, my cravings intensify, leading to feelings of deep depression and a significant decrease in motivation. Despite these struggles, I maintain a regular workout routine and even instruct fitness classes, supporting others while battling my own inner turmoil, which sometimes makes me feel like a hypocrite. I felt compelled to share my journey as even though I am committed to sobriety, the desire to get high persists daily.

I have found that if I’ve been taking a break from weed and I feel depressed then weed helps as a temporary cure. However if I start smoking regularly the weed can start to add to the depression. Ive found that exercise as simple as a 30 minute walk is very helpful. Moving the body really helps me both when I am or am not smoking weed.

Iv been sad my whole life, I remember the day I tried weed at 18 I just felt so happy, it actually opened my spiritual side, made me a happier person and more grateful for nature and music and people. It made me grateful for everything and made me love everything and discover new hobbies. I’m 23 now and 3 days without weed, Iv had a few breaks and each break I had I am just sad again like I was the first 18 years of my life. I’m 10x lazier than I was when I was smoking weed, I’m more sad, more angry, and I have way less energy then ever. This isn’t fair. Weed literally made me a better person yet I have to quit because I just feel like it needs to happen yet I don’t have a actual reason. I don’t understand. Weed is the only thing that made me not depressed.

14 days sober and I’m sleepy tired heaviness on my mind. It can’t be the weed. I would have been able to overcome this feeling with a blunt. Smoking herb is a lifestyle so if you battle with aniexty and depression I know it hard. I started smoking in 2011 and I was fine until I stopped! I’m lost I don’t like pharmaceuticals or nor do I want to take meds.
Somedays I’m normal for parts of the day but towards the end of my day i feel like something missing. I’ve lost weight and my girl who stopped with me has a disability.. she suffers from depression and since she stopped you can really see how shifted she has become. She looks fatigue most day now it’s like pressure and it shows on her face. I don’t know if this is the right decision or the worse. Not seeing the benefits this way around

After 15 years of addiction and on-off depression I think I am finally doing it.
I've tried to quit several times but I think that this is the first time I am being successful.
Depression a major symptom, it tells you that there's something seriously wrong in your life, your environment, your relationships or your approach to life.
When you are in that state, addictions hit much harder as you struggle to find a way to cope in this environment. Weed and nicotine are the drugs of compromise, thus, the only way to truly break the circle is to stop compromising.
Willpower is always running out, you need to be in that environment that makes you strong and recharges your energy everyday.
Seek for your Ikigai, consult a professional or open up to a good friend, seek for wisdom and purpose. You live in a world that is trying to abuse you and take away your time/energy. Rise above, be strong.
    Goodluck everyone.

I’ve been a daily cannabis user for the greater part of 16 years with a seven month break that I took last year. Everything that I convince myself about marijuana to be true for myself is false. But here I am, smoking again. Physical and mental health are such an important part of my identity. That seven month period of sobriety allowed me to bring out the best in myself and it’s what is motivating me to quit again. Met the most beautiful dude of my life and we are still together but my use is putting stress on our relationship.
My physical health, strength, and stamina improved. My appetite was better and I gained muscle and fat. For me that is an accomplishment. I eat like a bird when I smoke weed because I tend to forget, my anxiety skyrockets and I become passive, so I don’t do as well at the gym or with anything as I should or could because… fuck it.
Additionally, all of this medical jargon surrounding epilepsy and cannabis is subjective. If anything, it makes my seizures worse and CBD does absolutely nothing for me.
The messed up thing is…I know that but I still justify it as a means to smoke. I’m tired of having sticky lips, oily skin, and my clothes smelling like skunk.

Thanks for the video, nearly 6 weeks since my last smoke. I was less depressed when I was smoking but there were side effects when I was smoking that I wanted to get rid of - short term memory problems, spending too much money on weed, not getting some practical things done, my life becoming a bit stagnate. I think depression is separate to the whole quitting thing and smoking just masked it. I have exercised more since quitting and am eating more healthy but I still have quite a few terribly depressed days every week which I thought would be gone by now. I don't drink but I do think insomnia during the night does increase my depression. I have been diagnosed with ADHD and I was probably self medicating with weed a bit. I just want things to get better.

Your content is really helping me right now! I've been struggling with marihuana addiction for a long time now and I've always felt that people don't take it seriously. Thanks to you guys I can finally accept that my addiction is a serious problem and my opinion about it is valid!

I was chronically depressed before I started smoking weed (17) and a decade later nothing has changed, weed to numbs the emotion and let’s you focus on inane things at the cost of productivity and motivation in my experience.

For many of us, quitting was just the first step, we must drop the entitled mindset, build self esteem and confidence.. therapy, work on underlying trauma

Not reccomending but what worked for me was microdosing magic mushrooms.. In small amounts I don't trip and it helps get rid of my anxiety and give me more motivaiton!

I am Day 2. I've been crying so much. I feel like this can't be done. Been smoking since I was 19 years old. Now I am 36 years old an I am tired of what weed is doing to me. More depressed, intense anxiety. But now since I am sober, I am more sad n just confuse

My daughter once had a friend say something like “I just smoke weed all the time because life sucks”. So she asked him the obvious, “are you so sure life doesn’t suck because all you do is sit around and smoke weed?” He didn’t really have an answer.

Even if I smoke weed I used to help out more when I was in the beginning of my addiction with meth and I was trying to quit it helped me out and it got me through the 6 years but now I don't need it no more I'm strong enough to not ever go back to that drug and depression still there I just actually think when I stopped smoking weed I could start to put my mind at peace and I won't get attacked as much and I'll be able to really just think and be clean and sober for one time in my life you know really sober!

Weed keeps me at a 4/10 - no less, but no more, either.
Take the weed away, that becomes a 1/10. But that gives me a reason to do the deep, real work it takes to get to those upper numbers. To find the satisfaction that comes from being truly proud of myself, from spending my life helping others, from knowing that other people’s lives are actually better because I’m in them.
It is scary, having to deal with days of 1s and 2s without that super easy crutch to bring it back just below mid. But scarier to me is living the only life I’ll ever get being content with mediocrity instead of ever finding out what I’m truly capable of.
