Amy - Cast iron skillets are great. Never use soap to clean them. Wipe them out with a paper towel, use hot water to rinse, then use Kosher salt and a paper towel to "scrub" the pan clean. Hot water here is key for the rinsing. Cooking with oil in these pans is what will keep them "seasoned". I have two I use often, and they are so well-seasoned that food does not stick. I love how heavy they are and they heat evenly. Great for baking in the oven as well - think cornbread or oven pancakes.
My whole kitchen is pioneer woman too! I love all the things I own except for her silverware and her knife set. I'm not sure if I got a bad set with the knives but the rusted really quickly and how her silverware is made, mold can get inside the handles. Other than that, I really love her stuff! Thank you for the video! Your previous videos of Pioneer Woman hauls is what got me into it. Lol Have a wonderful weekend! :)
I used to read her recipes many years ago when she just had a cooking blog. I used to think, "this woman needs to have her own cooking show". But back then she was a nobody. She had the best darn recipes! I loved how she was so thorough and had photos throughout the recipe. Very easy to follow and nothing really fancy. Just good old home cooking! I'm glad to see that she's made it big! I love all of your cute kitchen stuff!

Hi Amy your videos are so entertaining and fun... I just wanted to let you know that Seasoning your cast iron skillets before using it for the first time helps them maintain their sheen and helps them to last long and once you season them 1 time you will not ever have to use soap on them ever again... Here is how you do it, using hot water, dish soap and a scouring pad you scrub them down with soap and water on both the tops and the bottems of them literally all over including the handles... rinse the soap off with hot water... Dry them off completely and once they are dry using crisco shortening you want to wipe the entire pan liberally down with the Crisco oil all over it... Then put them in the oven face down for about an hour or so... Turn the oven off and let them cool completely before removing them from the oven... Then you will be able to clean them easily afterwards... Just rinsing them with hot water, drying them down completely then spraying them with nonstick cooking spray... Happy cooking with that super adorable skillet of yours 😊😍😊... Love your videos by the way my hubby says that you remind him of me because like you I get super excited with all things pioneer woman... Love it LOL...

I NEED IT ALL. Btw, cast iron is kinda intimidating but it's pretty easy to clean! After cooking, I get it a little wet in the sink and then scrub with salt until there's no food left. I then lightly coat the entire pot with vegetable oil and place back on the stove. You basically just heat it up until the oil just smokes A LITTLE. The whole thing probably takes me 5 mins, and you get a much better taste and sear from cast iron. Your pan eventually starts to add flavor to your food the more you use it. Just NEVER USE SOAP and *never* put it away damp or wet with water or it will rust. It's much more simple than it sounds 😂
And making bacon in it first is a great way to get a really good coating on it.. Just heat the pan in the over first to get it really HOT! and make sure to cook the bacon on med low heat.. And dont forget you oven mitts!!
The more you use it, the better it becomes...cast iron is awesome...they just need to be dried completely and don't use soap on them. Just put them on the stove after rinsing to dry on low heat.

I use it all the time- yes, roast chicken or pork tenderloin in it. Apple cranberry crisp. Spinach/artichoke or hot cheese dips, scalloped potatoes, Frittata, etc. Use your champagne glasses girl! Mimosas and brunch♥♥ You can also use the glass cover of your little cupcake stand as a cloche, put it over a little plant. Great video, it's so fun to see you and Bradley enjoying being together. Pretty things in the kitchen make me happy and make cooking more fun. You can NEVER make too many kitchen / cooking videos!

I adore how Bradley is like, "Did you use that yet?" It's like he thinks things are for use or something. I mean, sometimes you just need a pretty pan or bowl! hahaha. I have a batter bowl that's from the fall collection and I use it all. the. time. It's literally the perfect bowl for using a hand mixer with. And I love the pour spout on it! I need a serving bowl set. The big one would make a great family salad bowl. That bread pan is sooooo adorable!!!! I see myself creating a registry sometime soon with all pioneer woman stuff. lol. Cast iron is amazing, and if you get over the fear of it, you will love using it. I have a huge pan, and if it came pre-seasoned, you've likely got it easy. Basically you don't use soap on them. Cook something in it, then rinse it, use a brush or a non-soaped sponge (and you can buy a scraper if you need to get some tough stuff off of it. Just go on amazon and type in cast iron scraper). You can scrub it with sea salt if you have problems getting stuff off, but chances are you won't need it. It'll just wipe off easily. Then take it to your stove, turn it on and let all the water evaporate off the heat. DON'T WIPE IT DRY, and don't let it air dry or it'll rust. Once it's cooled a little bit, you take some oil and wipe it around in the pan with a paper towel until you coat the whole thing. (some people do the smoke method, but you don't need to do that unless you're reseasoning it.) Cooking bacon always gives it a good coating too. :)) Cast iron is great because you can transfer from the stove top to the oven mid bake. I rarely use my other pans for cooking meals anymore. Also, I love when Bradley is in your videos. You guys are so cute together. :)
Any fellow Canadians find that their Walmarts have way less Pioneer Woman inventory? Or is it just mine? I love so much of the stuff you have Amy. Eventually I want to replace all my dishes ans glasses with Pioneer Woman ones but our Wal-Marts barelt have anything. I can't even find the set of pots and pans. Yeah I've noticed that Canadian walmarts have less selection, but I think they're slowly bringing more of her products in! I keep checking and I'm finding new things every so often, I just found her sugar bowl and the pitcher after months of hunting. Just takes time and patience (and lots of hope haha)
Cast iron- you don't use soap on it. Soak it and then clean it, don't use SOS pads either. Dry it on stove, let it cool some. But while warm, use paper towel to spread thin layer of Crisco in it. You have to do this everytime you use it. Good way to get iron in your bloodstream! ☺
the plate with the colander is for if you have strained fruit (or anything that will be eaten/used right away) you can get the bulk of the water out in the sink and then keep the food in the colander and put the plate underneath to catch excess water, for serving without having to dirty another dish!
So many of Bradley's comments have come out of my husband's mouth about my buying things :) You need to get the 6 drawer tea box!! A little more than I wanted to spend but makes my counter so pretty!!
seasoned means it is sealed... you must wash it after cooking with warm water and a brush... then DRY it right away and with a paper towel or rag put light coating of olive oil all all over it ..and put it away...do this every time you cook...i always use a bit of oil or butter when i cook...
That's a lovely collection. When you're young and starting out you have the freedom to choose what you love and run with it! I think her things are pretty, but my husband and I have built a huge collection of Pfaltzgraff Folk Art over a period of thirty years. It cost a fortune but it was worth it because we love it and bought most of ours while it was still made in the US. You got in on the beginning of the PW collection, so someday, you'll have an awesome collection.

I love that cast iron skillet with the butterfly! I love butterflies. Do you know if they have that separate or do you have to buy the set of pots and pans to get it?
Once you start cooking with cast iron, you'll never want to go back! I love to use mine for any type of meat (think chicken breasts or pork chops) because you can brown the outside, and then put it in the oven at 350 to finish cooking it all the way through. It makes the meat really juicy and delicious!

Ive been waiting for this video!! Ive been getting a lot of Pioneer woman stuff on clearance or on sale. I have the pioneer woman serving bowls but they are plastic and have lids. I love them and they were only $14! I wish I could find that loaf pan. Ive been looking and looking.

I love Pioneer Woman myself. my husband and I went to the mercantile and was very disappointed on her selection of Pioneer Woman products. you can find more at Walmart. the food was excellent though.
Have you seen or bought any new pioneer woman stuff, like the spice rack, etc. I also seen a floral utensil one that is a bit smaller. I have her floral Dutch oven, she even has a instant pot. No offense, but Bradley looks like my when he was in high school.
You are just fine washing cast iron. You can use soap and water. You just need to dry them right away and avoid letting them soak or they will rust. If they rust, just get a steal scrubber and scrub it off. Cooking oil is what is used to season them, and it's oiling them so they don't dry out.
It's not a cup cake stand it is a cheese ball stand but for cup cakes I guess it would be okay. But it is for cheese. Do you also have her dishes? I just found her stuff and I have so much kitchen stuff now I feel guilty to buy more but I LOVE her stuff. LOVE LOVE LOVE it all. Thanks for sharing.

A bandana used solely for wiping out the cast iron is actually better than a paper towel because paper towels leave lint behind 👍🏻😁

seasoned means it is sealed... you must wash it after cooking with warm water and a brush... then DRY it right away and with a paper towel or rag put light coating of olive oil all all over it ..and put it away...do this every time you cook...i always use a bit of oil or butter when i cook...

I think her things are pretty, but my husband and I have built a huge collection of Pfaltzgraff Folk Art over a period of thirty years. It cost a fortune but it was worth it because we love it and bought most of ours while it was still made in the US. You got in on the beginning of the PW collection, so someday, you'll have an awesome collection.

I got a couple of her table cloths and made curtains out of them for my kitchen :) I'm obsessed with the pioneer woman line and always wished that she did curtains as well and then I had an epiphany lol
My mom has a old Dutch oven cast iron skillet and you need to grease it up with oil every time after you wash it or it will rust.

Once you start cooking with cast iron, you'll never want to go back! I love to use mine for any type of meat (think chicken breasts or pork chops) because you can brown the outside, and then put it in the oven at 350 to finish cooking it all the way through. It makes the meat really juicy and delicious!

Ive been getting a lot of Pioneer woman stuff on clearance or on sale. I have the pioneer woman serving bowls but they are plastic and have lids. I love them and they were only $14! I wish I could find that loaf pan. Ive been looking and looking.

You are just fine washing cast iron. You can use soap and water. You just need to dry them right away and avoid letting them soak or they will rust. If they rust, just get a steal scrubber and scrub it off. Cooking oil is what is used to season them, and it's oiling them so they don't dry out.
It's not a cup cake stand it is a cheese ball stand but for cup cakes I guess it would be okay. But it is for cheese. Do you also have her dishes? I just found her stuff and I have so much kitchen stuff now I feel guilty to buy more but I LOVE her stuff. LOVE LOVE LOVE it all. Thanks for sharing.
