2013 SL550 AMSOIL Engine Flush Oil Change + Pi Cleaner

- This is the very first thing I did to my 2013 Mercedes SL550 as soon as I got it back to Las Vegas.
I recommend doing a AMSOIL oil change engine flush and PI performance improver fuel additive that cleans the valves injectors and carbon deposits inside the combustion chamber to help from pre-ignition.
So far I have noticed a difference in smoothness in the motor and I noticed the exhaust sounds a little deeper and it feels like it has more compression and better engine braking. This car held 9 quarts of 5W-40 European classic Amsoil 100% synthetic.

In the high heat like in Florida or Texas or Nevada I would run the 5W-40 That's what I put in my car if you live in somewhere like Washington State or Canada or New York City I would definitely run the 0W-40

I would also add AMSOIL Dominator or Boostane Premium (octane boosters) during the summer months as well, especially with Nevada selling 91 octane. It will help with knock and give better fuel economy. You will have to change spark plugs more frequently though.
25.5 mpg with 91 octane, 27 if one bottle of dominator is added.
I use Amsoil in my 2016 BMW S1000 motorcycle. I found it allows the transmission to shift much smoother, no more clunkiness. Also it seems to run cooler in traffic as well. Also use Amsoil in my 2010 YZF450R motocross motorcycle. It runs so well using Amsoil . I change that oil after every two rides, about and hour and a half each, and it comes out almost as clean as new. Amazing oil, highly recommended.

Since the filter is up top, I’d suction the oil out and wouldn’t even have to get under the car. That’s what I do with my VWs…but great video and way to showcase the Amsoil products.

Oh yeah definitely it has made a huge difference already in the way the car drives I think it's already getting about 30 highway miles a gallon which is up from about 25 and a half miles a gallon.
It's going to be awesome to see the final numbers once I get all the fluids changed 😃

Yeah if I got another sports car it would be a 2013 60th anniversary base model manual Corvette.
I would put the Bill Stein shocks I had on my C5 Corvette and I would do the Hotchkiss sway bars.
I would probably also do borla cat-back exhaust a air aid cold air intake MSD spark plug wires.
That's where I would start if I was happy with that I would stay with it.
Also I would do the Toyo proxy sport tires.
If I wanted a little bit more power all I would do is a GM hot cam and full long tube headers.
It's amazing how well-balanced the C6 Corvette is especially the base model

I would want any C6 2009 or newer with the Z51 option. Same Borla exhaust, like I had on my past 1989 C4.Also Z06 shocks and the same Hotchkiss swaybars. Then a MDS short throw shifter. Michelin Pilitsports, everything else stock.

Eben, the hood will go vertical. Press in the tabs on the hydraulic struts for the hood, lower the hood slightly and push up past the tabs to become vertical.

Also, if you take 9 quarts of oil, buy gallon jugs by the case (units of 4) and some top up quarts to keep the oil as cheap as possible.
You can use half of the case (2 gallons = 8 quarts) and a top up quart to cover 2 oil changes. It's not just for UCL.

I think the gallon saves about $0.50 per 4 quarts so that's over a dollar if you buy the case you would save probably a few dollars.
@@Syntheticoilprotection Yeah the PC pricing I am seeing shows $7.39 for a single quart but $110.50 for a case of 4 gallons (16 quarts), so it dips to about $6.91.
Plus, if you can pull it off, you can get much longer pours.

Great question You're going to go into the one menu and then you're going to hold down a series of buttons and then it'll say reset.
I found a video on RUclips where the guy was resetting it.
It's fairly easy it's just a really strange process when she get used to it.

It was a for-owner car.
The exterior condition is about a 7.9 on a skill and 1 to 10 in the interior is about a 9.6 out of 10.
Overall I give the car an 8.11 out of 10 at the moment once I get done with it I think it's going to be a 9 out of 10 or higher.

Amsoil is great oil but it went up like gold I’m going back to vavoline $23 at Walmart you can’t beat that plus wix filter $8 total comes out to $32
A lot of people look at the upfront cost on vehicles and that's usually the wrong place to look.
If you look at vehicles over a 10-year spread they can really change shape.
I always like to look at it in the long run and Amsoil saves the most by protecting your motor with a more complete film strength you'll have less wear and the Pistons cams you'll hold your compression better and there is less parasitic drag on the components in your motor so you not only that you get better fuel mileage and compression because of the 100% synthetic film strength.
Definitely consider the long-term and you'll always be in the green and happy.

Eben I had done amsoil flush and engine oil change but I had done an extra drain with cheap super tech advanced full synthetic right after the flush with a new super tech filter. I ran 5 qts super tech and drove 30 minutes and drained it again before I putted amsoil in. Because I have noticed that flush make oil thin and drained my old oil like charm. I just didn't want leave any of em flush chemicals in my engine before I putted in fresh amsoil in. I did it with 2 of my cars and one of my neighbor's Toyota Camry. After that my neighbor said he can't even realize his car is going when it's ideal. I saw it was only 500 rpm at ideal. I think we all should do an extra flush with some cheap fresh oil after the amsoil flush?? Thank you in advance
😃👍🪙, Thanks for the feedback and the extra flush with new oil is not necessary All you do is just put the engine flush in your old oil in idle the motor for 15 minutes and then drain the oil.
You hit that bottle so fast the sound came first 😂 Are you practicing for the Guinness of tallest pours? I didn't know the 550 was so quiet. You gotta install something or remove some mufflers so it roaaars to life like the AMGs! Still, on the road, it picks up RPM so fast, it's like it doesn't have accessories or a car to move, and it sounds great. I'm looking forward to the next videos on AIRMATIC suspensions and other fragile bits for when I'll buy my E550. I'm also interested in knowing how long the silicone spray keeps its aspect on the plastics.

I had a friend here in town let me drive his 2013 SL550 and he warned me he said it's a little quicker than you think and I thought it was going to be slow and I was really surprised at the acceleration.
In real-world driving I would say that is the second fastest front engine car I've ever driven on the street The only one that I've driven that was quicker was a 2014 Shelby GT500 and that had catalytes in a cold air intake and that motor is probably around 714 crank horsepower

Hey! I was just wondering if you could answer this question that I have. So I wanted to use Amsoil Engine Flush but my oil level reads up to the second notch on the dipstick. Is it safe to add the Flush even though the oil level is full? Would it be overfilling the engine if I add the flush to it? Thanks a bunch! Really enjoy your helpful and informative videos!

How often should you use the engine flush solvent? Ex: every 10k mi?
I use it whenever I feel it's necessary.
If a motor seems like it has some build up in it I'll use it if it's a brand new car and I don't think there's anything in it I won't use it.
On diesel motors I use it every single time because diesel has a lot of soot and also most diesels have turbos and a lot of carbon builds up in the oil screen so it's very important to flush a diesel motor.
A gas motor especially a turbo gas motor is still very important to flush.
The other benefit is it gets all the carbon out before you put the new Amsoil 100% synthetic in that way you don't have a bunch of carbon buildup go into your new oil filter because the detergents in the AMS oil will break down the carbon and dissolve a lot of that oil and all that buildup will end up in the new oil filter So instead of changing new oil oil filter at 2 or 3,000 mi it's nice you can get most of it out before then.
That's why I like the engine flush also it cleans your timing chain oil cooler ports and it also gets build up that wouldn't come out at the bottom of the oil pan because the oil's too thick at the end of an oil change.
It really helps thin out the oil.

Most likely I will run it 10,000 mi.
I will keep an eye on it and check it every month and make sure it's looking good I will also come back and do an oil filter change and probably a thousand miles or sooner depending on what the oil looks like to make sure I got all the gunk and build up out of it and to make sure the oil filters flowing really good.
I will definitely do oil analysis whenever I do change it 😉
I'll also share a video with the channel showing the results.
At 01:37 that chain looked very dry even with the previous oil still in the sump, what was the previous oil used in it? Looked like a new motorcycle chain that hasn’t been lubed up yet.
It was OEM Mercedes oil.
The car has always been maintained by the dealer and it was Mercedes certified when the last owner bought it 2,000 mi ago

Oh yeah that motor is so quiet it's actually a little quieter than a Tesla.
Once I get the new tire and wheel package this car is going to be about 20% quieter than a P100D Tesla
