It doesn’t matter about their discography, it matters about the impact and Miley Cyrus was the FACE of Disney and before her it was Raven. It could’ve been Selena but she was overpowered by Miley because she can sing and Hannah Montana was a more marketable show. Also Lizzie McGuire is the blue print, she started the whole girl sitcom shows, so don’t play her.

I was thinking about that. Well that and when it was a day before Disney X launched there were old Disney shows trending like Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles, Even Stevens and Lizzy McGuire. I would also add that perhaps Lizzy McGuire's impact was slightly less because there were still other decent shows on there. The quality started to drop considerably as it got closer to 2010.

I think Hilary Duff is queen of the early era. Then Raven kinda came in and stole the show for a while. Then Disney was all about Miley when Hannah Montana came out and they tried to recreate that with Demi, Selena, Debby Ryan, Bridgit Mendler, etc.

it didn't help that the script of her show was awful. not to mention she had so many issues behind the scenes that could have impacted her career as well.
Sonny with a chance SHOULDVE BEEN as good and as big as wizards of waverly place but the writing was all over the place and just a hotmess and no character growth at all. And then they tried to make “so random” an actual thing and the worked out about was well as making “fetch” happen 🤷🏽♀️

Demi had a lot of appeal I liked her growing up but Miley and Selena were easily overpowering her as a whole Miley has been established since 06 and while Demi had camp rock and her own show where was the all American girl image that helped the others become a household name

1. She set the 4 season rule (Used to be three)
2. First show to have over 100 episodes on the network
3.High rated show of it's time (now it's Hannah Montana)
4.The first Disney show to have a spin-off
5.Lead the actress to go beyond That so raven and everything she touched was gold. (Cheetah Girls, Kim Possible, Tinker bell, College road Trip, Proud Family, Gardens of the Galaxy TV series, etc)
6. She get paid of the title of the show
What make's Raven Symoné the Queen of Disney is how versatile she was beyond her show success(Referring only to Disney related content). She still have influence in Disney today. Not to mention stars like Brenda Songs and David Henrie appeared in That So Raven way before they made a name for themselves in other Disney shows. Which only speaks to how much impact That So Raven had.

PERIOD! She literally has TWO spin off shows, she was a featured voice actor in different Disney and Disney Junior shows, was the first black girl with her own lead show, the first sitcom ever done on the network, the first to sell over $1 million in revenue when the TSR brand released and more. I’m biased as a hardcore Raver but still facts are facts and give credit where it’s due. Hilary doesn’t earn “queen” status just because she came first, Queen status is about the work put in and out, Raven WORKED and walked so everybody could run. She also executive produced the final season of That’s So Raven and College Road Trip. This girl has no idea what she’s talking about. Nobody does when it comes to this “queen” thing considering they don’t factor in Raven’s longevity and revenue with the Disney company.
Actually That's So Raven went up to exactly 100 episodes, not over. But regardless, it is their first show to do more than 65 episodes (which was their policy at the time)

That's So Raven was really popular and broke the 65 episode rule that caused the cancellation of shows like Lizzie McGuire.
Hilary Duff set the standard
Hilary Duff, her show was groundbreaking for the Disney Channel network and future shows would revolve on recreated that. She was the first to break out into the music scene and movie scene and make a successful career out of it. The Lizzie McGuire movie alone inspired the Hannah Montana series. I think Miley comes close but Hilary paved all the ground work. Raven Symone’s solo music career failed so she was on a total different path.

While I never was a huge fan of Hilary Duff as an actor, I did like the show as a whole and agree that it was groundbreaking. The success of Lizzie McGuire was _the_ turning point for Disney Channel; it was the blueprint for all the girl-centric sitcoms that came after. That's probably why people my age are saying Hilary is queen.
If we're going off talent alone, however, Raven Symone has Hilary Duff beat by a mile. Probably Miley Cyrus too, Idk. By the time Hannah Montana came on I wasn't tuning in to Disney Channel much anymore, except to watch Raven and Kim Possible.

After you said you were born in 2000, it's a little more understandable why you were confused about Hilary Duff being an option for the Queen of Disney Channel. Her reign on Disney Channel was from 2001-2004, so you might've been too young to witness how much of an impact she made on Disney Channel or how she (and Raven) were the "face" of Disney Channel and tween girldom. However, I do agree with you that Raven had the larger and longer lasting impact on Disney Channel, thus that's why she's the queen, then Miley followed right after.

Agreed. Hilary Duff is what STARTED this whole discussion of “Disney Channel Queen”. She ran the channel up until 2004 when the show ended. She still had her music being played on that channel (I think I remember her song “Wake Up” being played on there a few times) a year AFTER she left. Although I do agree Raven is the Disney Channel Queen overall, Hilary is where it all started.
Maybe Tini Stoessel and Karol Sevilla who appeared in Violetta and Soy Luna. They were huge in Latin America and Europe and have more fans on social media than most of the main actresses that worked on the American branch of Disney Channel. Violetta started in 2012, basically a year after Hannah Montana and Soy Luna started after Violetta ended (2015) in 2016. The respective cast toured through Latin America and Europe and some episodes of Violetta were even recorded in Spain. They also had a movie that played in Italy. Both shows are on Disney+, but only Violetta received an actual dub. The show also reminds me of Hannah Montana, but the epsiodes on there are way longer.
The only Disney Queen I recognise is Brenda Song, First of Her Name.
Now I was born in 2005 so I came real late, but imo I think who came after was between Olivia Holt and China Anne McClain. Although I do think Brenda was one of the OG queens but I didn't really know about her until Disney went through it's occasional phase of playing older movies-

I agree with some of your points. I believe that since Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place aired at the same time, they both can't be supremes. I agree that Miley Cyrus dominated during her time and was a much bigger influence than Selena Gomez. I was definitely apart of the alternative crowd that Selena Gomez was targeted too, but I still knew Miley was the supreme (even though I enjoyed watching WWP more). I have to disagree with you about Lizzie McGuire though and I think that's just due to your age. If you were born in 2000, Lizzie McGuire aired between 2001-2004 so you were less than 4 years old. I was born in 1994, so she definitely had a huge impact and influence on Millenials. I think if you ask people born in the late 80's to early 90's they'll say she was definitely the queen during her time. Also, Lizzie McGuire started the whole teen girl sitcom (on disney) so we have to give her credit for that. I don't think the other women would have been as successful if we didn't have LM first. But yes, Raven was also the supreme during her time and she was definitely taking the thrown as Lizzie McGuire ended and that's probably why it didn't get any more seasons. So ultimately it has to do with the time period. It's hard to compare when they weren't all on television at the same time.

Hilary's there because of the impact that she has, Lizzie McGuire was a phenomenon and the merch of that show was still selling ten year after the show ended, she even got a movie that premiered on cinemas and her album Metamorphosis is one of the best selling of Disney. She got a lot of opportunities but she decided to expand he career besides Disney and she succeed. I'm not attacking you but girl, do your research, you can't just ignore the generation behind you and make your opinion count as “facts”.

Raven Symone was just revealed as The Black Widow in The Masked Singer, and she was also in the musical adaptation of Sister Act on Broadway. I feel like Raven was better at Ballads, she just wasn’t pushed like the other actresses for albums and concert tours.

Watching this I can kind of tell what era you grew up in for the most part, not only did I grow up with Lizzie McGuire but I had 3 older sisters who had been watching Disney for 8+ years longer than I had so they definitely had an impact on what shows and what music I knew, I think if you grew up in the time that Hilary and Raven were starting to get older and kind of migrate from Disney into growing up and Miley, Selena, Demi, Ashley, and Brenda were starting to take over because Disney needed new marketable girls to be the face of Disney then you are going to think that's where it all started, but lets be real, Hilary, Raven, and Christy Carlson Romano were the queens who started this whole thing.

After the success of Lizzie McGuire and the Lizzie McGuire movie, Disney signed her to their label (Hollywood records) which was struggling at the time and was saved by her debut album Metamorphosis (which was certified triple Platinum). After that, she was everywhere: movies, music videos, magazine covers, merchandise, tv shows, commercials, etc. You may not know because you were born in the 2000s, but she was. She was THE teen idol back then.
If we're talking music careers, I don't think Ashley Tisdale can even compare to her (who I also like, don't get me wrong); Hilary has had 5 studio albums (6 if you count her Christmas album) and has sold over 15 million records.
