I love the body style of the old 57 Caddy and you did a nice job with what comes in the box. I see this kit and the old Chryler 300 at the hobby shop every time I go there.
Thanks for the heads up John. I think this came out looking good. IDK if I will try that but it would be a practice session in puttying. That year the automakers came out with some awesome cars.
where did my previous comment go? I'll re-post here. This kit can be built without gaps, it requires more than usual patience but it can be done. Following the direction sheet can cause some issues. I just purchased my own kit to build. I had been hesitant after watching some channels, but Grandpa Mark's channel showed how it needs to be done.
Get yourself the Revell/Monogram ‘59 Caddy, if you want a nice Cadillac kit. What’s that color, periwinkle? It looks great. I think I saw a video of a guy that built this like an airplane: build up the interior, put the body together around it, mask it, mud it, sand it, mud it, sand it, paint it, etc. He may even have found a way to get the interior into it after painting. And don’t give up on Atlantis! Grab a Mooneyes dragster or an old Tom Daniels kit. Nice job on this, given what it is.
When you are right David, you are right. I will get one of your recommendations and give it a try. I should not let first impressions determine my opinion. If others did that, I would not even be posting after some of my bombs. Lol. Thanks
In the end it was an experience. The kit is knocking on the door of 70yrs old, same as the subject car. Would be like comparing the rear cars from then and today. Although the 57 is beautiful, also doesn't stand up to todays standards of engineering, manufacturing and fit and finish.
Your windshield is upside down thus the fit hard kit to build. Go to grandpa marks hobbies, he just finished a revell version, also gives good tips instructions don't cover.🤔

My wife picked this kit for me and I was looking forward to a nice build. Maybe it is just the Eldorado kit that sucks.
It's an OLD multi-piece body Revell tool. You did a nice job on yours. I like the blue. Thanks for sharing
That is a very tricky kit to build, thanks for the advice, I would be avoiding it but good to see you persevered and got it done.
It's a really old tooling, you did a nice job John, tough kit
Nice job on an old crap kit. Love the colors.👍
Thank you
It is a re-pop of a Revell kit from ‘58 or ‘59. It is definitely an exercise in frustration. You did your best. Thanks for sharing.
thanks Michael

I agree. I think the 40s and 50s were classy, the 60s and 70s were sexy as hell.

I knew someone could do it. I guess building this kit is like fishing, you need lot’s of patience. Thanks for your advice
@@kingranch1962 patience yes, and sometimes someone else finds the secrets for you to hook the fish. 😃
Grandpa Mark showed me some good tricks.
Built this kit & had the same issues in those areas. Your's looks good. I like the color scheme you went with.
Thanks

Looks good to me..
Yeah its and old kit, and we do the best to mKe them look good.

What a shame. It looks like a great car to build. Great subject matter. Too bad it doesn’t fit well

So I thought, but the windshield has a tab on the bottom that firs into a slot on the body. I tried it both ways and the way I have it worked best.

If you go to Grandpa marks hobbies and look at his windshield (sideview) I noticed the difference. 😃
I will go check out his video. Thanks for the suggestion
Don't git too discouraged... this is a re-pop of a old Revell kit from late 50s early 60s as most of Atlantis kits 👌 👍👍🚛🚙🚘🛵🛻🚗🚚👍🙏
