1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham- A subject that truly deserves an all-new tool/kit offering. It's a shame this is the only offering of this truly iconic car.
I agree 100%. Unfortunately, I don't know that there is a big enough market for it to justify the money it would take to retool this kit. Some folks prefer nothing but muscle cars if my analytics are an indicator. It would be great to see this in a more traditional style body complete with the engine, etc.
Thanks! I can't wait to build it. I have a few builds ahead of it right now, so it may take a little bit before this appears on the channel. It's coming!
Nice unboxing. The way that kit was engineered is definitely interesting. Like you, I have never seen a five part body and one of the parts is not a hood. It does look like a good design because the assembly seams of the body are is good places. It will be great to see you build this one. Thanks for sharing.
I'll be watching the progress on this. You and I chatted about the skill level this requires, getting it all to fit correctly, and I hope it turns out the way you want. Kinda annoying the way Amazon handled your box. I use those for storage, not enough shelf space to display everything. I wouldn't like seeing that box every time I go to pull something out. Good luck!
Thanks Ray! I was a bit shocked when I picked it up from the porch. I was half laughing at what I was looking at and half peeved that it was sent to me like that. As for the box, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it when I'm done building this. It's ugly and bent up and not a good candidate for display. I can't wait to see this car on the opposite end of the build. I can picture it but it is more satisfying to be able to hold it in my hands.
I wish some day that kit will be reissue because there is a story behind that kit and why some details of the model are not very accurate with the real one. New subs and hope follow your videos of this Cadillac by Atlantis
Is a shame they would ship this that way Kevin. Glad that nothing was damaged tho. This kind of kit is going to take some old school skill and experience to make this build look right and a lot of filling and sanding. Will be watching to see how it turns out. Have a great week ahead buddy. Terry
Thanks Terry! I was actually surprised when I opened the box and found that everything inside was not damaged. This build will test my skills but I don't believe that it will defeat me. It's not the most difficult kit that I have ever built. It's now in the pipeline to be put together and I will get the video out as soon as possible.
I don't know what they difference is but Revell released this as a 58 Eldorado and the Atlantis release calls it a 57 Eldorado. I have the Revell version, not started, that I bought maybe three or four years ago. Take care.
Funny that you should mention that. I actually did lay down two coats of white primer but it didn't produce the shade of pink that I was looking for. This kit has been in limbo for quite some time now. I really should get this finished someday soon.
@@scaleautoguysworkbench I keep saying that myself..."I should finish this kit". :D I like how the figures look like my Mom and Dad on their wedding day in 1959.
@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage Yeah, those figures kind of weird me out a bit... Right now, I have like four or five kits to finish that have been put on the back burner for various reasons. If I had those finished I would be way ahead of the game on video releases, but I'm living video to video...
This is too nice of a car in real life to get the Atlantis "vintage 60s model kit" treatment. Revell needed to remake all the tooling to create a proper model kit, showcasing the stainless steel roof, suicide doors and reverse clamshell hood opening, showing a fully detailed 365 V8 that you build with full detail, air suspension, and aluminum wheels. This screams cheap and uninteresting. The 1957 Eldorado Brougham is far too nice and too much of a historic, classic car to just get the curbside el cheapo treatment!
I agree! From my research this kit was made from the original 1957 mold. I guess that's the way that they were built back then (a few years ahead of my time). I'm not sure what I am going to do with this kit yet. I wasn't really ready for the multi piece body but one way or another, I'm going to build it.
Great car to build Pink! 👍👍
Thank You! I thought that it would be! Stay tuned this will be coming soon!

My favorite Caddy and it will look great in pink.
I got a Monogram 59 Eldorado convertible that will be my pink Cadillac haha
I was actually looking for a 59 when I found this. The price was great, the shipping not so much...
Nice Video

This is definitely going to be an interesting build for sure. I, myself, can't wait for the outcome...

@@scaleautoguysworkbench frame the box art, and display it somewhere, I suggest.

This one may take a little bit to get it right. Although there isn't a high part count the body is what will be the biggest challenge.
Interesting kit, I've never seen a kit with a body like that. , you've been subbed. Looking forward to going through your other videos
Thanks for the sub! My channel is fairly new so I don't currently have a bunch of videos up yet but I'm working on it.

The box is just as important to me as the kit. That's a return, refund and try again, just on principal. Especially from Amazon!
I don't usually display the box art but I do keep the boxes fro various reasons. So, in this case, what was inside was more important to me.
The box art looks like the car has a flat! Gotta scope out the updates on this one.
It does kind of look like that doesn't it... This build is still in progress and will be featured on the channel soon. Thanks for watching.

I haven't seen the Revell version at all. Does it come in a two piece body like the Atlantis kit? It may be two different kits altogether.
@@scaleautoguysworkbench
Google "Revell 58 Eldora".
It's like the third hit down.
I'm pretty sure it's the same kit. The box art has it in black.
It`s the SAME model as the Atlantis.@@scaleautoguysworkbench
Carefully slicing open a damaged box, lol. I just got this kit also but haven't opened it yet.
I have started this kit but it is still only about 50% complete. I have to get it finished up soon! Good luck with yours and thanks for watching!
All you need to do is paint it white and the red plastic will bleed through and turn it pink! :D

Atlantis's 56 Eldorado 1/32 kit isn't has bad as that one.
I haven't seen that one yet. This on is at the half way mark on getting finished. I have set it aside for a while now. I really need to finish it...
