Ivey turned the tables on the casinos, did what they do to 99.9999999999% of gamblers: use their weaknesses against them, altered procedures for an edge, and brought his own security. More power to him!!
Great comment! The house rules here were about playing a fair game. The courts ruled that edge sorting crossed the line, even though the casino agreed to Ivey’s specific requests at the time. It’s a gray area, but one the casino argued was against the game’s integrity
They agreed under false premises. They did not know the cards were marked, he did. That's cheating. If you agree to use my cards at a poker game and I can see their marked is that cheating? Yes... very much so
Casinos that refuse to payout winnings no matter the reasons should have their gaming license revoked. If you believe a customer didn't win their earnings on the up and up they should still be paid and settle it in court. Casinos do shady shit all the time do customers have the option to not pay the casino if they lose?
peaking at someone who's not protecting their cards is not cheating, I've played with people who literally pick up their cards and look at them, protect your hand is the rule.
D. Neg's says Ivey didn't cheat . The big casinos prey up on high value clients and they gave him the opportunity to play under the agreed upon rules.. it's not iveys fault cards are cut weird and he found the secret... Casino owes him
I don’t doubt that Robbie Lui cheated. In fact, based on the many STRANGE events it’s likely she/they did. My problem is this - ok, most criminals aren’t very bright, but why would you coordinate with an employee, have a vibtr up your yahoo, or anything else, just to splooge the chips when your actually behind? Then run it twice? I know she has the high card Jack, but that’s a horrible all-in situation.
@AcesFullPoker I mean, I would quickly cut out that last sentence. There are a shit ton of examples on this very site of people in the UK pronouncing his name correctly dated well before this travesty. Just grow up and own it instead of trying to make excuses, that are also both incorrect and obnoxiously idiotic. I mean it is a name, pronunciation for a proper name is not up for debate. Oh we say it this way over here, no. This is how it is said, go back to school.
in the late 70,s i could find the Ace of spades in any deck of Bycyle cards, it was shown to me by a guy on board my ship when i was a sailor,, there was the slightest imperfection on the back .
You forgot to comment that Garret was with that face because of what Robbie said after winning the hand, that she was gonna call even if a J would come up, bruh she had a J tf :)
Clowns..... the casino agreed to use a certain deck of cards that were marked. the casino did not know the cards were marked and he did..... that's cheating. Not really that hard to understand. If you ageee to use my cards at a poker game and their marked is that cheating?
@AcesFullPoker So with your logic if person A goes to a poker game and says hey lets play with these cards and everyone agrees and the cards were marked and person A knew and won all the money. Nobody got cheated ? Interesting logic you have.
The backs of the cards were off center. By rotating only certain cards, an observer could tell from the backs of the cards whether it was one of the rotated cards or not. He manipulated them into placing the cards in the discard stack a certain way. After going through the shoe the first time, only certain cards (probably the nines and eights) were rotated. He then got them to shuffle the cards without rotating the cards in the process. The top card in the shoe is dealt to the first player, so Ivey sat in the first seat (In practice, he probably got them to agree to playing alone). His accomplice probably sat right next to the show to see the top card better). If the top card is a nine or eight, the likelihood of being dealt a natural is very good, much higher than random. If dealt a nine, any ten or nine gives the player a total of nine or eight (a natural). That would be nineteen out of fifty-one cards. The same if an eight is on top. Any ten or ace gives the player a total of nine or eight. That's 20/51 cards. Actually is a little better than that, as several decks are used. So how did he take advantage of that? By betting very large when an eight or nine is on top, much lower otherwise. Similar to how card counters in blackjack play, betting larger when the shoe favors them. Ivey then had to get the dealer to continue putting the cards in the discard tray a certain way to ensure the nines and eights continued to be faced differently than the other cards. Gamblers do all kinds of crazy stuff thinking it helps them win. The casinos don't care because they know it doesn't change anything, or so they think. And casinos are more than happy to accommodate them if they're big bettors. Ivey probably pretended to be superstitious and the casinos foolishly believed. He might have also gotten them to agree to pay back a percentage of his losses, should he have lost.
Ridiculous. He recieved close to 30 million in loans he never had to pay back from Full Tilt to finance all his playing. The game much easier when you freerolling.
Ivey did not cheat and the casino owes him.
Fully agree. Just playing exploitatively against the casino
I disagree, ivy knew the cards were identifiable and he used another player to help. 100% cheating
@@letsgobrandon6281 The casino employed the poorly manufactured cards and it is their responsibility to avoid edge recognition. They had every opportunity to deny any of his requests.

Yeah it’s a shame casinos were able to actually do what they did with the courts to get their money back. Like it’s fair game really
@AcesFullPoker I agree wholeheartedly, and I wonder how much the judges got for their ruling.
Mike "I dont know why I raised pre-flop.I was really drunk off wine that night." Postle
9:30 "by Ivey wasn't playing by the house rules" -... Elaborate please... Everything he did was agreed to by the casino.

I don't like Ivey being on this list. What he did was not cheating.
Knowing what the cards are isn't cheating?
You gotta love mike postle
In what world? The casino has an edge on every bet made....is that cheating? No, so how is having an edge, that the casino agreed to, cheating?
if you ddnt say phil cheated which he ddnt you would get a lot more respect for basically regurgitating what others have already commented on
My personal opinion doesn’t change the courts ruling though
Thumbs down for Ivey being on the list
The court literally ruled against him 😂 I didn’t rule him guilty
@AcesFullPoker The court ruled OJ didn't do it but we all know....
How did Ivey and Sun cheat???? A casino can have an edge but the players can't?
The collusion guy’s should’ve gone head to head on that one hand and kept the bets conservative.
Yeah that would have been a good way to try and cover the technique up

Robbi somehow read his bluff. She took a "gamble" and bluffed a bluff. Stupid but it worked.
Casinos violate fair play! Card counting is grounds for being banned.

I think the first instance you tell them, then if they continue to do it its on them. At the end of the day we still want a fair game

Good thing you're not a judge or on a jury....
Just a tip, saying mike postle name correctly would earn a like.
Thanks Jay this AI voiceover couldn't quite get his name right. Hope you still managed to enjoy the video though.
If you turn on the TV people will watch
Protect your cards do not let people take advantage of you because you don't protect your cards
Robbi 100000% cheated

Mike Postal, lol. And you even referred to him as the Apostle and still didn't realize how to pronounce his name.
Ill be honest with you, the AI voice over we use struggled to get his name right on this one. But in the UK we would pronounce it that way around

Mike Postle is lucky to be alive IMHO, what he did was so blatant and obvious.
You think he deserved a far worse punishment then? His reputation being shredded is definitely a lot

That's cheating..... just like Phil
Mike postal lmao... anyways cant believe the commentators gave mike so much praise
If you aren’t protecting your hole cards that is on you
Spying on hands isnt cheating "protect your cards" its called playing close to the Vest.

Which one has 0 proof Jack?
Postle repeatedly rubbing a card over the reader (unprompted) when he noticed it hadn't picked up one of his cards should have been a tell...
Also realllyyyyy fkin dumb from him when hes on a live streamed game hahaha
Ivey didn't cheat. He exploited an advantage.
Exactly I agree but you cant argue with the final ruling of the courts
