+Norfeldt what you are seeing is the autoscaling/image enhancement at work on the T1K. The uncooled camera is midwave and also higher sensitivity so you don't see the image change. The scale also may have been locked on the cooled - we can certainly check into that. However, it was done side by side.
I prefer uncooled for my application due to the more natural motion blur. Cooled cameras will reach me one day.
why do the background change in the uncooled footage?
There is no background change - both were filmed simultaneously.
