How are the haptics on this phone? Motorola used to have the best battery life optimization of any smartphone but now it seems they’re not doing as well in that department. Idk why batteries aren’t as good despite being the same size for years. Motorola also needs to support their phones much longer on software updates, it can’t be that hard to support your phones. Great review, RJ!
The haptics are actually pretty good, especially for a plastic phone. The battery lasts me 15 to 18 hours with heavy use. Software updates I think meant more 2 to 3 years ago when there were big upgrades to the O.S., these days very little changes from O.S. to O.S.. Security patches probably mean more than anything.
You've earned a new subscriber. I seriously like your style & and vibe, bro. I dont know if you ever do any revisiting Videos, if so, can you do the s22U in 2024? Thanks 😊
Having had three Moto G phones I can tell you that Moto likes to wait to put security updates out about a week before major Google, Samsung, and Apple events. Expect a security update in August.
Originally bought my phone with April 1, 2024 security patch and just got one tonight to June 1, 2024 but that is it. I am using it on Verizon postpaid.
Question: my 90 yr old mom has ZOMBIE FINGER…whenever she touches a touch screen nothing happens. She uses a stylus on her iPhone with limited success. But her iPhone doesn’t come WITH a stylus…so maybe this could be a good alternative to her iPhone. She’s constantly fighting her phone and is overwhelmed with the technology. 😖
@@redsonya1959 zombie fingers? Likely weak wrist strength or poor joint health, the older you get, typically the weaker, if she's too weak to press hard enough to register on the phone and with a stylus she needs to see a chiropractor or someone else qualified because it can be miserable being too weak to press a button/screen.
Hey RJ, Walmart has the Moto G Power 5g 2024 for $39.88 and the Samsung Galaxy A25 5g for $79.88 right not for Black Friday on Straight Talk Wireless, do you think any of these two phones a buy? Please let me know, thanks in advance.
Okay so I did my tests I went to best buy and looked at the unlocked version and saw that the update is by monthly. I asked a customer representative at Motorola and because it's a TracFone version it may or may not get an update. I promise you I will get my phone's from best buy or from the manufacturer. I can tell you that on US Mobile website when you buy a phone it's straight from the manufacturer's website. Not a TracFone or Metro or Cricket or Bobs N Company.
Great review. I think I'm done with moto though. Picked up 2 Moto g stylus 5g 2023 back in January. The phone became extremely glitchy. After researching, i found out that both phones are behind on updates. Neither had updated since we got them. 3 security patches. When i check for updates it says up to date. Moto offers a flash utility that may fix it. 4 years ago i had a moto and it was problematic as well. Probably going back to Samsung or may give iPhone a chance. Thanks for the review.
I think Moto is all flash initially then gives zero shit about what happens after. I tried my friend's Moto G stylus 2024 and it just feels off, like the fonts are excessively big, colored bubbles and the stylus is just a fidget toy for adults. I couldn't take the phone too seriously, it just didn't sit right with me. Top it off, my friend had it for a week, no case and already the back has a micro tear in it. Without a case, the back of this will rip, fade or crack over time and people will get real pissed about it. They should have put a glass, metal or at least plastic backing without the in-inscreen fingerprint sensor as well. Those are atrocious on their own. Rear or side-mounted fingerprint sensors are so much faster - Redmi note 9 is insane, barely touch it and it unlocks.. Rant over haha sorry man.
The fingerprint sensor is garbage, no offense to your wife. Fingerprint sensors should have stopped at the side mounted ones or the rear ones, NOT in -screen. They're so much slower, go to a store find a side mount or rear sensor and try it out, you'll hate the in-screen immediately. lol I returned the stylus G also because of the "leather" backing. In no time that thing will wear out, fade, crack, etc, just like any other leather. Leather is the worst product ever, it's dead skin, it's garbage. We make synthetic materials that are infinitely better, they should have made this with a plastic, glass or metal backing then it would have been better. My friend already got a micro tear with his backing near the camera module where it meets at the top edging of the camera. Once you put a case on this thing, it becomes a massive brick. No idea what Motorola was thinking, but they did screw it up in a few places for sure. It's just an expensive fidget toy at this point.
@@CinHalCedHerChance so we've had all the previous stylus devices before the 2024 and the side mounted fingerprint sensor was so unreliable due to its small and narrow button positioning. When the moved to on screen fingerprint it went so much better. She loves it and I have it on my moto edge 2024 and I love it.
@@The812Dad Hey fair enough. but the 3 people that tried it, absolutely did not like it. I'll have to look and compare the size of the button to the RealMe 9 Pro, that was BLAZING fast, I prefered the back, coming from a Redmi Note 9 - TRUST ME, try that one, you will swear everything off on it, it's such a beautiful experience. The side mounted experience was great, zero problems, but I have slim to normal fingers, nothing in excess. Not implying you do, but maybe that was a factor? Physical (side-mount) and optical (rear mounted) sensors are infinitely better and faster than Ultrasonic (in-screen) when you give them and equal test. Get a case for your stylus because that backing will crack and fade in due time and if not, then it will get a tear of some sort sooner rather than later.
@@CinHalCedHerChanceIt's not real leather, it's a composite plastic that is made to feel like leather. More scratch resistant than a shiny plastic. I do have to agree that moto should return to the rear mounted fingerprint scanner.
@@ChrisB-Truth "faux leather" scratch resistant? lol Dude it can LITERALLY rip, go ahead, take a knife to it, let me know if it resists any scratch marks or if it actually cuts open.

I have the last year model on metro and they upgraded the security update may 1st

Which is better Motorola stylus phone 2024 or Motorola power 2024 I am torn between the two phone
the stylus has a more vibrant display with it being OLED and a better processor and the 8gb of ram for enhanced performance behind the processor
