    Marty, you have the best step-by-step lessons on RUclips. You show more of what is actually being played in the song, than anybody else I've seen. Most of them don't show every string played. You show step-by-step, the entire song and you do this as if you were enjoying it. Most others seem like they just punched in on a time clock for work.
    Thanks and keep up the great guitar lessons,
    Sandman368

    really great video Marty. I like that you take it very slow and show how to hit what string. You give me time to look and see what one hand is doing then go back and look at the other. I'm brand new at this. In my 50's and just picked up a real guitar after 5 years of playing Rock Band, I figured i needed to learn the real stuff. Keep up the great work. And thank you!!

    Marty, you're INCREDIBLE! Your lessons are just pure awesomeness. Just after few weeks with my new electric guitar and your guides - I can feel the huge difference. Learning soloes with your movies it's just pleasure. A month ago i wasn't able to play "Happy Birthday", and after just couple weeks I'm ready to play few of my favorite Metallica songs. Please don't stop with your hard work! Best Regards! Mat

    i have been playing guitar for almost 2 years now and found this vid and remembered the last time i had seen it which was 2 years ago when i first started playing guitar and came across to this video, which is actually the reason i love guitar so much, it's because marty's lessons. now i have grown up and looking back to the times when i used marty's videos to learn guitar, i realise how important marty's lessons were to me in my first steps of learning guitar. THANK YOU, MARTY SCHWARZ!

    Marty! Thank you for ALL your work!! I bought a stack of your acoustic DVDs and I can't believe how quickly I have learned to play well. I have to admit, at first I thought it odd that you would use a hollow body for this lesson, but it really serves to reinforce the idea you've mentioned in the past that gear isn't the important thing when you're learning. Solid fundamentals always apply. Thank you for all you have done to make this amazing instrument accessible to so many of us!!! Keep it up!!

    You have to be careful with Martys lessons. He teaches many songs incorrectly. They sound about right but if you search other how to's on you tube or watch the original performer you can see that Marty is playing the song wrong.

      @dazzling3237 11 лет назад +7

      He's also doing most of his lessons for beginners. Beginners aren't going to be able to play note for note with the record. They just want it to sound like the song/basic strums etc.

    The intro doesn't involve the 3rd string , it's the 4th, 5th and 6th strings. 5th fret 4th string being played in place of the 3rd string as stated here by Marty :)

    Hi Marty, thanks for the great lesson(s). I am a guitar beginner since December 2014 and practiced with your lessons,
    I was able even to impress my neighbor with Enter Sandman (hehehe ;-) ).
    Bought your Roch Guitar beginner DVD - great man. I hope some day you'll bring out a DVD with pure Metalica lessons,
    I would surely not be the only one who would buy it - please think about it.

    the thing he said about practicing slowly is very true. Im a beginner and i try it slowly at first then try to do it fast, but first of course i need to memorize the notes
