Hi everyone! Finally got the game! I decided to share all my experience from the game!

They did give an awkward wave with Hop and Leon after the first tournament. Hop and Leon were waving to the crowd like crazy and the protag was like "Ah, shit, we wavin'? K" and did a small wave. At least that's how I interpreted it.

He's the nicest guy. That's why he is the first gymleader. He doesn't take these battles to serious, he just wants everyone to have a good time. He is one of the Best dudes.

When Opal told Hop he got "all the right answers" to her quizzes, the implication here is that he went with the polite answer for the final question. It says a lot about him.

she smiles when she’s with Mustard, too-it made me really happy as a Shield player to see the two fighting type experts pair together.

Piers song with Raihan is hilarious. Honestly this generation might hold the best set of gym leaders the series. I know they’re my favorite without a doubt.
They all act like one big dysfunctional family and I'm here for it
Tbf, most gym leaders back then didn't really interact with each other, and any interactions we know of were off screen or rarely occured. Gen 8 let them have free will with most of their character interactions which is why so many people like this set of characters. They all have interactions with each other, essentially.
On top of the dlc option, which gave them more time to add to the characters' personalities.

I hope they make another game before they remake DPP, and get the voice-acting straight. Also work on the textures and animations. SwSh did a good job with character development, but it sucked on almost every other department and it's saddening.

I absolutely love the personality of the Gym leaders/other characters in Galar. These interactions definitely let me appreciate them way more. Also Milo being a supportive big brother to Allister is so wholesome and precious. Also the interation between Melonie and Allister at 9:44 all I can say is XD Melonie is such a mom *I know that she is Geordie's mom but still*. (If you couldn't tell my favorite character is Allister...he's just so precious)

Melony and Allister give off mother/son vibes while Milo and Allister give off brotherly vibes
Them interacting with eachother just shows how much personality each character in this game has.

If you choose Kabu as your partner, and go up against Nessa and Milo, the three of them reminisce about seeing you and Hop off in Motostoke right after beating Kabu's gym.

I think this generation is the only one to give the gym leaders any real character and character development. It’s especially noticeable in Allister and Hop. It’s quite nice being able to interact with the gym leaders somewhat.
Does Gen 5 not exist anymore
But they were never in the story. Also Leon never really helped hop for his insecurity. Instead we have an arc for roxie. Or we help Jasmine in the lighthouse, or the lance mission in the team rocket hideout. I wish the story will have a real character development, so i will be emotional when i face finally the gym leader
I love how much dialogue there is to the star tournament alone. You have to admit, the DLC has some perks.

Sometimes it works, but other times how they sound might be best left up to the imagination.

You also have how he’s one of the few characters that make Bea smile, the others being Mustard and I think the player. The latter two make sense given how powerful and respected you and Mustard are, but Gordie seems a little strange. But in Bea’s league card, it mentions how the general public’s never really seen her smile, and suggests that there might be someone special to her.
Tl;Dr: Bea and Gordie are probably dating.

I personally think Sword/Shield have the most memorable gym leaders in the franchise. Second is BW/BW2 for me. That’s just my opinion though.

In BW especially, the Gym Leaders have more interactions with the story more than others and they have time to express their hobby and personality. (My favorites are Roxie, Elesa and Marlon)
The Gym Leaders in Galar have great expressions and bit of lore about them. Sadly, this isn't freshed well in the game and neither in the Fandom.

Gym battles yes. But the lack of Elite Four really feels lacking. Leon’s great and all, but there feels like a gap between his build-up vs past champs like Lance, Cynthia and such.
I really like Klaras reaction to winning with you, its pretty sincere.
Any one of the pairs with Peony made me smile. Hes such a good character!

The question is though is that how old is he supposed to be anyway since some conversations imply he is around Kabu’s age while others imply he is younger.
