It's such a shame it relied too much on the videogame... the worldbuilding, villains, characters and story were all so well executed. That castle is one of my favourite sets of all time, it just looks so dead and evil but so magnificent at the same time. I loved how the theme got progressively darker, there was so much potential
Modern era monster fighters
I want this to come back so badly. The theming is really good, and i really like the sets. Sad they retired them all. The game was also fun to play too.
super underrated sets but totally ruined by the weird cgi render box art. People thought it was ab addon to a game and nobody thought they were real sets

but that’s the entire point of the sets, sets that can stand alone and look cool but also have at compatability, the minifigures are holding phones to show how it looks to them

Im just now realizing, and maybe Im a bit late on this, but was Hidden Side an attempt to be similar to the The Upside Down in Stranger Things? The idea of having two worlds/realms so to speak?

The lighthouse set looks like a old Scooby Doo set makeover!
HS has some charming elements in it, but it also has potential to be much, much better ;)

I kinda liked this series, but without the weird theming. I build the pick-up truck, as a regular work truck. I also used the school bus as inspiration, and built a better school bus (without the extras). I made the stunt plane more normal as well.
the problem with modern lego is that their original themes are way to chaotic... like what On earth is Hidden side supposed to be? I definitely couldn't have told from the boxes, and same with the other themes like dreamzzz and even modern ninjago. Themes that do well fit into a category which kids can easily see and know what it is: knights... animals... cars... aliens... Lego needs to do some more original themes that feed into these classics.
Still have all these sets sealed.I think they will mature like fine wine.
I have the subway and the welcome to the hidden side set and they unfortunately can´t connect.

No, I just like the look of the normal builds more than the possessed ones.
@@BatFlightBuilds personally, I kinda feel that when you review and rank something like this, lego sets with a common gimmick, it would make sense to include all parts of the sets. like jayson said, it's like reviewing a lego theme while writing off the whole theme's point. lego designed these sets with the monster possession gimmick in mind, and ranks kinda feel half formed when ignoring that bit.
@The wild gamer I talked about the monster possession features for all the sets that had it. I didn't ignore it at all.
@@BatFlightBuilds Same here. I normalized my HS sets as much as possible. I also bought the sets that were easiest to normalize.
@@BatFlightBuilds I think he’s talking about the bus and the fire truck builds cuz u said u would like them more if they were regular builds.
