I think this video is so helpful to see that even puppies who live with trainers don't always listen. It's really encouraging that we're not alone! Thank you for showing the reality and showing exactly how to work through these puppy phases
Thank you for posting this. This is great as a new Upland Game hunting dog daddy who has been on the fence about e-collar conditioning. I had already sought out professional assistance with this, and your video reinforces my decision as being the right one in this instance.
Great info! I also like to have the dog wear the e caller for several weeks intermittently leading up to when I will actively using it. Helps prevent the collar shy/wise dog!
Our 5 month old GSP gets very hyper during our feeding/training sessions now. She will bite our hands on a recall, she will bark and sprint and crash onto her bed on a place command. Is it just the age?
What if he/she is afraid or doesn’t like going into the crate? I have a Boykin and when we do clicker training, he’s hesitant because he knows that sometimes he has to stay in there for a longer period of time (I.e., parents going to work). However, he will go in on command 85% of the time while clicker training for food. He’s 10.5 weeks old. We have a dog bed too and he has not hesitancy at all with that.
Really hoping you can help! A lot of times I want to take the dogs and do some leash training but myself or fiance isn't home. I normally put one outside but they whine(same with the crate). I was hoping for some suggestion on how to separate them without destroying my house or them whining.
That so good can a dog be trained at 5 years an 5 months old or is it a little late by then he has remembered sit and crawl it’s so cute when he does his crawl too also where can I get a clicker from would that help as well I’m just frustrated he was so good up too the age of 2 years can u help me please
A dog is never too old to be trained; we had a Vizsla reach the age of 15 years and almost 4 months and we did training almost every day. It keeps them mentally alert and stimulated.
Do you ever teach the dogs to lay down, or just sit? I know that is something that is generally some thing that is confusing to differentiate with the dogs.
I look forward to the next video because I'm trying to collar condition, but the tweet tweet of the birds, the crow overhead, etc just make it impossible to keep his attention on me.
So refreshing to see a real dog during training that isn't already 100% trained. This video is way more relateable
We try to show the good, bad, and ugly!

This is always our goals. Thanks for appreciating it!
So great to see Clay acting like my 5 mo Yellow lab with the bumper! Helps me not feel like such a failure. Love your videos!!

I love the ending, it's good reminder that pups aren't perfect
😂 clay just took off with the bumper
"See you later Clay" Got to love a Pup!
When should we expect your next video in the series? I have a 6mo old puppy, who does the exact same thing when we try to play fetch

@@StandingStoneKennels does it matter which one?
That outro had me laughing at my lunch break “seeya later clayyyyyy”
E-collars are not really legal here, and many other places, but yeah we are ready.
Can you give advise on training with food reward vs positive verbal reinforcements? Which one is better?

Thank you. Why are the dogs allowed to cancel the command themselves?

When we work through place training for duration we found that laying down will kinda happen on its own

I should add, indoors he's great. No issues with the collar. Outside the rules seem to no longer apply.
