Man I was scared when I read the title, and glad to see it was another actual cancellation, but sad because I'd actually be pretty interested in seeing where Cheat Slayer would go. Haven't really watched Isekai since I was a little girl, except for Ascendant of a Bookworm, and none of the new ones really attract me. I think it'd be pretty interesting to see (and also kinda expose) how the people who want to live their isekai fantasy get twisted by their selfish wants and choices. Maybe if the characters weren't too visually similar to the characters they were parodying, maybe this story could've gotten away with it being published. Way to make me care about a manga that'll never get a second chapter lol. No seriously, good job. Ngl the music and sfx was a bit too loud over your voice but other than that, this was a good video (especially since I left the burning dumpster fire known as Twitter)
Manga could have been great. I saw a few Americans and Europeons say they wanted something like this to read for the western market. It's too bad it came out at a bad time right when anime is hitting mainstream. If it had been an anime original or OVA maybe it could have stand the chance better. Sadly with this being cancelled? Unlikely it will ever get a release in America or Europe. Would be cool if they did like a manga behind the scenes look of it where it's the first chapter and than future chapters of what could have been an interesting plot. Like how the demon lords could have been involved in this mess or why some of the isekai heroes did what they did. Making only one of them an evil rapist grossing out half the cast kinda made them look like they don't do what that one Neet did even though if they were based on Isekai heroes from their respectable series they could have at least shown some of them when they harm people rather than just the rapist alone. Plus, if it had not been cancelled maybe the witch herself could have been a former Isekai hero that knew them but was kicked out cause she sided with the demon lords. Maybe that's why she knows their secrets cause Demons could have been one of those people that originally did not harm humans but for whatever reason godress punished them by using the Isekai heroes from their earth to clap cheeks on some of them but the twist is that some of them were born bad so the Godress only used them to basically do the bible version of human cleansing because humans were the bad guys the whole time. I know of one manga where at first it played out as an isekai manga but turns out it's earth from the future and the reason why earth looks like a wasteland because alien furries were behind the human race going extinct so basically humans have a reason to go after the furries which one human and his demon sword girl was trying to protect them basically mind fucking him good. Forgot the name of it but I'm sure you could Google it online. (Edit: The manga is called *"The Dark Queen And I Strike Back"* or in Japanese as *"Maou to ore no Hangyakuki, 魔王と俺の叛逆記"* If Cheat Slayer was going into something like this?) It could have been very smart and well written. Sadly it wasn't meant to be. :/ Also, some of the demon designs in Cheat Slayer looks cool. Too bad we rarely focused on them as much. :/
Anime fans and manga authors crying about plagiarism when the whole medium of isekai anime/manga has been circling the drain is hilarious to me. Most of these authors incestuously copy from one another the most boring and bland characters(usually self inserts) all the while infusing their work with old anime tropes and jokes that have long since made anyone actually laugh. Isekai as a genre doesn't have to suck, but so many of these authors think that tropes such as harems, NEET culture, lukewarm self insert MC's, etc. have to be included in the genre. They don't. I don't particularly care for the canceled manga, but the hypocrisy of a bunch of thieves thinking that their poor attempts at character design should be kept as sacred is laughable to me.
Let's be 100% honest if a NEET/shut-in no life anime nerd got a hold of all this power they would without a shadow of a doubt do vile things as soon as they became pseudo gods. This could have offered some interesting commentary about power, NEETS/shut ins and who knows what else.
Never heard of this manga before but here are my thoughts. It still had a bland generic black haired mc and it's about revenge so I don't think it would've been "a breath of fresh air" but more of a "I am 14 and this is deep" type of manga. I don't believe "this story could've really been something" I believe that if this story wasn't cancelled, it still would've ended up being edgy garbage.
I wish this manga wasn't cancelled this would be such a funny manga Dude it's literally not hurt anyone it called a parody people need to crap get some balls Nan
Can tell you put in a lot of effort in this vid, good stuff
glad you enjoyed it

Yeah I sort of agree. The isekai genre has definitely run its course.

In retrospect, yeah, probably.
