A great band that blends punk and melodic song writing to create a very unique and recognizable sound. Burch considers Bad Religion not only one of his favorite bands but one of the very important bands for social commentary.

Heard of the band. Interesting band name, especially fits the USA. The song content was a good extrapolation of what was to come and what is now.
The irony here is. we are stuck to our screens watching this, lol.
The singer Gregory Walter Graffin is an evolutionary biologist and has a PhD… Alexis has a taste for Punk !!!! Let’s feed it more!!!!!!!! ✌️
Never heard anyone call him by Gregory and his middle name haha but he's a genius!
One of my all time favourite bands.....
So many good songs to choose from over 40 odd years
Great discussion about what the song had to say 34 years ago. It's scary.
Love the song and enjoyed the reaction to it. Less so the “Let me explain why I’m such a great parent compared to everyone else” part.
This is awesome! Bad Religion and Pennywise both great social/political/punk. And what a great conversation after the song. loved it!
Bad Religion formed in 1980 continuing now...their lead singer is also a professor with a PhD, in zoology, has taught at Cornell University, UCLA, and others. He also has a master's degree in evolutionary biology...and the list can go on...outside of being the lead singer of a punk band.
This is the 1994 re-recording from "Stranger Than Fiction". I personally prefer the original 1990 "Against The Grain" version. I guess mainly because I'm more familiar with it, because actually there is not really a huge difference. And yes, lyrically they were very right on with this one. Bad Religion was and is one of the best punk bands ever.
Personally I prefer the STF version. I'm personally biased to Bobby's drumming though.
As a kid my folks would ask where I wanted to go for vacation but, my answer never changed: "anywhere that has a pool."
ahh i was a computer tech in the mid 90's laptops didn't become a thing till the later 90's. Wolfenstein 3d and heretic were big in 94. my cost on a 486dx100 desktop in 95 was close to $2k with a sound card and cd to put it into perspective.
I had a pc with those specs
great tune, incredibly prescient. the internet was still half a decade away. thought you'd watch the video though. glad to hear Alexis' approach to screen time for her kids.
Yay my favorite band Greg Graffin is a genius, literally.
Yeah he has a PhD
If you want intelligent social commentary, and, satire, there is no better band than Bad Religion!
Alexis' robot moment makes me want to rec Mr Roboto by Styx! And for the punk, MORE PUNK IS ALWAYS NEEDED!!! Whether that's punk, pop punk or any other kind of punk Alexis needs more!
i love my computer called it also
More punk more punk more punk!
I’ve always known of BR but never listened. I liked that song; think I’ll check out some more.
It reminded me of Bush because of the vocals I think. I also instantly thought of the song Funny by Jani Lane. I wonder if Jani listened to BR.
One of the songs off of my favorite Bad Religion album, Stranger Than Fiction....love this whole LP beginning to end
Stranger than Fiction and Better off Dead are my favs. Album is great. That era produced some solid albums, not as edgy as their early stuff, but solid, nonetheless.
How about some King Crimson?
Great song and album
Cool. I had forgotten how good they are.
As for the screen/kids debate. Couldn’t agree more with you guys about the sterilisation of todays kids actual imaginations and independence.
🔥🔥🔥🔥more punk!!!! Pennywise please
Great that you're getting into punk. BR were melodic compared to most punk, but their lyrics are so god damn intelligent and thought provoking. One of my favorite bands of all time, in any genre.
Have to say though, so many better BR songs you could have picked for her. I like 21st Century DB but I feel like American Jesus or Atomic Garden is what you should start people with when you introduce them to BR.
this video after talk, put me in a depression ......😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
Always associated this song with King Crimson's 21st Century Schizoid Man. According to wiki Digital Boy does pay homage to the King Crimson song towards the end.
Cats foot, iron claw
Neurosurgeon screaming for more
Innocence raped by napalm fire
Great song and was funny to see the lyrics come to fruition with smartphones becoming commonplace for everyone including the homeless and grade schoolers alike
Love some Bad Religion. Need to introduce her to American Jesus.
They are currently touring with Social Distortion...another band you should do
Oi! Oi! Oi!
To stay with the topic, "I Love My Computer" by Bad Religion
Don't play poker with Brian Baker. He cheats. Kidding of course. Great guys, better shows and Brian is super cool.
