Or not, either way is cool!

Love it. Dead simple, cheap, easy. I work in a gravel driveway so I’ve been looking for something like this. I’d considered trying to rig up something like they have at the junkyard but this is so much simpler.
Plywood works really good 2 roll on.
Here's the video I was looking for.
I like it, except I’m not really fond of pneumatic tires on the engine host if it was to go flat it could dump the whole thing
Sir are you a prophet? Guess what I'm doing next weekend🤣
Jr you can dill holes downwards over the leg pins and cap the legs for additional strength.
along with welding up a drain pan between the legs to prevent a mess in your shop
One of the things I might do in the future is add a plate across the legs so I can drop an engine onto it to rest while I push it, instead of letting it swing wild lol
I will definitely look into that at the potential farm.
Thanks so much!!
I’ll probably weld mine with a little more adaption.
Thank you thank you thank you. I remember that I kept bugging you in every videos about the cherry picker upgrades lol finally you made the video about it yeah!!! 🥳
Glad I could help!
You ain’t kidding about the hoist and stand issue. Even with a Honda 4cyl or a Subaru boxer, it was sketchy. Can’t imagine what problems a big V8 would introduce. Would be nice to see an integrated system. I’m not a truck guy, so the mod wouldn’t be all that useful for me, but I applaud your ingenuity.
I'm not going to say what I went through trying to put a LS onto a 1 ton Harbor engine stand. It wasn't good, for the power steering pump at least. Hope this helps, plus moving the sucker around on off beaten paths is a major plus.
Car guys could do the reverse of this. Larger casters on the engine stand. Leaves your picker low to the ground.
I have wondered if these tires would support the weight of a motor. Just wasn't sure overall. Thanks JR!
I've already slung around a Toyota axle, a 5.3, and a 460 Ford with it.
@@TheDrivewayEngineer Yeah, axles was going to be my use for the time being. Have a 14 bolt that is way easier to manipulate and tired of having to do it the hard way and rubbing more dirt and mud into stuff. Thanks for the easy mode upgrade/
@@TheDrivewayEngineerI lifted a 460 with a hoist I put these exact casters on as well, and the tires blew): I guess a cast iron 460 is pushing the limits of what two of those casters can handle
That is so cool, just dead simple
will roll over a zip tie lol great idea thx
I'm sure you could throw an adapter on the back side that would allow this thing to be put on a hitch for transport.
Any benefit with going with fixed casters in the rear of the engine hoist over swivel casters?
One of the main problems I have with this setup is, the increased height of the legs will not allow a fully dressed LS to set it on the ground. The A/C and exhaust manifolds hit. Ask me how I know, lol!!
That’s not an “issue” lol sit in on a pallet how would you like if I just set you on the cold wet ass ground in the elements? Wouldn’t be too eager to “work” next time I needed you noe would ya?😂😂😂😂 #v8livesmatter #backthebowtie #backthehuggerorange
I was planning on building something hitch mounted and looking for ideas, definitely going to steal some of yours, maybe casters on the front add a short trailer axle across the back. Still adding a receiver mount to make it truck-portable.
One thought, I would be careful using four times the weight capacity of each caster to calculate the total weight capacity as the weight is not evenly distributed. If you pick up a thousand pound load, there's going to be more than 500 lb of that on the two front casters. I'm not sure exactly how to calculate that weight distribution, but looking at health private pilots calculate weight and balance might give us a clue.
Perhaps I could even figure out how to put the stationary tires on the front and the castered tires on the back by the operator. I'll probably also eventually separate the lift with the receiver mount from the subframe with the wheels and put a receiver on the subframe to hold the lift so I can use the lift on the wheeled subframe or independently on the back of my truck in fact it would be very simple to add a simple trailer hitch to the subframe to go on the ball of my truck for towing
Just found what I was speaking of
ruclips.net/user/shortsnwyZSfRQdT0?si=ABHsCjDo-LI8y0js
In an older video/videos, this was hitch mounted with no wheels.
What wheels are those that you have on your c10....I have a '73 and I really like the way those look on darryl only difference is mine is a shortbed fleetside. .....
They're US Wheel Rat Rods with some Caprice 9C1 center caps
Dam good video
Glad you enjoyed
Thanks
Having an issue finding the square ubolts! Please oh prophet of necessity and facilitator of solutions, please list where you got these!
The ones on the screen were at Home Depot, but I bought mine at Tractor Supply.
Having the size, you can just order them online now.
@@TheDrivewayEngineer Got my answer Thanks Prophet!
I mention you in my last video. Hope that’s ok. :)
I did this with harbor freight wheels, it sucked and the wheel literally collapsed bending the rim trying to turn it over a little been in a dirt driveway with only a bare 302 block on the hoist.
Moved a Cummins with mine a week ago lol
Jr love the videos crazy amount of great information in local here in michigan myself I am currently in the midst of my first ls swap it watched almost everyone of your videos and took alot of your advice I have a 2005 trailblazer i6 I bought a 2005 0r 2006 envoy denali same gmt360 platform is pulled the 5.3l engine harness computer fuse box gas pedal radiator engine mounts etc etc to make the swap as simple as possible well turns out the shortblock was garbage so I just bought a 2002 tahoe 5.3 dbc my plan is to use the shortblock from the tahoe and the rest of the stuff from the envoy computer harness etc now what my question is . these tuner websites that deleted vats program transmission want to know the engine year would I got with 2005 because of the harness and computer ? Any help would be appreciated . also do you do "start up " tunes like segment swap to 4l80e vats delete evap etc. If so let me know would love to keep it local
If you're using a Tuner you should give them the year of your donor stuff.
If you need a starter tune, reach out through the Facebook group and I can help you out.
Could you weld them if needed?
Sure, they're steel
Got a link to those U bolts?!?TIA
seems like you lose the ability to fold up legs for compact storage without the center casters
Sure do
genius
👍
Why didn't I think of this???
Zip tie, haha
