Tank And The Bangas: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

- Опубликовано: 19 мар 2017
- Bob Boilen | March 10, 2017 - Out of over 6,000 entries - more submissions than we've ever received - Tank And The Bangas won, unanimously, this year's Tiny Desk Contest. I fully expected their victory performance here at NPR headquarters in D.C. to be celebratory. I didn't know we'd all end up in tears.
This band combines R&B with hip-hop's poetry and rollercoaster storytelling, with a flair and alchemy that could only come from New Orleans. Their winning song, "Quick," mixes liquor and revenge - a sort of modern day take on a great folk tale, but peppered with their own idiosyncratic flair and humor. What I couldn't see, until they took over my desk, was the depth of their lyricism and the versatility of their players. At one moment fun-filled funk, the next laid-back jazz, rhythm-driven blues - and it all flows seamlessly. And it's fun to watch: There's a magic kinship between Tarriona "Tank" Ball and Anjelika "Jelly" Joseph as they share singing roles, like two best friends finishing one another's sentences.
This is the third year that NPR Music has put out a call in hopes of finding a shining star. I'm still amazed how, after sifting through thousands of videos from abundantly talented musicians, we can find a common winner amongst a range of judges with such different musical backgrounds. But in the end, my All Songs Considered co-host Robin Hilton, Trey Anastasio (Phish), Miguel, Anthony Hamilton, Ben Hopkins (PWR BTTM), BANKS, and folks who listen to an awful lot of music - NPR member station hosts Rita Houston (WFUV), Talia Schlanger (WXPN), Stas THEE Boss (KEXP) - and myself were all equally charmed, delighted and captivated.
And so here it is, a chance to see an artist truly blossoming. It's just the beginning: A few years ago, for our first Contest, Fantastic Negrito won our hearts. This year he won a Grammy. Last year Gaelynn Lea, an unknown violinist, teacher and singer sent a video captured on a phone and won our affection and souls. A few weeks ago, her Tiny Desk Concert had been seen more than a million times. These days she's taken to the road, touring the world.
Tank And The Bangas will be hitting the road in April with NPR Music to find their new audience - I'll be along for the ride - visiting many of our member stations with help from those music-loving beer brewers at Lagunitas. I can't wait to see the reaction in these crowds' eyes, as they fill with wonder and tears like ours did, experiencing this band for the first time.

Almost weekly. That harmony at 20:15 still gives me chills.

Still the most amazing Tiny Desk concert I have heard to this day. The pure talent of these women as well as the band is insane.
Definitely up there, which says A LOT. Can't sleep on Anderson.Paak's either. Splitting hairs
I 💯 % agree! 🤍🌊🪷🤍
Erykah badu’s was good too
Big Daddy Cane's performance was insane as well ..But i agree..I want to see this ensemble live.
This reminds me of the Tiny Desk with, Hobo Johnson and The Love Makers. My first time listen to this Concert, and I am having fun.
Yo this not just music, this a whole broadway show i'm honestly so amazed. Didn't know music could be THIS expressive, whimsical, beautiful, and chill at the same time. I'm in love.
kaly I said the exact same thing to my friend last night when my friend showed this to me. This is absolutely beautiful.
kaly Jesus I see your profile pic...it's wonderful. Always appreciate great things 😭
you should check some frank zappa recordings
💯
kaly YEEEEEEEES!!!!
NO matter how many times i watch this I still come back and watch it again.
Me too. Did you catch that dope freestyle/Jam session?
I was just about to write the same thing!
Me too Kev! They're amazing!
Same with your videos too!!! I keep going back and watching
Indeed!
I love how Tank disassociates at certain parts of ‘rollercoasters’ as if she’s reliving that moment at Jazz land…so pure.
you know the passion is so raw when Jelly starts shedding a tear, they've rehearsed and played this so many times, but this performance was special for them obviously, they made it... and Tank puts in 17000000000% and the raw emotion she's putting in makes Jelly break even though she's heard the story all those times, that's how you know Tanks emotion is real, Jellys is too. It's a beautiful thing.
I fell in love with my partner to this performance. They were so excited one day proudly showing me all of their favorite tiny desk videos. I vividly remember staring at my partner when “rollercoasters” came on, and I was brought to tears because I knew at that moment I had just fallen in love. We decided to separate recently and as I was driving to work the memory of that song and that special moment came to mind. Not unlike rollercoasters the ride ends but you’ll never regret giving it a chance. Sorry for sharing into the void. I miss and love you Wisdom.
Y'all can make it out
Even though the rollercoaster is over, you can still say you enjoyed the ride! I'm so glad you felt immense joy from seeing her childlike wonder, that is apart of love 🙌🏽💕
When you heal, get back in line.
@@retiredgenius like that, like so
No. Thank You. For sharing into the void ✨🤎✨ Sending peace & joy for your next chapter.
Hey you, welcome back! I know this isn’t your first time here
haha! i feel spotted.
I will not be called out like this @Andre! (But it is so true)
Lol
My 10th time I need this in 2021
This is indeed a true statement, lol
Tank sings, raps, acts, recites and is funny all in one song. I've never seen anything quite like it.
Jill Scott is probably the only person I can think of!!!!! Almost identical!
Then she has a moment of being herself between songs with a big smile on her face and right on the first beat/note of the next song she snaps back to acting and rapping/singing without an obvious cue.
mkuehter12 theatrical magic it seems
It's amazing
She reminds me of Jill Scott
It’s been 7 years and I’m still coming back to watch this.
Rollercoaster was playing in the delivery room when my daughter was born. Thank y’all and bless y’all for such beautiful music.
Your backup singer is the 🐐.....PERIOD
She is the best! Energetic. Creative a whole vibe!
All I see is goats in fancy shirts
That’s A Fact!
There's so much going on vocally and instrumentally, I'm going to rewatch this an obnoxious number of times
I've watched about ten times and I notice something new each time, it's like watching a good movie and noticing more and more clues each time. Very well crafted!
Danny Lozano I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one! I've dissected this performance and previous ones to find my favorite parts, and enjoy it like new all over again. 😃
this is the new age of music
I noticed the same thing. Absolutely incredible.
maiya dingle thank goodness lol
And she has such a precious combination of a child's amazement at the world, and the maturity and beauty of someone experienced in life...
This!
Well said
This part!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 well said!
She’s a genius.
There is something so special about this group. It never fails to bring me to tears, 5 years later. Simply beautiful
Watching it rn balling my eyes out🥺
Yes you said it exactly 😢❤
It's the whole New Orleans vibe distilled in a single performance, maybe even all of your amazing black culture in a way, the one that made the US shine all around the world, and the one that makes it seems like this country still has a bright future despite all of it's paradoxes and terrible deeds. Tiny desk itself is a breath of fresh air, but this set right here is the posterchild of why it was invented, and why it's still such an institution years later.
From France, with love towards anyone that knows how much music means in our short drifting voyage on this lonely planet =)
"What lots of people don't know about New Orleans is there....was...a gigantic theme park". The intro to rollercoasters makes me cry every time.
CarefreeBlackGirlMagic without any apologies...
You should check out the video she did with stylelikeu
Actually I saw that. That is the main reason I opened this video when it popped up in my notifications. I had no idea the magic I would witness. Thanks
SonniAli McMichael lol same
Damn it feels good to be black and to be woman
ovo196 ... this comment plus Sunday afternoon go together so well
This is the only Tiny desk that feels like a movie.
I definitely went on a rollercoaster ride with them!
I just wrote this is a musical. A play.
right
Just finished the video and I see what you mean. An indie short, perhaps, with a Super 8 look.
Feels like a Broadway play, THEY KILLING IT WITH CREATIVITY
We just can't thank NPR enough for making us discover these amazing people.
Alguien sabe si ese sitio es visitable?
Agreed
I'm still crying over Rollercoasters and it becomes more and more relatable every single year
Her use of storytelling and emotion is incredible.thank you!
Where can I procure a pair of those banana pants?
Forever 21 for sure.
Incredible performance, all of them.
Daniel Murphy g
Does anyone else cry when she says take off. I don't know why, but I felt like she released every problem I have when she said that
I ain't never heard of of tank and the bangas, but my God Rollercoasters, I was not ready..... Shit made me cry how deep I felt this in my soul. Thank you NPR for introducing me to Tank And the Bangas
Anthony Mitchell felt emotional too. Too ill!
Was a bit (very) skeptical at first, and upon reading this comment I was like I dont get it. And then after a couple minutes of listening I felt the same. Shit hit me and I was like damn that was nice.
Zach Hamilton bruh I was the same way but I skipped the first and when that hit I had to rewind and listen to the whole thing
Neither did I, and i'm from New Orleans! As soon as I heard them say that hula hoop line, I was like OK DATS MY PPL I KNOW OUR ACCENT ANYWHERE! LOL This makes me so happy!!
Same. I want more !
This will FOREVER be one of my fav Tiny Desk Sessions. WOW!!! 🤎🤎🤎
Same.. Tingles
nah
In my personal top 3 tiny desk concerts I've ever watched.
From not knowing who they are to my jaw on the floor pressing replay nonstop.
Incredible talent.
What the other two?
@@rodox_sk8 for my personal taste, just out of the ones i've listened to so far. I'd say JID and Tobe Nwigwe are the other two. No specific order.
@@PlozProdi haven't even seen tobes found momints awhile ago by chance the guy is amazing as a musician
"There's some areas of New Orleans where the storm has never passed." ~Tank
That line hit me in the soul.
Truth
you should watch treme
Listen!!! I thought I was the only one who felt that
ditto
Ikr 😫😫
When I saw this was over 20 minutes long, I had no intention of watching it all; but here I am 23+ minutes later. Loved it
The energy Tank & Jelly have is UNMATCHED 🤞🏽❤️
these are the kind of musicians that should be winning right now
I am obsessed with Tank's energy! Let nothing but light touch her!
Yes.
Me too, there is something special about her.
I just want to kick it with her, she gives off so much good energy!
collabo...
Amen!
The last song is one of the most beautiful musical conversations I've ever heard. So much chemistry here.
Eric Reynolds I legitimately bawled. I've never had a piece of music touch me like Rollercoasters did. I am still in shock at what just happened...
Eric Reynolds yes
0:00 - Boxes And Squares
6:54 - Quick
14:58 - Rollercoasters
April 2024 and I'm still listening
Hey 👋🏿 to the person up late night watching this with a BIG SMILE on your face!! Peace and Love ❤
🌟Tye C Whoa... merci 💫⭐
That's me! It's 3 am and I totally fell in love with them.
Tye C It's 4:23 AM and I am rolling back into smiles from tears. Peace to you!
It's 12:23 pm here
Tye C you nailed it... 2:36am... peace and love to you too
I loved Tank and everything she did for the songs but JELLY'S COSIGNS WERE SO ON POINT!!!!!!!
bbyrd52 Jelly took each song to the next level. And Rollercoasters...she made the whole song worth singing.
57 year old from UK and I will take the timings to my grave amazing!!
I felt the exact same way but I kind of got the impression that Tank was getting upset with some of the riffs that Jelly was taking. Check this out. Toward the end of the first song, Jelly starts to riff and you can see it in Tanks face that she was getting frustrated and you can even here her say "Sing the Song" to Jelly 5:25 . I didnt catch it the first time around. What do you all think?
Wow. I didnt catch that for as many times as I watched this.
I wondered how she knew when to come in and out... They seemed to gel together perfectly... but I guess they even need to communicate during performances.... however, so smooth MOST of us missed it.
Yes!!! Jelly is just on point, and they are so separate but cohesive. Can't really explain it.
For me, the best NPR TINY desk 😊
Check out Pak Anderson and The Free Nationals. It's epic!
This group is ABSOLUTELY REFRESHING! The times in which we are living is BAD. Very few people care for each other anymore, love and kindness seems to be forgotten. Then I heard Tank and the Bangas! There is hope. Thank GOD for their Love and pure expression! Jazz, Hip Hop, Poetry, stellar tag team vocals, UNBELIEVABLE MUSICIANSHIP, accents, colors, tone, JOY! I am overwhelmed! Thank you for this cosmic, drink of spiritual water in a society that has become a desert of love and emotion. There is hope!
I want a whole Netflix documentary of them touring the world and them giving us joy.
GOOD idea!
documentary series!
I agree!
Their big shows are CRAZY. I was not ready after only knowing this lol
Meeee Toooooo💗
Who else is using NPR tiny desk as their safe place during these crazy times?
Here!
Here!
hey can i hang out here :*)
100% this!
Yes!
I have toured the world, watched thousands of musical performances, in real life and on television/RUclips, and I cannot express how next level this is. This seriously jams so hard.
I like to listen to Tiny Desk in the background while I work and this performance was terrible for that... couldn't get any work done during this intense, captivating performance. It was truly amazing to watch
🙂
I feel like everybody needs a Jelly in their life
Rochai say-hey which one is jelly
Gary Buster the lady on the left with the white hat
Rochai say-hey BEST COMMENT ON THIS VIDEO AND THE REALEST!!! 😜
Currently taking applications for those interested in the position of "Jelly"...we'll call you...Ranch!!
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I know I could use one in my life. LOL!
Jelly should def have a solo project at some point.
What in the Badu, Jill Scott, Robert Glasper, Floetry kinda group is this
Man I’m loving it!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The same thing I said 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👩🏾
I said the same! I've never heard of them before but I absolutely love them.
Animated like Missy Elliott & Busta Rhymes with a hint of Jill Scott seasoned with Badu....
Hahaha I said the same..... I love what I’m hearing
ConsciousEsthetics 🤣😂😁
2022 and I'm STILL watching this.. Amazing every time. True Artistry x
Same. Still amazing.
Here.again...August 26, 2022
Just saw them for the first time live at the Blue Note in NYC on Friday night 11.18.2022. They were awesome!
I’ve watched this no less than 50 times…here’s to 50 more!
Their albums should solely be live albums, no studio recordings.
Amari Sali they are like the Grateful Dead of soul and R&B
Yassssssss
Amari Allah yep
Amen!
Yeah I agree. I tried listening to the album's but find I keep returning to live shows.
If you really sit back and think about the things Tank does with her voice throughout this to portray different moods and images, its just unreal.
every aspect in this is something to sit back and think about tbh
It's makes you feel and relate to it. I am hooked on them.
She reminds me of a quirky jill scott
Tank and the bangas are a living work of art. I love their collaborations and how they convey such incredible feelings and images
Yes, she captures the emotion of what she sings extremely well
THIS has to be one of the best IF NOT THE BEST Tiny Desk EVER!!!!! Just out of this world! After 5 years, I still come back to this. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
PLEASE have them back
NPR music is the Netflix originals of music
this wins all comments.
some geniuses back there in the netflix originals offices
i fully agree phil, just as useless and depressing
I can't tell if that's a complement or an insult or both. There are some amazing Netflix originals (House of Cards, Bojack Horseman, Stranger Things) but there is also a lot of shit (that Bill Nye show.)
@@fegit9413 Nah, that's just you and lackluster life. Work on that, friendo!
These folks are a Jazz / spoken word / motivation speaking / hip-hop / “soulful Disney” / performance art masterpiece machine. It’s so reassuring to see there’s this much creativity left in the universe.
Thdxbll3 soulful Disney is such a good description. All the characteristics they bring out continuously
GabbishLee Gifted - can’t take credit for that one. Pretty sure I read them describe their art that way somewhere. Cheers!
Thdxbll3 but shouldn't we save a little creativity to create the 2.0 H-bomb????!
AMEN! CHILLS
With incredible rythym and timing
Thought before watching this for what feels like the 100th time, "It's been a while, I can probably watch this and not cry now."
11 Minutes in: 😭
They are SO good
I'm a huge fan of Tiny Desk and I do beleive Tank and the Bangas are the best example of what a Tiny Desk should be, they did an incredible show, gives me the chills everytime I listen to Rollercoasters
the musicality, theatricality, and pure artistry just shine from this group. they're having so much fun and i can't wait to follow their journey.
Do you actually think you'll follow their journey? I would +1 this Tank parade
This duo reminds me of the talented JILL SCOTT . Tanks performance was great and I can see from their performance that Jill Scott has to be one of their biggest influences.
"I want to give them my money," is all I could think while watching this......
same
lilrosspv lolol right
lilrosspv read this while listening to "gotta make my money real quick real quick" 😂😂👌👌
Rollercoaster was the first song to ever make me cry genuine tears and till this day I come back and listen to this and still get very emotional...love this song with a passion
I cant count the times i have listened to it. If I listen through, I go through many phases of reality.
everytime i watch this, end up in tears ♡ this is a masterpiece
me too 😹
Same
I'm glad I got a chance to them in 2020 before before the country was shut down They was good
'Rollercoasters' is an achievement for humanity as a whole.
My. God.
ck675 THIS! YES! The best translation I've heard yet!
ck675 Couldn't have said it better! Exactly right!
indeed!
A million likes to that
Yes......it tells everybody's story
I have watched this at least 5678 times. so good.

Angelique Gates just commenting so you come back and watch 5679 times
This set makes me shiver when I'm still and still when I'm shivering.
I've looked down on spoken word in the past. Tank and the Bangas opened my eyes.
I'm getting back in line.
STILL THE BEST TINY DESK ! 🐐
Anyone else feel like Tank is just like a real life Disney princess?
I feel like I've been taken on an adventure and experienced all of the wonders and adversities at her side...
The princess from The Princess and the Frog has a very similar name, and is also from New Orleans. But I agree with you, she probably be having birds land on her hand as she walks through the park and stuff. She's glorious.
BGM is such a cool and positive movement.
OMG Yesss
Exactly! I was thinking the same. Her whole vibe is just awesome...so animated and every emotion comes through. First time seeing this. I am blown away!
I share the same feeling, Man this music is our of this world.
Somebody needs to contact NBC and get Tank and the Bangas onto The Tonight Show Classroom Instruments with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots ASAP, if not sooner.
Ceara Ryan they were on the tonight show earlier this year as back up singers for Nora Jones
Well two years later and it happened!
It’s now year 2019 & they made on the show 🙂
Your wish came true!
Relevant lol.
Tiny desk concerts perhaps the greatest idea of all time
7 years old and still my favorite tiny desk by far ❤️❤️❤️
I was watching this video at work like "damnn, they're dope I wanna see them live!" ...then that last song got me, couldn't grab no shoes or nothin Jesus! 😭😭
lmao!
rofl!!!!
c'mon down to nola ...
Keith Kelly 😭😭😂😂😂😂
rollercoaster
You wanna know how I found this video? I ordered some earphones on Amazon and clicked on anything to test them out and sheesh, its crazy how the universe works. I’m in love with this. Such positive energy.
They are crazy dope!! I enjoy their sound!!!!!
that's how I test my brand new earphones too
the sound engineering of every NPR tiny desk concert is off the chart, can't believe all of them are live singing
This was the first tiny desk that I’d ever watched and I’m still coming back 5 years later
Have seen thousands of shows...and had the enormous pleasure of seeing Tank & the Banga's only once...but that 'once' was easily one the best shows I have ever seen.
"I WOULD'VE BEEN YOUR MEATS, YOUR GREENS, YOUR PEAS, YOUR MILK." Not only is the lyrical flow & SPOKEN WORD ON POINT and SO RELEVANT but T's delivery is so clever and her voice affects you deep down; she's got soulful old school "we in church" pipes. JELLY KNOWS SHE ROCKS TOO. So much soul, so whimsical, so authentic; Tank & The Bangas is: AN AESTHETIC.
I love how emotional Jelly gets. I felt all of that.
the way jelly looks at T during rollercoaster... both their emotions are insanely moving
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Nicely put.
She's a treasure
The sista with that cute ponytail has one of the most dynamically multi-layered voices I've ever heard!!!
Mariah B u
It’s also crazy how much Jelly compliments her voice and vice-versa. Near perfect sync.
I’m so late to this. But this is everything. The vocals, the range, the vibe, the improv, the antics… it’s all so perfect. The tone of Jelly!! And Tank! Just wow. My gawd!!!! That rollercoaster song has been playing all day, no lie, all day for 5 days. With no end in sight. ❤
Someone once told me that it's impossible to create a new kind of music, new genres, new expressions...that everything has already been created and invented in music. Such a bull***t. Emotion is limitless in its expressiveness. I loved this show. So fresh and intense.
Whose here for Tank & The Bangas in 2020 💃💃💃❤??
I watch this at least once a month, usually more. Ask me again in 2025 and i'll probably still say the same thing.
Tondria Grimm 4sho
yep here, especially after the new Jacob collier release
Got what you asked for 🌚
I was today year old when I first heard of Tank and The Bangas. I'm really enjoying them.
Tank is absolutely phenominal. Her performance in Quick is one of the best I've seen.
This is just so magical. There are no words to explain the one of a kind talent of these individuals. The whole performance is timeless. Rollercoasters is a masterpiece. I listen on the regular.
That last song had me catching feelings and getting emotional! Beautiful performance.
thebardfromspace me too! Smh
Yea a thug had to get up from his desk and wipe his eyes real quick. My co-worker asked if I was alright, I was like "yea bruh...Allergies"
Keith Kelly LMFAO!!! Really!?
+Keith Kelly LOL @ allergies, good one!!!
Yo THIS is hip hop. She was born to be an MC
Anyone else cry when rollercoasters come on or is it just me?
Me too love. My God it hits the soul heavy
Every. Single. Time.
Me too first time watching this or hearing of this group and it is amazing ❤
Only now I've realised this was posted 7 years ago!
2024 and I'm watching on a daily basis, wow how great they are!
Every kid that feels odd, weird, or left out should watch this. These ladies are the epitome of not fitting in, fearless, go-getters. Jazzy outcasts!
Mia the outcasts among us are usually the truly cool ones to begin with.✌
Damn. I was gonna comment this.
I bet she gives the best hugs
shumbalum she does. seriously
shumbalum Yesssss so much SOUL!!!!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
i feel like she hugged me with her song
I met her today, and she does! Such a sweet spirit!
I don't have children but this Tiny Desk taught me what it feels like to have a favorite child. You love them all but...
I watch this all the time and I swear, “will open after the storm” makes me cry every time. New Orleans was my home. And the last day I lived there was a week after Katrina hit, when the rescue boat came and took us away.
Did anybody else notice the range on Jelly?!?!! AMAZING!!!
Those low notes on Rollercoaster are the best.
Terrell B we all need a second like Jelly in our lives. Rollercoaster lifted me for reelz
You should watch their rendition of Nina Simone's Four Women. Kelly BLOWS!!!! She sings the character of Peaches. Maaaaan! That girl got mad vocals!!
Carla Mason post the link I'd love to watch
Yes Lord her voice 😍
If Jill Scott had a daughter ❤❤❤
Mechelle 2 U yesss!
I SWEAR!!!!
Mechelle 2 U Took the words right out of my mouth. I was thinking of Jill all throughout this performance!
A collab would be so dope
mixed with vocal versatility of Kim Burrel (she looks like her too). With the high personality rhyming of erykah badu (at times)
I've watched this a GAZILLION times! And NOT ONCE has it ended with a dry eye!! THANK YOU!!💖🎶💖🎶💖🎶💖 12-31-2023
I think I I account for at least 20% of the views.
I watch this 5-30 times a day
I goddamn love this. The instrumentals alone would already be absolutely killer, but then you add the mix of storytelling, comedy, rap, and absolutely gorgeous singing on top of that and it's just flooring. I simply cannot get enough of this.
I love how her facial expressions just elevate things to another level. That's PERFORMING!
At 20:04 She literally cannot hold her joy in anymore. It is so beautiful. Then I cried along with her.
Yesss she’s so expressive. A born performer
I have lived in Ghana and there you'll find women like this, all over the country, you will meet them even at the markets 😅💪🏽
Son asombrosas esa chicas. Tienen mucho estilo y flow. Yeaahh, las amé.
I love this group so much. My special love for Jelly grows every time I watch her support Tank's lead vocals and stand out all on her own at the same time.
Watching this again in 2023 !!!! Tank and The Bangas are the truth!!
How in the heck am I supposed to turn on the radio after this?!
Rhonda Dandridge How? How? How!? 😂 that’s exactly how I feel 😂
I just threw it in the trash
laugh out loud, but really how are we?
The realist post on RUclips
Rhonda Dandridge 🤷🏽♀️😆
"There's a magic kinship between Tarriona "Tank" Ball and Anjelika "Jelly" Joseph as they share singing roles, like two best friends finishing one another's sentences." !!!!!!!
X Galanty where is Jelly now??
@@williamscharday She's still around she is touring Europe with them. She is just a solo artist so she is not classified as an official "Banger"
Jelly needs to be a solo artist-she’s also as strong a singer as Tank. Doesn’t make sense to be a backup singer too long. At first, I thought she was tag team duo with Tank.
they seem like the sweetest people xxx
@@Cordog1111 A tag team duo would be perfect imo. Watching their live performances just aren't the same without her. But in all fairness to her, I can't knock it if she spread her wings some more.

This is my favorite Tiny Desk and how I found out about this group
i honesty regret watching this because now im addicted. goddamit.

RIGHT RIGHT!!!
Grown man cry😭😭😭
The way Tank brings the animation and voice impression . Every last one of them together is a soul tribe. :) I love this whole group
I still come back to this particular tiny desk concert from time to time, and it never fails to bring a smile to my face :)
