not to be rude but, this is such a lie you can tell
The reality: usually cheap guitars can buzz and sound dead more often even with practice, usually its the bridge that is the problem as it might be a bit too close to the frets. Another solution might be switching strings (after you fix the bridge) but overall expensive and cheap are still the same build

I'm not sure if it's just my observation but I feel like you took more care playing and finessing the notes on the expensive guitar. A little heavy handed on the odd strum etc. Sometimes when playing a pricey instrument it makes the musician have a deeper respect and this reflects in the playing too.

@@60secondpages You are right, but it is usually much easier to feel the spacing and each string on a good guitar. So it is easier to “finesse” - I agree with you, but good guitar builds show off in that the player is typically more comfortable with the neck shape, the finish, the balance of the guitar in your lap, the spacing is accurate, the strings feel not as stiff because the good brands usually do not go cheap on the guitar strings either. Also, let’s face it, a good guitar can sometimes inspire you to play a little better. Maybe also, he played the Larivee second and that is like using the cheap guitar for a little finger stretching and coordination warm-up. I thought the cheap guitar sounded really good also, but this is the player coming through for it.

Thats an awesome question Carl. And it made me think alot! Great playing!
I spent a semester living in Japan (in 2001), i bought a cheap 3/4scale guitar for about 76usd, just to have something to play. I played it for about 1 to 2 hours a day, and it was terrible, even though it looked nice, but i got okay with it. Then i had a teacher at the college ask me to play/sing some country, folk, and rock for a class he taught on American culture.
I showed up expecting like 20 kids and to my surprise, there was full out stadium seating in an auditorium and 500 to 800 or so students! There was a Japanese student with me who i had never met, and he was playing a $1500 plus Talkamine beside me and my tiny little mic'd up shoebox with strings!
We played some Garth, some Cat Stevens, etc. Maybe it was the magic of the PA, but all things considered, it wasn't too bad. That thing felt like you were playing a raccoon coffin, but at the end of the day, it got me through!

What i want is not something which sounds sharp or bright, i kinda want something deeper which sounds like its coming from the soul like when i strum i wanna hear bass as well .

I’m really wondering about the action… To be able to do all of those hammer-ons … Or all of that tapping. It seems to be one of the difference between an expensive guitar and a cheap guitar is the set up… I expect a cheap guitar to have strings that are much higher off the fretboard. But you are a heck of a player with a lot of skill and probably a lot of hand strength. Amazing.

Quick question… I found a very nice guitar in the garbage. In perfect condition. A little Maestro by Gibson.
The next street everything is beautiful I don’t even care if it’s made of plywood… I put new strings on it but the internation is terrible. It even has a compensated saddle. I spoke to someone about it who said something about a neck reset. But I’m not sure Negri said it’s going to help with the intonation. I thought the neck reset had to do with changes to the neck end trying to adjust the action height.
I mean I had a guitar tech make me a new bone saddle for my Taylor… Mostly to adjust the action height. But this is an intonation issue. I have to do some research. It may have to do with the scale length for all I know.

Should be said, even the "expensive" guitar here is not particularly expensive (relative to the world of acoustic guitars offered), it looks like a Larrivee L-03, which is I think their cheapest offering (trim-wise), based on the satin finish and the oval paper label, which indicates it was made in California..
OTOH, at least back 12 years ago when I was shopping around, Larrivee was the unspoken secret of the guitar world as far as quality-for-price. The 03 trim still had all of the basics of what should make a top-tier guitar, so I guess the comparison mostly still stands: namely all-solid-wood construction (and Larrivee's signature L shape, which is widely considered as the precursor to Taylor's signature GA shape, considering one of the founders of Taylor was a former Larrivee employee!)

I tattoo. While I use a fairly expensive tattoo machine, I can make a clean, solid tattoo with the cheapest working tattoo machine on eBay, or with one made from any rotary motor found at home. The investment that matters is the time invested in yourself to master your craft.

The truth is once you learn the instrument you become eligible to claim for a new expensive guitar from your parents which they will eventually deny and you will end up playing the cheap one which you have for the rest of your life

Stability! Now there is a good point. Sometimes can be difficult to showcase how sturdy a guitar is from just playing it. Perhaps putting both in flightcases, then shipping them around the world, then checking the tuning would make for a fun video! Thanks so much for your comment - Sanjith, stay awesome! - Sam

IMO, the best guitar is the one that speaks most to the player, not necessarily the one that costs more. If youre comfortable with the instrument, youre more likely to be relaxed and uninhibited. I have an expensive accoustic that I bought a couple of decades ago that most often collects dust in the closet. My favorite accoustic is a Martin GPC costing less than half as much. Its warm tone gets me where I need to be.

The expensive one is so much better . Even the execution is smoother cuz it's more comfortable to play some techniques can't be done well on cheap guitar.
On electric the difference can be less evident but on acoustic the gap is huge . if you add that most of the time you pay for a instrument more comfortable to play than the sound ... well .
But that doesn't mean you can't find a good instrument for your budget . Just don't go too cheap ... that cort is awful to play . I tried one and i had a cheap guitar of the same kind in the past . you just destroy your fingers.

Is there a Larrivee guitar in Indonesia?

It’s not all about the sound as much as it is playability. I mean if you have a guitar that sounds great, like a Martin D15m, and it does sound great, but it’s a bit hard to play, then what do you really have? It be better to buy a guitar that you feel personally is really good for you not only that way it sounds, but how you can play it. If that play ability causes you to have to pay a little more to get better action, then that might be the thing you have to do. I feel if you’re on a budget Alverez offers some really great guitars for good prices and you get both good sound and action. I’d rather have a Taylor of course but the Alverez they do offer a pretty good guitar for a budget price.
